I personally prefer to let people stumble upon the truth themselves. The reaction is always neutral or positive.
But what do you guys think?

A little bit of both, if we're on the subject I might just say it. Or, if I really want the person to know I'll just tell them. Either way it's really cool to see other people's reactions. I've had: "Wow, really? I've never met a bi person before. What's it like?" "I never would have guessed." *sudden shock* What's even better is the facial expressions...they make me laugh sometimes...
But what's scary is that my friend figured it out about me being bi about 2 years before I actully did.

My friend told me yesterday that it's better to be a murderer than to not be straight. He isn't my friend anymore.

wordman My friend told me yesterday that it's better to be a murderer than to not be straight. He isn't my friend anymore. That really sux...I'm sorry to hear it wordman. At least you found out now and not later in life. As far as coming out, it really is a subjective matter. You do it when you feel comfortable and safe in your environment. If a person can never come out because of one reason or another, then so be it. I don't think anything less of that person because I used to find myself in the same situation. Of course, I blew the closet door wide open, but that's besides the point. When people ask me, I tell them. If we're just talking and the subject comes up, I tell them. If the person is someone that I'm really close to, I tell them. I don't wear it on my sleeve, but I don't hide away from it. I'll wear a rainbow patch once in a while. I'll speak out when discrimination is in the air. I guess it just depends on my current situation.

I won't go around telling people, and I don't own anything rainbow (heck, in terms of clothing I have little other than black), but if the subject of relationships/crushes comes up in conversation I'll be honest about my sexuality... except with my extended family... I'll come out to them when I get a girlfriend...

I don't mind, really If they want to know, they can ask If they don't care, they won't ask If they don't like it, they shouldn't ask So it's mainly their choice

I found out that I was bi this summer. I was at a party and two of my friends who I knew were bi were telling someone who didn't know, and I said casually "I'm bi." Everyone is like "Really? Cool." Everyone except my best friend. She got kinda mad at me for not telling her sooner, but truth is, I didn't know myself!

I'll tell people if they ask, or if I'm close to them. But I don't make it obvious. Most people don't believe me at first. It's kinda funny. Last year at my middle school, I only had like 1 month left and there were like 30 eigth graders. So at P.E. a girl shouted to me and said "will you be my lebian lover?" "are you a guy?" "no." "then no"
Pretty much everyone knew after that.

And it was just the tow of us, painting benchs, we were having a typical girl talk moment. So I just come out. it was soooooo funny to see her face. her eyes widdend, then she started in on questions. she wasnt scared, she was rather curious. XD

I don't think I need to tell people. I'm just going to be me, and if they don't like it, they can bite my butt. XD
