It was early in the evening quite a few of the members of the pack were up and about now, starting their nightly routines. Strongear had gotten up early, he had hoped he could get to Twana and back before his mom got up and had to leave for her nightly hunting. He was getting close to the area that Twana slept, he had a feeling that she would be awake and waiting for him.
He broke though the trees and saw her sitting there..... he came up to her and nuzzled her. "So I hope you didn't have any plans for today, cause well I was thinking maybe you could meet my mom tonight." he said smiling at her. He hoped she wouldn't be nervous, his mom was really nice, and he thought that they would get along really well.

Twana had been up and bathed herself early that evening. She was still getting used to the fact that they were night dogs. She wasn't NEW to it but, it was different. She yawned to herself lightly then laid down. It was just after she'd laid down that there was a ruffling in front of her. "Zube?" She whispered to herself, nosing the air for his scents and finding it strong and pleasant. She sits up, tail wagging adn eye's glowing. "Zub-..Er.. Strongears!" She barks joyously and nuzzles him back.
"Being new here gives you the advantage of me having absolutely nothing else to do. Not that time with you would ever be less than top priority." She said happily and licks his cheek softly. "I get to meet your Mom?" She said, she tried slightly to hide her excitement but, there was no way she could. The honor she felt in him saying this struck deep and her eyes sparkle proudly. "I can't wait!"

Strongear was happy that Twana showed some enthusiasm to coming and meeting his mom. He had been worried that she would be nervous or that he wouldn't want to meet his family. He stretched and nuzzled her again, it was time for him to show her where he came from.
Sticking close to her side he began to lead her out of the forest and towards his den, he had showed it to her the first night she came to the pack, but he still felt a need to lead her. As he approached his den he wondered how to go about this, he hadn't told his mom that he would bring someone home to meet her, much less told her that this someone was someone who was very special to him. He poked his head inside he was in luck his mom was still in the den, but luckily none of his siblings were, he wasn't sure he could do all of this at once mom and siblings.
He took a step inside, slightly ahead of Twana "Uh mom, I wanted you to uh erm meet someone. This is Twana, she is a good friend of mine, and a new member to the pack." He stepped aside slightly and nudged Twana to get her to come into to the den. "Twana this is my mom" He realized that he was calling Twana by her given name and not her wolf name but he was sure that she would correct him.

If there was anything that Kiasi'mtunza, or LittleShield, was expecting that night, it was certainly not that her son would be bringing home a girl for her to meet. Already? They were so young! Then again, perhaps she would have been meeting boys at their age if she hadn't been so busy trying to survive. Who was she to think ill of her children because they had a stable life in which to thrive and think early of future families and the like? All the same, this sort of meeting was perhaps the farthest thing from her mind just then.
She had returned from a security check around the Pack's borders for a rest, taking a short break from her duties that, perhaps, she took more serious then necessary. Nevertheless, she had always been the type to thrive on the survival of others and she took great pride in her safe little family all holed up in a spacious little den in the middle of a great pack that would protect her little ones just as well as she would protect the pack itself. Or something to that effect.
Her teal eyes glanced up at her eldest son's entrance, lips curling in a soft smile before those same eyes widened and she peered at this new intrusion. Of course, she didn't draw the immediate conclusion that this was anything more than a friend to her son so she smiled and nodded curtly, "I'm always glad to meet your friends, Strongear. It's a pleasure..." She hesitated, recognizing the given name and not wanting to offend, if that were a possibility.

Twana was as new as new could be to this pack. Her given name was still currently her only name, the name she'd gone by at birth. She gazes at the Mother, kindness lingering brightly in her duel colored eye's of green and pink. "It's nice to meet you too." She pipes up. "My full name is Umhlaba`Umntwana. A lot to say I suppose.. For now you can call me Twana!" She says happily, trying to be as forward and nice as possible. She wasn't there to impress, she wasn't to good at that so if the mother wouldn't use the given name so be it but, the offer was made.
Her excitable nature turned to find something to talk about. Silence wasn't in her vocabulary. She was always saying something and that didn't change for this moment. "What do you do here?" She asks, questioning the elder females role in the pack. She seats herself at the entrance of the den and smiles politely, tail dragging back and forth of the ground behind her. Then taking a moment she thinks. "I don't mean to pry.. I'm just curious." Her smile fades slightly as she realizes how poorly she just sort of jumped in and asked something that may appear to be none of her business.
She was beginning to feel a tiny bit of nerves piling up in her. So she stops talking and decides it might be best to just listen.

Strongear nuzzled Twana affectionately he could tell she was feeling nervous, he wished he could just blurt out that his mom was nothing to be nervous of. Strongear was very fond of his mother.
He beamed up at his mother, he hoped she was going to be alright with this new friendship he was showing her. He knew he was young, and well Twana was just a pup, but they had a special friendship, or at least that was all he could manage to call it in his head, and he wanted to share that with his mom.
Feeling a need to talk about how great his mom was Strongear piped up, "My mom does lots of stuff for the pack, and she is really great at her job, and she still takes great care of me and my siblings." He smiled to himself, he felt that this meeting was going really well.

A long ear flicked almost imperceptibly, still minutely unsure about calling the pup by her given name, but considering that she hadn't been offered a pride name... there wasn't much else to go by. Her muzzle split in a broad, welcoming smile all the same as she inclined her head to one side and nodded it briskly, "Nice to meet you, Twana."
The sudden rush of questions was met with patience; having born such a large litter, Littleshield was more than accustomed to wading through the tide of puppy inquisitiveness. Her teal eyes danced between the newcomer and her son as he answered her, though she recognized the signs of nervousness exhibited by Twana. Rather than drawing further attention to the matter, however, she kept her thoughts to herself.
Smiling at Strongear's compliments, she turned her gaze toward Twana, "I'm a hunter; I guard the pack and and bring home dinner." She squished her nose in a smile and soft laugh as she glanced at her son, "And I guess I raise Strongear and his siblings, too."

Twana was all ears as the older fae spoke. She did a lot and this young pup was simply dazzled with the list. "Wow.." She said happily and her tail wagged with her enthusiasm. Learning! What more could this pup ask for. "Is it tough hunting?" She asks. Her eye's filled with pure innocence.

Strongear smiled, he could tell the two females were feeling awkward. Neither seemed to fully know what to make of the other. He smiled, he knew the two of them would get along. He could tell Twana really wanted to know more about his mother, and that his mother was confused about what this relationship could mean.
"Yea mom tell us more about hunting and what your job is all about I love hearing about you work." He smiled up at his mom, it was great having time with her, and this was practically alone time even though Twana was there, none of his siblings were.
