There was a soft continous crackle as Natalio experimented with the intesity of his newly grown flame mane... well the beginnings of it. His tail flicked back and forth, the heat growing and lessening with his mane. What a way to waste time...
Natalio had wandered from his love-struck parents, he could handle only so much love at one time. "What are you going to do with yourself Tal?" He questioned himself quietly, giving up on his mane. He swept his paw through the dirt, boredom overcoming him. Flopping to the ground he sighed and looked to the sky, "I suppose I'll just watch the clouds again...." Grumbling he rolled to his side, "If there were any..."

Tashika viewed the world around her with disappointment. It was hot. It was sunny. It was Summer. The very idea made her want to groan. A petulant pout crossed her face. It was ages until her season. She frowned and flexed her power, a little gift to call the cool wind... A gift to call snowflakes, though it would only be rain in this hot weather. And that just made her mood worse. Her beautiful snowflakes, little more than WATER. "Ugh." She muttered, picking up a trot. "This is so wretched.. Winter, Winter, return swift and soon... I'm begging for snow by the next full moon." She smiled at her sillyness, and went a-hunting for some fun. "Helloooo out there."

Natalio heaved a sigh again, closing his eyes in hopes to catch a nap in this heat. It was almost suffocating today... he loved it. He had no problem with the heat, he embraced it... but it never provided the companionship he seeked. His ear twitched when he felt a breeze come through and groaned. "Don't come and cool me off..." He snapped at the inhuman object.
It was only moments later that he thought he was hearing things in his own mind. "Am I seriously this pathetic? I'm hearing myself echo?" He thought as he sat up, looking around. He had to blink a couple times to see that the lion he saw a short distance way was more than a halucination from his bored mind. "Hello?" He called warily, hoping he hadn't crossed into someone's lands... but that might actually prove to be something to do...
Standing up he walked towards her, not too fast or slow, but more at a comfortable leisure. "Please tell me you are more than a halucination..." He began when he was within talking distance...

The 'hello' made her glance around, not quite spying him until he moved closer. By then he was saying the most peculiar thing. Hallucination? Well that was certainly an odd way to begin a conversation! "Hallucination?" She echoed blankly. "No... Unless you usually hallucinate about strange females..." For what it was worth, she certainly thought she was real... But then again, she was a spirit of the Winter season, forever a cub... The reminder of joy. If only it was cool! "Maybe you're the hallucination." She challenged. Where did that come from?

"Well, either you're a talking hallucination.. which I've never had before... or you're the real deal. And no, I don't normally hallucinate..." He said, then with a thoughtful look added, "Actually, I've never hallucinated before." Shaking his head he sat, facing her. "Maybe I am a hallucination if I've never had a hallucination...Unless it's common for a hallucination to hallucinate."
He sat there, a confused look on his face. "Do you have a name? I don't believe that hallucinations have names... well, unless you hallucinate about a certain being..." his tail flicked back and forth as he continued to think. What an odd day it had just turned into...

Tashika sat, flat out confused now. Would a hallucination hallucinate? Would it be able to recognize its hallucinations, as hallucinations? If it did, would they be friends? "Well.. I don't think a hallucination would have a name.. Unless the one, who was having the hallucination, named it.. But even if they did, how would the hallucination know?" She frowned. "I'm Tashika, and I don't think I'm a hallucination.. I don't think you are either.. I think it's just hot." She nodded firmly. Yes. That was what she thought. Bedevil this talk if what was or wasn't a hallucination.

The look on Natalio's face was also of confusion. "I think you're right... it must be hot and I'm bored out of my mind. I've never talked so much about hallucinations... as a matter of fact I don't think I've ever really thought about them before." Shaking his head he tried to rid himself of the confusion.
"My name is Natalio. I'm pleased to meet you Tashika... I do hope I didn't bore you with such talk? There is nothing to do in such heat... And here I am a fire lion saying that..." He said with a shake of his head.

"Wretched heat." She muttered, calling another cool breeze. "I don't know why I left the snows, or her Majesty. I must be out of my mind, but it is nice to meet you too, Natalio. And you didn't bore me at all. It was very interesting, in a confusing way." She shrugged it all off and gave him a smile, the breeze still swirling around her. "I thought Fire lions loved this sort of season... I've never been in such a warm climate before.. I usually stay, elsewhere. Is this not normal?"

He laughed lightly, "That's good to hear... This heat is playing me." He said with a smile. "You don't like the heat? It's quite common. It just happens to be a very slow day and I didn't want to be around my family any longer... thought I was going to lose my mind... but then again, had I been alone any longer I might have lost it anyway..." He rambled again.
"Sorry, I lose myself sometimes. I get to thinking and sometimes I can't stop." He shrugged then and looked to her. "You're the one that caused the breeze, huh?" He sighed and intesified his flames. "I like the heat." He grinned, "I can't exactly say I've been in the snow though... it only rains here. Too hot for snow."

At the question 'You don't like the heat?' she sniffed disdainfully. Her? Like the heat? "Certainly not." She said firmly. "And I'm from the mountains, where Winter never really loses her sway... Her Majesty and I rarely visit here, exept for when the snow falls... That is the only time she leaves the Ice Caves." She let him ramble, tilting her head to listen. He had a family? What was that like? Insane, apparently... She almost wished she could say she knew what that was like. "Yes.. The breeze was my doing." At his 'too hot for snow' she looked horrifed. "No wonder I've not been to this area before.."

Natalio chuckled at look on her face. "If you don't like the heat, may I ask how you got out here?" He questioned her gently, his mind still pondering over the 'Her Majesty'. Did she not have a family? He thought every lion had a family besides the really creepy ones, and in his own personal opinion, she didn't look creepy at all... rather nice actually.
"Tashika, is it far to the mountains?" He had been in the heat for as long as he could remember... the thought of somewhere cool and his using his flames for a purpose made him wonder.
