A few of us around here like Armored Core, and a lot of us just like mecha(Who doesn't?), so let's use this topic to discuss mechs, design, and tactical use.

Name: Dai Eisen(AC2 Revised Armaments Type)(Design as of Armored Core 3)

Head: MHD-MX/RAICHIS
Core: CCL-01-NER
Arms: MAM-MX-REE
Legs: CLM-03-SRVT

Booster: MBT-OX/E9
FCS: VREX-WS-1
Generator: CGP-ROZ
Radiator: RIX-CR14

Inside: -----
Extension: KES-AEGIS
Back Right: CRU-A10
Back Left: CWR-M30
Arm Right: CWG-MG-500
Arm Left: CLB-LS-2551

Note:
My personal all purpose AC unit for missions and arena matches. The goal here was simply a well balanced design that leans towards mobility with decent armor. The weapon mentioned is a machine gun with limited ammo, seeing as ammo prices are something to be more aware of in AC3, but earlier on, I used a pulse rifle to keep costs down. Late game performance saw it doing very well against the Controller's defenses, but thats not saying much. As you can see from the CWR-M30, I prefer rockets to missiles for raw damage, but it took a bit of training to get accurate with them, seeing as the FCS won't track with dumb missiles. The Radar functions are basic, but this core assumes your familiar with basic core operations and tracking the enemy. On some side notes, this machine can fight well enough in the air with shell based weapons, but as with many cores, it won't stay long in the air with energy attacks, so it's best used to corner the enemy. All in all, a mid performance machine that functions well with a little freedom for customization in Optional Parts.

Name: Righ Kaiser (AC3 Heavy Weapons Warfare Design)

Head: MHD-RE/008
Core: MCH-MX/GRP
Arms: CAH-22/NIX
Legs: MLH-55/RS

Booster: MBT-OX/E9
FCS: VREX-ST-12
Generator: CGP-ROZ
Radiator: RGI-KD99

Inside: -----
Extension: -----
Back Right: CWC-GNC-15
Back Left: CWR-HECTO
Arm Right: CWG-BZ-30
Arm Left: KWG-HZL50

Notes:
A Prototype for a heavy weapons unit, this particular machine is slow. Very slow. This machine is meant to engage large enemy units, specifically, Massive Type MTs. The heavy weapons and parts weighing this machine down permit for little movement, and there is no overboost function. However, what we lose in speed, we more than make up for in defense and offense. This core boasts the highest offensive value of any core I've made, and the armor and AP almost guarentee a safe return from most missions. It's only seen combat once, and that was against the Massive MT at the Avalon Hills. Built specificaly to take down this particular target, the core boasts a Bazooka as a primary weapon, a grenade launcher on one shoulder, a heavy rocket launcher on the other, and a handheld howitzer in the left hand. It also sports an onboard weapon of two bits on the back for attacks on the enemy when ammo expires, though ammo should only be a concern in terms of price. It shows great promise against large targets, but should probably see limited use against smaller, faster targets. I had to sacrifice an extension and an inside part to keep the machine from being overweight. This craft also suffers from having no radar devices, so it's tracking systems are SEVERELY limited. Visual confirmation of targets is the only option. On a side note, the main body design is heavily based on Granzone from Super Robot Wars and Masou Kishin.

Name: Alt Ryu (Armored Core 3 Protoype Machine)

Head: CHD-SKYEYE
Core: CCL-01-NER
Arms: MAM-MX/REE
Legs: MLM-MX/066

Booster: CBT-DRAKE
FCS: VREX-WS-1
Generator: MGP-VE905
Radiator: RIX-CR14

Inside: -----
Extension: MEBT-OX-EB
Back Right: CRU-A10
Back Left: MWM-560/12
Arm Right: MWG-MG/1000
Arm Left: KWG-FTL450

Notes:
Looking back to SRW for inspiration, I came to the Wild Series and decided to synthesize one from AC parts. The result was the Alt Ryu, or Old Dragon. Bearing a Wild Series look to it, a test run in the field was quite necessary to test this units real effectiveness. Tried and true, it's an Arena unit more than anything. The speed is comparable to that of Dai Eisen, but not quite as fast or maneuverable. For it's primary weapon, we have a Machine Gun bearing one thousand rounds of ammo(Inspired by the Dragon/Super Dragon in perfect Dark) good for close quarters combat and long range combat alike. For absolute close quarters combat, the left arm forsakes an energy blade in favor of a flamethrower. Opening with the Flamethrower and following up with the machine gun is the main idea to break the opponents output. The combo is effective, but limited ammo makes using it limited. To compensate for low ammo, a missile launcher was added, but can be swapped off for ammo expansions if needed. To be honest, it's based on a Wild Series, but the Extension Boosters make it look like a Metal Armor(Dragonar). In any case, the machine has potential, but requires a skilled pilot to use it effectively. On a side note, it may not be the best, but it CERTAINLY isn't the worst. I've personally used this machine to best Nocturne in the arena, and he gave Dai Eisen a run for the money(But Dai Eisen DID win in the end).

As long as I get gold to post, why not have fun with Sprites?

LoL. Finally after some gold? o_o Btw, you do know that we have a chatterbox, right? You can just post random bumping or anything in there for gold if you want.

I know, but I'd just as soon use any thread, so why not my own

Trying to save a little gold up for a Blue/Purple Sun Visor. I think it'll compliment the headgear rather nicely.

Hmm.... I'll have to pull up my part lists for Nightshade for AC2, SL, and Nexus... Basically, lightweight frame, fairly powerful booster for 3 and SL, super-power booster for Nexus, high-output generator, whatever radiator was light and did the job, a right-arm machine gun, left-arm machine gun as of SL, and stealth extension in 3/SL and the JIREN battery in Nexus. Let me see what I can remember here... Don't remember the AC3 design too well, but here's what I remember of the others:

ACSL:
Head: dunno...
Core: RAY
Arms: Not sure
Legs: The one that look like they have a stub of a tail
Booster: NI/MARE
FCS: Either a WS, or the good SW
Generator: The heavy, high output one
Radiator: The basic one, since it's so light and heat isn't a huge issue in SL
Right arm unit: The 800-round machine gun
Left arm unit: The 150-round machine gun (left-arm machine gun ammo is really tiny)
Extension: CROW (we all know how evil it is, and how badly the AI auto-aims)
Back units: none

Nexus:

Head: CICADA2
Core: The expensive Crest dual-rifle solid EO core
Arms: Macaque
Legs: Dingo2
Generator: KONGOH
Radiator: ANANDA
FCS: One of the WS ones
Booster: The 19900 output, massive drain one
Arm unit right: PIXIE2
Arm unit left: The chaingun-looking one
Back units: none
Extension: JIREN

Basically, this is my tried and true design with dual machine guns capable of tearing through armor like paper, coupled with extreme mobility and energy efficiency sufficient to keep up bounding aerial combat indefinitely. The stealth extension allows it to attack with impunity for a few seconds, along with confusing opponents, and the battery on the Nexus version is available to compensate for overheating energy consumption, since the design's cooling is not perfect, and the booster produces a rather large amount of heat. (to be expected when carrying a massive chunk of metal across ground at speeds in excess of 400 Km/h) The most important thing to keep in mind with this one is to keep track of when opponents' cannons will finish reloading, generally prompting them to fire. The light frame kinda precludes letting armor take care of survival--you have to ensure it yourself. Well, that's about it, really--any other explanation would recquire demonstration, and I can't quite do that on this. sweatdrop

Gabriel-class
Mech Height: 25 ft.
Mech Weight: 10-15 Tons due to variable loadout.
Walking speed: up to 20 MPH
Running Speed: up to 40 MPH
Boost Speed: up to 300 MPH (!)
Mech Purpose- Multi-Use Mobile Infantry (MUMI)

Mech Weaponry: Variable, but most pilots favor energy weapons for thier near-endless amounts of ammo (As long as you aren't an idiot about it.)
Loadouts include:

Varia- equipped with a Barrier Shield and one mass driver rifle, it is intended to be used as a front line with lots of others with similar loadout.

Stalker- two noise cancelers iin the feet and the relatively silent Energy Handgun make it perfect for mountainous guerilla ops.

Grenadier- The heaviest loadout. designed as a mobile artillery barrage more than anything else.

Musketeer- Equipped with two particle projection 'swords' AND a barrier shield AND an Energy Handgun, this is the most versatile loadout of the Gabriel and sees the most action.

Holy Avenger- A mythical loadout, which is supposedly designed to be a 'semi-mobile 99-cent Holocaust'. It is not known whether this loadout actually exists or is even viable on the current Gabriel.

Mech Purpose (FURTHER): As you can tell above, ther eare multiple loadouts of weapons and accessories based on the basic core unit of the Gabriel itself. It has boosters capable of several thousand pounds of thrust, which allow the Gabriel in all loadouts to go surprisingly fast. Grenadier can go about 160 MPH, and even the proposed Holy Avenger has a projected top speed of 140. Of course, tanks of the era can move much faster than the Gabriel, but Gabriel has the advantage in mountainous regions, making both the Musketeer and the Stalker a tie for the most popular loadout. While it should technically be possible to take on the 300-foot Mega-class mechs with the Gabriel, the mere difference in firepower makes it not reccomended.

Hmm, well, I for one am Interested in talking about suits as well. I prefer the suits from SRW mostly. In there they show some favorite gundams and my favorites Masoukishin Lords of Elementals like my suit GRANZON. I prefer them because in my opinion they are nearly ustopable. xd Here is my suit.
