... So yeah, decided to make this because I HAVE to talk to someone about the book. I'd have to say the part that made my heartache and my chest clench the most was the first time Wrath went blind, because I knew right then he was officially "The Blind King" and not "The Visually Impaired Half-Blind King" The second one was the emotion turmoil that JM is going through with Xhex. I was like "YEAH! You go man!" when he finally lost it and I wanted to call Xhex a b***h for not like... returning his affections but really who could blame her? She lost her love, Mhurder [yeah I know I was psyched about him being mentioned too], while he was trying to save her from the Colony. For serious. Then John went through that "Lets drink and ******** myself into a coma" thing that got me even more heartache. I was confused with the whole Ehlena's dad having Schizophrenia thing because I was always under the idea that vampires weren't able to have human illnesses... mental ones included. Though I got over that when Rehv used Parkinsons' as a reason he takes dopamine and called it the "vampire equivalent". I'm not happy with the amount of time we spent on Wrath's and Beth's love life, because really... if I wanted to read more about them I'd have re-read their book some more and re-read paragraphs with just them in it. I was really looking for more Rehv/Ehlena [we did have a lot of it but really... I wanted more because I'm greedy for Rehv biggrin ]. On Rehv... Oh. Em. Effing. Gee. I'm so glad I got more insight to him because he truly is a male of worth [not that I didn't think that before] I mean really? He killed his step-father for beating his mother [I knew it already but not details] and killed his birth father for raping his mother. Seriously, could you get any more worthy than that? On Ehlena... She's totally awesome. I love how to stood up to Xhex even though it's obvious she could take Ehlena down. Yeah I loved like 99% of the book. biggrin

LAv has become one of my all-time favorite books. Something I totally did not expect. I enjoyed the last couple of BDB stories, but not as much as the first 4. I tended to skim over the lesser sections, etc. and the emotional impact in LU and LEn was not as strong for me as with the others.
However, IMHO, Lover Avenged has it all. The flow of the story was perfect, the lessers were in "smaller doses" and moved with the story instead of stalling it up.
I loved all of the subplots...Wrath/Blindness/Beth; learning more about Trez/iAm; JM/Xhex (although I wanted to knock both of them upside the head); Tohr *sniffle*...I'm glad he's back in the game; meeting some new characters, at least one of whom, according to the WARDen will be showing up in her new series; the Sympath colony; both sides of the family issues...on & on...and then there's the main-course of Rehv and Ehlena.
Rehv had started to grow on me, but LAv took him all the way! And I adore Ehlena...lol...especially some of her interactions with Xhex.
Sounds like Saxton will be showing up in the future. Interesting little tidbits with mentions of Muhrder/Mhurder (sp. too lazy to look it up at the moment). Also with Xhex 'smelling/scenting' Manny. Hmmmm...he's still a mystery.
The Brothers & Lassiter provided their typical comic-relief (Bow chicka wow wow).
I wasn't liking JM/Xhex as a couple before, but I'm feeling them now...sheesh...so long to wait for Lover Mine.
Whew...I guess that's my 2 cents worth... wink
Have you heard about the contest on J.R. Ward's website? Transcribing the "old language" on the inside covers.

omg! the book was great! heart i didnt like Rehv much before this book but it kinda changed my view on him, and i thought it was one of the better written books. and OMG Mhurder!! whats the deal gonna be there! i thought the whole Beth and Wrath not getting on was like how/what/when cause nothing about them not sleeping together was mentioned in the insiders guide....i still dont like Xhex! stay away from my JM! lol Elehna was a great character but they could have put a bit more of the other warriers and their families in cause ive grown so attached and want to find out more! gonk

Oh yes, I have to agree with you all. Rehvenge's book was the best in my opinion. As people have said, it has everything I wanted.
Things I loved:
- Rehvenge (dur)
- Ehlena's kickass attitude at the end
- John Matthew finally coming out as a man, I no longer see him as a boy anymore.
- Beth and Wrath
- Xhex, oh she is lovely
- Lassiter and Muhrder
- Lash! OMG, wow, he is amazing
- The Sympaths
- Rehvenge as the Sympath King
Things I hated:
- the fact Blay and Qhuinn aren't together yet
- the way John treated Xhex
- Wrath going blind! I almost cried!
- Rehv's torture!!!!!!

This is by far my favorite book! At first I hated Rehvenge, I couldn't stand it that I had to read his book. But after a while, I kinda fell in love with him myself.
I cried when Wrath started to go completely blind, on top of all of his other problems. The poor guy made some mistakes and almost ruined what he had with Beth, that's enough for me to want to reach through the book and give a big 'ol hug!
Xhex..... evil burning_eyes talk2hand I used to like her....But after what she did to John.....uh-uh, no way!
John...you gotta feel bad for the guy. My friends read LAv before I did and they all told me that John is a major jerk and they all hated him. But look at it from John's POV, he's been screwed over so many times.....HE'S JUST FED UP!
And then there's Lash.....I hate him, but I love him at the same time.

John is better I think, more confident as I always wanted him to be but...I think it may be too much. I hope he really sorts himself out but he didn't deserve what Xhex done.

I completely agree! I think that Xhex and John belong together. But that doesn't mean I like Xhex. Her intentions are good.....but they only torment John

I had way too many "Xhex can suck it" moments. I mean, I understand both points of view, but I understand John's more because I've been in situations like his. But at the same time, I know I have a bit of Xhex in Me too... and the saying goes "What we hate in others is that which we hate in ourselves", so there you go.

I liked revenge book. But I do have to agree. If i wanted to read about beth and wrath I would of gone back to reading the first book. Which i do anyway. I felt sad that thor finally gets over this metnal thing but john is already lost and won't go back to him. I ABLOUSTLY LOVE GEORGERY. I found it funny how wrath now has a dog to help him go places. But about Rhev and his girl. I found it cute and funny. I mean none of the other girls were as preverted as her. But yeah I thought they weren't supposed to get dieses either. So i was like wtf. Did anyone else find the dignora pizza part funny as hell?

Oh God! Where to begin,
First off I have loved Rehvenge from the beginning before he ever had a book. I just about died when I found out he got his own.
I loved how the book started out with him dealing with his sympath side. On whether or not to kill Wrath, which of course the answer was no. DUH! So happy that that Xhex kills that guy.
My first favorite scene in the book is the clinic when Rehvenge and Ehlena interact. It was so steamy and so hott! Favorite thing he says is "Pity" uh, so yumi. Totally love how Ehlena was trying to act like she was affected by Rehvenge's hotness. Which of course she was cool who wouldn't be. I was so shock to learn what the dopamine was doing to his arm, so pissed at Rehvenge that he was not getting help for it.
I so approve of Ehlena as being Rehvenge mate, they are perfect for each other. I totally connect with her and felt the emptiness she felt about her dad. Plus how she was such a strong character and didn't let things get the better of her. I love the part where she reads the book her dad wrote about his illness. Just a great part in the book.
My second favorite scenes are both dinner scenes in his penthouse. (Oh, and was I the only one that wished she had stayed a little longer in front of Vishous and Jane's window xd can you say yum!) Back to point, love how she leaves after giving him the pills and then see the dinner he made so she COMES BACK! Uh, love how he see's her and his beautiful AMETHYST eyes stair at her. Then after they are done eating and end up in Rehvenge bed room, redface very steamy.
Then how they develop JM and Xhex's relationship, can't believe what she did to him. (yeah, they finally had sex) But still is F*cked him up, he got so annoying after that. I felt bad for Xhex but I was like "you did this hello" it's your fault. But I must say the threesome between JM, Qhuinn, and the prostitute. Just saying I had some very intense dreams after reading that. xd Poor Blay though.....still haven't decided if I want Blay and Qhuinn together. I know Ward said that they are each other's HEA but I don't know.....
Please tell me I wasn't the only one that was pissed off with JM after he had drunk sex with Xhex just to get back at her. Right there, is the reason I really hate JM right now. He better start acting less like a whinny brat and more like a Brother or he is never going to be one. (and just because he is already has the Brother scare and the name Tehrror doesn't mean he is automatically going to become one)
Oh, I hated the part when he decides to destroy ZeroSum. That scene when he tells Ehlena about everything and makes it so she hates him made me so mad. I love how he tricked Xhex to promise to take care of herself so she wouldn't do anything stupid. But back to him destorying the club, the scene when he is talking about why he is doing it. To save Bella from finding out what he is and that he is sorry for what he did to Ehlena. When he was counting down till it exploded, I was dieing. I couldn't stand it that he was destorying the place that had witnessed so much. It was the place that the Brothers hanged out plus where JM and Xhex met for the first time.
That brings me to what happened when he got taken by the Sympath King his uncle. I freak out when he put Rehvenge in that dark room on a hook surrounded by spiders and scorpions. I couldn't stand it. I hate spiders, I so would have gone crazy if it happen to me. Oh, and GO Ehlena for figuring out that he wasn't died and found a loop whole so she and Xhex could go say his a**. Of course with the help of the Brothers. wink Can't believe that Lash took her and no one was able to stop him. UGH!!! gonk
Oh, so knew that Lash was evil b*****d. Not surprised at all that he turned out to be the Omega son. I was a little surprised that he sent the Lessers after his family and all the Glymera though. I can't wait for JM and Rehvenge to find them and Kick Lash's disgusting a** for taking Xhex. I know it's going to be good. twisted
Can't forget what happen to Wrath, so sad that he finally lost his eye sight. I was wondering when it was finally going to happen. When reading his parts about not know if he could still be himself and not see. Thank GOD! He has Beth and the lovely Mary for finding him a dog. I love his dog. Oh, and when he fogot his step and fell on his face. sad I thought he was going to loose it. But Wrath is so resilient and that's why he is the King. 3nodding
I love, love, love, love how the book ends. It couldn't have been more perfect between Rehvenge and Ehlena. She finally has to money to take care of her father and someone who cares for him. Rehvenge and his sister now have a stronger and deeper relationship then before. (I was crying so hard when he was worried that she hated him crying ) And now Rehvenge is the new Sympath King and him and Ehlena are together forever. razz
Oh, and Lassiter love him! I can't wait till he get's his own book. Plus I really want to know why Vishous and Lassiter hate each other so much. Plus how he became a Fallen Angel, I just now it's going to be juicy. But I guess we will just have to wait and found out. wink
