Ergo sat in his usual position amongst the rocks. Life had been quiet for the past week, even moreso than the usual peace he had come to know since he had met the group of Twilifs, Phyris, Constellations, and the occaisional Forest Child and Cerberus. How his life had changed since his meandering way had placed him along the happy lake with his new friends. He smiled to himself, flipping his coin endlessly, over and over. He had become quite good at it since he had recieved it, so long ago...
Alay, alas, my mind wanders.
The day was clear and beautiful, warm and sunny, with little wind, just a light breeze that ran its fingers playfully through the trees. Ergo sighed happily, remembering fondly at times past, memories long since drawn and warped by time, but still pleasent to the thought. Without thinking, his voice drifted to a song, another ballad of his travels.

Zahara drifted lazily among the sunbeams shimmering through the air. Usually she would have scattered, becoming sparkles of light herself... but the breeze was so pleasant, the fresh scents of the spring forest filled the air, and Zahara was compelled to soak it all up as coherently as possible.
The day promises something wonderful!
Giggling softly, she began to spin, tumbling and dancing upon the air. The breeze shifted slightly, turning her to face a different direction; where a repetitive, rhythmic glimmer caught her eye. Not in the mood to stifle her more spontaneous whims, Zahara moved casually toward where she had seen the glimmer in the trees.
As she got closer, she started to hear someone... singing? Curiosity still had her in it's grip and she moved closer to the owner of the pleasantly fluid voice.

His voice had escaped again, wandering off through the trees, to a place newer and more exotic than his own. If that was indeed possible. He felt the rising desire to travel off into the trees well up deep in his mind. Ergo was about to jump to his feet and go where his feet might take him when she entered his view. A pleasent ray of light bounced off the coin, as it always did, and Ergo smiled. "Radiant, as always, I see, Zavara." His grin widened as he exclaimed, "We meet again!"

Startled to be identified by name, Zahara landed lightly in the sunny glade, confused until she recognized that Ergo was the mysterious voice addressing her ...and that he was directly behind her. As per usual in the presence of such a confident creature, Zahara's self-doubt began creeping into the back of her mind; causing a slight flush to rise to the surface of her skin and pulling the focus of her gaze downward as she spun to face the other constellation.
"E-Ergo... a, um ...a pleasure to ...find you on such a beautiful day."
Zahara did not understand herself sometimes. She could "say" her thoughts perfectly in her head, but around those that were her '"equals" or betters, she stumbled over her words as badly as she had before she had gained her constellation standing!
Frustratedly trying to ignore those thoughts, she marshaled the courage to look up at Ergo and even managed to offer a small smile. "If I may ask then... where have your wanderings taken you since we last met?" Her voice was soft, but she had managed the sentence without stuttering or confusing what she was saying to whom... and for the time being, Zahara would consider that progress.

Ergo found himself locked into Zavara's eyes again, but broke himself away much sooner than the past time. Looking at the sky, he sighed. "I've not done any travels since last we met. It's so quiet and peaceful here, I find it quite hard to travel out into the world." He looked back at her, continuing, "It's been so long since I've met as pleasent a group of people." He chuckled. "It reminds me of a different time in my life, long ago. But that's for another day. Right now, I actually feel like taking a walk." He hopped up and began flipping his coin again in one fluid motion. "Care to come with me?"

Pleased at the casual nature of the invitation, Zahara offered a tiny nod. Waiting for the other to indicate where he wanted to wander, she looked back up at the sun, smile becoming slightly more relaxed, and natural.
"They are wonderful here... I suppose that is why since becoming a Constellation I still have not traveled much. I go to Earth for quick visits if I am granting a wish that needs my personal attention; but I always seem to return quickly." Sending a sideways glance at Ergo, Zahara flushed, surprised she had managed to say so much. "I guess that seems terribly boring to you though, my apologies for carrying on..."
Looking back at the ground in front of them, Zahara worried half of her bottom lip between her teeth as the pair reached the faint path leading into the treeline.

Ergo's grin widened until it was reaching from one ear to the other. "I've noticed that people and life are interesting, no matter what. There's always something to learn and always something to see." He held his coin up in the air and inspected it as it glinted and sparkled in the light. Looking back at Zavara, he continued, "You are not boring to me, no more than the ocean waves crashing against the sand or the sound of music as it runs through the villages of the Earthen. Do not doubt yourself." His smile tapered off for a moment as he contemplated what he said. Reaching the edge of the woods, Ergo lightened his step and began to hum, composing a new melody in his head as he waited for a response.

As Ergo continued strolling, he started to hum. Zahara slowed to a stop, watching him advance into the trees... and considering his words.
Do not doubt yourself.
The words were so simple. They were offered in kindly spirit.
So why could Zahara not bring herself to follow their advice?
Knowing the other would notice her absence relatively quickly, she tried to force her thoughts into words to answer him.

((I've been calling you Zavara. gonk ))
The flipping stopped. Ergo stopped and turned sharply and walked back, looking Zahara square in the eyes. The humor in his voice was gone. He leaned forward, scrutinizing her face with one eye closed. "'Hoy. You. Stop that. Right now. I see in your eyes how you feel." He tapped her under the chin with two fingers, soft and reassuring. "If you don't believe in yourself, then I will. Don't believe in you. Believe in the me that believes in you, eh?" He smiled again. Heading back towards the woods, he beckoned over his shoulder. "C'mon, let's continue our walk!"

(( I was rather amused by it blaugh ))
Surprised by the gentle reprimand, Zahara raised a hand to hover just over her chin and found herself using said hand to cover a sudden grin. Following quickly, she caught up to Ergo and dropped her hand to her side as she matched his pace.
"I suppose... if---if I had your confidence Ergo... then I would not be me." Zahara watched the ground ahead, but a small smile danced on her lips. "I am learning to believe in myself. Slowly. I do not believe one can change themselves or their mindset instantly ...at least, not if they want that change to become a permanent, fundamental part of who they are."
Looking up into the light-dappled canopy, Zahara allowed a small giggle to escape at the antics of the songbirds.
"If I may ask... is there a story behind your coin? The first time we met... you thanked me for assisting in your search for it..."

((Grah pulling myself out of the blues. Bakc now.))
Ergo looked at Zahara for a long time, considering. His eyes turned up into a smile and sparkled as he began. "For some reason, I doubt highly that if you were to, say, have a bit more confidence in yourself, you would become anything other than Miss Zahara. You won't become a squirrel or a tree or anything of the sort. You'll always be you. It's just so much easier to live with yourself if you have complete confidence in who you are." He smiled, then held his coin up into the light as he did every now and again. "This, my good lady, is a good luck charm given to me a long time ago by someone close to me." Ergo's eyes distanced into the sky, and he sighed. Snapping back, he turned to her. "It's awfully shiny. I try to keep good care of it."

(( glad you beat them back... I am still trying to hunt Zahara down, she ran away. ))
Seeing Ergo lose himself to his memories for a moment, Zahara offered a smile when he returned and hesitantly held out a hand; she did not want to bring up memories if they were bad... but though his eyes were sad, he kept the coin, so she reasoned tha tthe memories could not all be sad. "May I see? I do not believe I have ever seen a coin such as that before... is it from Earth?"

Zahara's question broke Ergo's deep contemplation. The blank look on his face quickly filled with emotion and life again, and he blinked twice in the sun, as if adjusting his eyes. His coin, which he had begun to flip again impulsively, was quickly caught. He held it out towards her as he began, "Yes, it's from Earth. A little one, but by now, she must be grown and mature, gave it to me. She was, as most children are, superstitious, and believed that if I had a piece of her with me, I would have to find my way back to her eventually. And who knows? Life works in mysterious ways. Maybe I'll get to see her again." He looked up at the sky, and a resolute expression crept onto his face. "...Maybe soon. Very soon."
The coin itself is gold and round. It appears to be made out of the same material as the necklace that Ergo wears, and it has the same symbol as the necklace, as well. It sparkles with an unnatural sheen that seems to almost resonate inside the coin itself.

I took... liberties? We should plot where this is heading though Domi, I like direction sometimes -bricked-
Moving slightly closer and delicately reaching out to take the coin, Zahara's eyes widened at the odd sheen and the almost... well, when she closed her hand around the coin, it almost seemed alive. Like it was calling to her, calling her somewhere, trying to tell her something just outside the range of what she could hear and understand.
"It sings..." she barely breathed it, still fixated on the gold glinting in her palm, "do you understand it, Ergo? I can see why you couldn't bare to lose it..."
She placed the coin gently back in the other Constellation's palm, not wanting to get too caught up in the draw of the object.

IT'S ALL GOOD. Half the fun of roleplaying is making a story with another person~ UHM YEAH PLOTS. THEY'RE COOL.
Ergo looked at the coin in his palm and let out a breath, long and content. It seemed as if he had been holding it in for an eternity, standing in the grove with this other constellation. He closed his fingers over the coin slowly, one finger at a time, until it was hidden from view. From here, he moved it over to his side and dropped it into his pocket, looking back up.
Smiling, he nodded. "Yes, I understand it. It sings me a song that I can't understand, but you don't need to understand what it says to know what it means, do you...? It longs to see the world, every corner and every little thing in it. We travel together, myself and the coin, and we help each other out. It keeps me going through every storm and every dark cave, and in return, I make sure it gets where it goes. Wherever that is. Wherever it wants, really." At this, Ergo laughs. "Like right now. It wants to go."
The smile, the light fades from Ergo's eyes as he looks around. "The problem is... I don't want to leave for once."
