I had this horrible dream last night.
I have this big show coming up tomorrow in Pittsburgh, and we're on a real time crunch for travel. I have to leave work and run down to Akron to meet up with everyone before carpooling over to Da Burgh. It's about 3 hours of driving.
Anyways...
I had this dream my bff and troupe mate picked me up at work, and we hurried down to Akron, only to discover I forgot my costume, jewlery, and makeup! *gasp*
Going back would mean we'd be late for the show, but I couldnt go on stage like I was! (We all have matching-ish outfits for this number, so I couldnt barrow from someone else either.)
Such a bad dream.
I think alot of it has to do with the fact that I usualy pack two nights before a gig...and I still havent gotten anything together, I'm waiting for tonight to do it. lol I'm hoping it's just my paranoia, and not some horrible omen.

it could be just tension. if its big and you feel stressed, bad dreams will happen.
There is a dance i'm learning and its nightmare-ish. all the turns and steps its a lot.
nightmares for a week until i was able to dance it. i'm telling you, from messing up steps, to forgetting to put on my clothing and dancing it naked.
i just think its the jitter bugs biggrin

I was telling my bff about the dream on the way to troupe practice last night and she was cracking up.
I packed last night, and double checked everything. I've got it all. lol
I had this dream awhile back when we were learning our gypsy-veil piece that I was late and missed my cue and totaly messed everything up. lol
Sometimes I think I put too much pressure on myself to be the best in the troupe. I'm always on time, always know all the moves...it's alot of pressure I guess. I'm just not happy being less then perfect when it comes to preformance tho'...I know that sounds kinda snotty. I want to be a professional, and teach, and really...how can I do that if I dont put eveything into it? Right?

i understand you want to be the best, i want the same as well. I went to my instructor and she is giving me tasks.
the way i look at it, is that in a group, i learn to 'work with others' i know most of all the major choreographies, and pick them up really easy.
it does sound a little snotty but understandable. just don't be a Diva. there is one tribal fusion person in the troup and i want to express my side, but i'm better as a soloist than a group performer, although some of my dances are for two.
don't worry, you'll be professional and be great! ^-^
