Abrafo stretched his large body out against the harsh terrain that surrounded his pride. The Bhanu lands were lush and glorious, but the surrounding area tricked the rogues, which was a helping hand to those whose job it was to gaurd the place. He didn't have room in his heart to care about them. Until he was sorted into an occupation within the pride, he had his days all to himself when he wasn't helping others with odd-jobs. As such, he didn't have any duties at the moment and was busying himself with with relaxing trips to this stream.

Because of his brush with the Mwana, he was forced to make his rounds when the sun was missing from the sky. A beautiful full moon glittered over the horizon. It bathed the trees in its delicious light, illuminating the sweet morsals of the night to his sensitive eyesight. Abrafo had hunted well this night and as a spur of the moment idea, had decided to take a nap. He normally trained after such an adventure, but right now he felt....lazy. Just plain lazy.

His hindlegs kicked out in lazy play with a leaf that had blown up in the wind. Scarred paws curled up against his pale chest while he yawned, snuggling down for another nap. The loneliness bothered him; normally, he had at least one companion with him to keep the demons from popping up in his head but when he was alone he often talked to himself. It was a survival technique he'd learned as a cub, but after some association with others, he found out that not everyone appreciated someone who heard voices.

The warrior didn't care. He sprawled out on the dirt, one leg kicked out into the water and a paw placed over his orchid eye. A light drizzled had started up, pelting down on the area, bringing with it all sorts of surprises.

There was another out roaming tonight, a slender young cheeton with a dark pelt covered in stars and other markings. He blended into the night rather well - or would have if he was trying to hide. Which he wasn't.

Gil was practically strutting along, looking about him in a curious sort of manner, but not really ... looking for trouble.

So when he spotted the large scarred male lying beside a pool, he blinked and stopped, trying to decide whether to turn the other way, or maybe go around, or what. After all, he didn't want to get himself attacked!

Abrafo's lethargic senses took a while to pick up the scent of another, but when he did his warrior instincts kicked in. Rolling over onto his stomach in a move so fast his hindleg kicked up a jet of water into the air. His eyes sought out the enemy, that cursed being who dare thought he could sneak up on him as he slept.

Claws extended, lips pulled back in a snarl he spotted the....thing. He wasn't quite sure what it was, actually. Small, by his standards, and rather puny that it was, he couldn't deny that the creature held a certain beauty about itself. The scent identified it as male and certain physical attritubes told him that it was part lion, but what else? How could anything be part lion?

Since the creature posed no threat to him, the lion calmed his tense nerves and relaxed as much as he could upon the ground, staring up at the being with a mixture of emotions running through his eyes, confusion being the strongest. "You really shouldn't sneak up on others while their sleeping, runt." He growled, unconsciously sounding harsh.

Gil squeaked when the big male quite suddenly rolled over and glared at him like that, the smaller male flattening his body to the ground.

But once Abrafo relaxed and started talking to him, Gil's natural inclination to preen and strut kicked back in. "What do you mean, sneak up on others! I wasn't sneaking," he replied, nose in the air as he gave a little sniff.

"Maybe you just weren't paying attention!"

Abrafo had to fight the urge to laugh. The small whatever-it-was was trying to make itself seem bigger than it really was. Agressive little personality, he thought. He admired that skill in a person, up until the point where it became annoying. "That theory is just as likely as you sneaking up on anyone."

He crossed his paws at the wrists and smiled. It's scent was still making him go into fits, but was it proper to openly ask about ones heritage? If someone had approached him as such he wouldn't hesitate to slit their throats. However, he couldn't be sure that this theory applied to...hybrids, was it? Abrafo was sure that was the term he'd heard Nia use.

"Circumstances aside, what are you doing here? Do you live in this area?"

Gil sniffed softly and planted his rump on the ground, tail curling about his paws. "I don't sneak ... it's not very proper," he replied at that.

Then he tilted head at the next question and nodded. "Yes, not too far from here..." And paused. "Why are you looking at me like that? Is there something in my fur?"

Abrafo snorted out a laugh as he grinned. "Your very right; sneaking isn't proper and I'm sorry if I've offended you."

The lion tucked his sore leg underneath himself as it began to ache. Pressure usually helped in alleiving some of the pain, but even he knew it was high time to see a healer about this. "Well, theres stars in your fur, but other than that I'm just trying to wrap my head around this. Do you mind telling me what you are?" He asked bluntly. "Cuz, face it kid, you ain't no lion."

"Nah, it's okay~" Gil replied at that, smiling at the other. Then he blinked and tilted his head just a bit. "What do you mean, what am I?" He sniffed slightly.

Not offended, no ... but usually others weren't quite so blunt. "Of course I'm not a lion. But my father is. My mother is a cheetah. So I'm sort of a mix."
