It was a whole new world to learn.. After the familiar if restricting life she had led before, cared for, guarded, yet repetitive and driven.. this new place, this wild place... was different. Instead of the solid, cold and hard floor of the training hall, this place was spongy.. crunchy.. full of random and irregular obstacles. The scents that assaulted her tender nose were overbearing, powerful and rich. Some were beautiful, like that of the delicate flower blooming at her feet, others were repulsive. The temperature shifted with the light that brushed against her closed eyes. Cold when it was dark, warm when it was light. Water fell from the heavens to soak her coat, then the rich light would bathe her in its warmth and dry her once more.
It was strange, sometimes frightening, but mostly fascinating! Such things she still had to learn!
The pale blue mare stepped quietly along the well-worn path through the open woodland. Rich leaf litter crumpled softly at her passing, the bars of warm sunlight that shone down through the canopy brushed fur, leaf and bark alike, glinting from the three jewels that decorated the mare, sparking in crimson stars from forehead and tails. The butter-yellow ribbon looped around her slim neck glowed softly like a buttercup, a match for the creamy colour of her markings. Walking slowly, eyes closed as if dreaming, the mare passed through the gentle landscape like a breeze. Barely leaving hoofprint or hair behind her.
