Thje children were...annoyances. Mas had attempted to put as much distance between himself and the little balls of meat and poo as he could. He really preferred them better when they were sleeping. But..that would not serve his purpose of imprinting himself on the female and encouraging her to get..what were those things again...feelings of comfort and safty? Dependance? Ah, maybe it was just too soon to worry about that. It would be better if he just waited until it was that the girl was capable of real thoughts before putting that enffort into her conditioning.
Besides...he had a matron to kill. He had thought it would be easy enough actually. She was feble and old and helpless. It was the damn Watch that was keeping her alive so they could continue their easy lifestyle. Once she was dead they were going to be out on their bikini clad butts in the street before her drool had cooled. He did not care how much money had been used on them. Barrith had more then enough money to make it seem like a drop in the bucket. Yet...all the money he had and he still had not killed the b***h yet...
Oh..there was definatly a reason for it though. Mas D'aun's mind had been completely distracted for a while now. He had so many things on his mind. A pair of children. Secrets he had not shared with a lover...said lovers extended absence... and Micarreth and his schemeing.
Mas had gone so far as to set a servant to wait at Talisin's shop to wait for the mages return. Ever day of every hour someone was to be waiting and watching so he could be informed immediatly of the mages return. Goddess! he was nearly to the point of considering making a sacrifice in hopes the Goddess might gently nudge her hand and push Talisin's plans to include returning to his city! Goddess help him if Talisin did not return again...he might just have to send his Raiders out looking for the mage to make certain he was allright....
Would Talisin take offense at being kidnapped?
Yes yes...probably.... Mas forced his mind from that train of thought before he got himself in a bit too deep in that manner of thinking...

Sitting in a quiet tavern, Taliesin seemed to be starring into space as he sipped from his mug of ale. If one could put a hole in the wall opposite him though, they might realise Tal was starring in the direction of his old workshop across the street. It would seem that in all of his plots and schemes there was one minor detail he had overlooked that threatened to ruin everything.
Upon returning to the city, Tal had made a beeline for his old workshop, intent on settling back into his old home and getting on with his life now that he had cut himself free of the old baggage in his life. However upon getting there he had found the locks changed. Turns out that he had made the slight oversight of forgetting to pay the rent. It was hardly surprising, for the last few months he'd been distracted helping his Matron wage her insane war, while at the same time plotting her downfall.
All in all it was not a good start on his new lease of life. He was effectively homeless and unemployed with no House to fall back on. Taliesin would be forced to start from scratch, not an easy feat given what little money he had left. There was a crack and Tal suddenly shook himself from his thoughts, looking down he realised he'd gotten so angry at this set back he'd squeezed his mug till it shattered.
Cursing himself he waved over the waitress and ordered another drink throwing some coins on the table, then added a few more to cover the cost of the mug after noting a rather pointed glance from the waitress. Things just keep getting better he thought.
Sipping from teh new mug he started to contemplate what his next move should be. There were few open to him that were even remotely palatable. He could simply find a little space somewhere and work his way up, but it would be hard and seem like a set back from where he used to be. Alternatively he could go and work under an already established ring maker, at least until he saved enough coin to set himself up properly. But teh thought of another profiting from his work caused bile to rise in his throat.
That left only two other possibilities; Shrisin Baen 'duis or Mas'Daun Barrith. Shri was a priestess Tal had a semi-formal alliance with and they had discussed the potential of Tal becoming the House Mage to her upon her successfully becoming Matron. The problem though was that Tal had not been in touch with Shri in some time and had no idea if she would still honor such an agreement, or if it was even in his interests to align with her.
That left Mas. While in some ways seeing his lover again sent excited shivers through him, it also put a sense of dread in his stomach. Tal feared what Mas might think of him if he learned about his predicament. Mas was from a more powerful house and extremely wealthy, but Tal had always done what he could to avoid falling into a situation where he was being 'kept' by Mas. It put him in a position of weakness and left him dependant on Mas, in the past Tal had always had the steady, if meager income from his workshop to support himself, now he would be wholly dependant on Mas. And while that thought wasn't entirely unpleasant, it did rankle his Drow Pride quite a bit.

Mas found his inner thoughts disrupted by a knock on his study's door. With a simple wave of his hand the latch lifted and unlocked. He had found it a bit more comforting lately to keep he doors locked behind him since Micarreth was no longer under his thumb. He had no way of keeping track of him anymore and that worried him at times.
The door swung open, and Mas lifted his blue eyes from the dagger that he had been gently and carefully etching runes into the hilt. He kept getting distracted sadly, so he had written the runes out in advance in light ink so he did not have to concentrate too much on what he was doing. Though as he saw the panting servant in the doorway, all thoughts of the enchantment and dagger were thrust to the side.
"He is here?" His voice rose with a eagerness. That was the only reason a servant would come running in still clothed in his street garments. Elsewise he'd have paused to change into the jester uniform Mas had not yet done away with. The small males head nodded, and Mas was up from his seat in a shot.
At first he pushed himself past the servant and began to head for the front gate. Then, as he got three strides down the hall he came to a dead halt. WHAT was he doing!? Running into the street to see if Talisin was permaps comeing this way? No no no! as's hands flickered to his hair as a start of anxiety hit him. He needed to freshen up! He needed to change his cloths and do his hair! And his make up had not been freshed at all today!!
In just a matter of minutes Mas'Daun was lost in a frantic raid of his bedroom. Throwing the door open wide, he did not bother to close it behind him. The robes he had donned that morning were cast off and allowed to fall to the floor so he could stand naked in front of his wardrobe and flip through the dress robes within.
"Too plain...too loose... Seen me in it already.." He muttered as he slapped each robe aside. "Not easy enough to get out of..." He whined softly before jerking a pale blue robe from a hanger. Holding it against himself, he peered down at the simple silken thing. It was more of a robe meant for lounging around the House really. The color matched his eyes, and the silver trimming had been matched to his hair. Okay..so perhaps this would do...
He shrugged the robe ovr his shoulders and quickly made use of the tiny hooks to catch it closed. Under garments? They would be a bit inconviente..but...after a moment of pulling and flinging handfuls of colorful undergarments Mas gave a silver and blue thong like undergarment a eyeing. It was a bit more...naughty...then he was used to wearing but...perhaps Talisin would appreciate and approve?
Putting it on, Mas spent a good five minutes trying to wiggle it into a comfortable place. His face slightly heated as he thought to himself. Normally he could go naked under a robe and feel utterly fine and confident. However, the mere act of putting something tight and confeing on had him feeling as embaressed as a ...Well...a child!
In the next twenty minutes Mas was a paranoid adonis, primping his hair and reapplying his make up. His jewelry was swapped out for something more delicate and glittering. Blue and silver...well..the colors did sui him didn't they? Ah! How much time had passed?
It seemed like..well..a good amount really... And no one had come to tell him of a visitor.... Talisin -surely- would be coming to see him right? Right? How couldn't he!? Mas gave himself a look over in his mirror, then quickly snatched up his staff. Perhaps he was just...traffic! Ah yes! If Mas went to the front steps he should be able to see him making his way through the crowd...surely that was it... Mas placed a hand over his glossed lips and uttered a small strained giggle.
It wasn't like Talisin would just...skip seeing him. No that could not be it at all. he would come and see him. He had to. Yet, as mas swept himself out past the front gate, and he cast his searching blue gaze up and down the street. he felt a sickening tightening in his stomach. He...had to be busy... The servant had said there had been activity at Talisin's shop after all. So perhaps he was just checking up on it. The shop was important after all...Talisin had plans of his own of course. Mas had to remind himself while trying to qwell his anxiety. He was going to come and see him...but maybe he should just...head that way... Yes...if he went down the street a bit he would see Talisin at any moment....

Taliesin had no idea how long he had spent lingering over his drinks, contemplating how one small oversight had ruined everything on him and suddenly narrowed his options. How ever long it was the tavern was starting to get busy, meaning people were getting off work, so it must be late Tal decided. It was late and he was tired, he hadn't slept the night before having come directly to the city from his home town after finishing with his family. He hadn't stopped once, for fear someone might have come after him in reprisal for the murder of his Matron.
Sighing he pulled himself up to his feet and left teh tavern, wandering off down the street in no particular direction. His goal right now was to find a place for teh night get freshened up and rested and then decide on his next course of action. As for where he was going to stay that was a thought weighing heavily on him. Tal idly ran a hand over his coin purse as he thought about how long he'd have to make his money last. He had little to his name but the cloths on his back, the few personal items in a carry all over one shoulder and the money he'd saved.
Not a lot, but he was far from penniless, he could live comfortably enough for a few months on what coin he had, but he had originally thought that by then he'd have his small ring business up and running again. Now he had to figure out how he'd earn a living and how long it could take, how long would he have to make his money last?
Standing at an intersection Tal looked down two roads, one lead to a nice reasonably safe part of town where he could get comfortable lodgings with all the comforts of home. Down the other was a less reputable part of town, as such things can be judged in a city populated by cut-throat Drow; there he'd find smaller, cramper rooms, but for a fraction of the cost of the upmarket Inns.
Really it should be a no brainer, Tal had no immediate source of income and only really needed a place to rest until he could sort something out. Still he had developed rather expensive and refined tastes recently and wrinkled his nose at the idea of staying in some flee infested dump, frequented by whores and caravan laborers.
Finally deciding that staying for a few nights in teh better part of town wouldn't hurt his purse too much, Tal turned and started up the street, only to stop at teh sight of Mas coming from the other direction. Tal froze in a mild panic, he hadn't counted on running into Mas so soon, at least not until he had a chance to clean up and compose himself. What was Mas doing here? Surely the other mage wasn't looking for Tal, he'd only been in the city for a few hours, he couldn't have heard of Tal's arrival already. Then where was Mas going and why did he look so preoccupied.
Lost in thought, Tal softly bit his lip in thought as he debated approaching his lover or not. Watching Mas approach, Tal couldn't help but not how well dressed and groomed Mas was, which in turn made him more conscious of the fact he must look a mess, hair dishevelled and his cloths still covered in trail dust. Perhaps it would be better if he avoided Mas, at least until he could make a better impression.
Over deliberating on the matter, ultimately decided for him. As he stood there thinking Mas drew ever closer and then it struck Tal that it was unlikely Mas hadn't already spotted him too. If Tal suddenly headed off it would be an affront to Mas and Tal really couldn't afford to alienate any of his few allies. And besides all that were the base urges currently screaming like trapped animals at the back of his head, demanding he possess teh handsome mage.
Taking a breath and composing his thoughts as best he could, Tal waved weakly at Mas as if only just noticing him and approached. "Mas Daun, my dear friend. What a pleasure to see you again."

Mas tried to keep his nerves settled, but it was rather hard. It had been soooo long since he had seen Talisin. He simply could not sit and wait for him to appear. He'd been languishing for his companionship so long. What if he had changed his looks a bit? Thus far Mas had only been looking for those stylish gold rings he knew Tal wore in his hair. What if he had changed that though?
Each step Mas took, he scanned the crowd with a searching sweep. It only occured to him a short while later that he had left without any guard. Ah...that was...a bad descion there. Mas tilted his head to look over his shoulder, and somberly noted that he had indeed traveled far from the House. Far enough it was well out of sight. Well...he was out here now...and if his beholder eye staff did not warn away the common thugs then it was their own doom.
No, turning back would hardly do him any good. particularly when...AH!! MasD'auns blue eyes widened with a sharp delight as he caught a glimpse of Tal standing at a intersection. There he was! His heart leapt eagerly in his chest, and a smile was already curling his lips. It was only after a passerby stepped before Mas, cutting off his line of sight, that he realized he needed to compose himself more. He was in public after all! By the time he could easily see Talisin again, he had managed to get his face smoothed back into a calmer and less eager expression. Though he had not managed to slow his heart rate any.
When Talisin seemed to finally notice his approch and waved, MasD'aun nearly lost control of the calm expression. He wanted to just...grasp the others hands and beg him to come home with him. He wouldn't of course. Such a shameful display would be bound to be met with disapproval really. Talisin was a very proud and self sufficient mage, if there was nothing else that Mas had learned of him over time, it was that. Still... Talisi did make it ever so hard for him to ensure the mage would be less likely to move on. How was Mas supposed to give him a reason to stay if he refused his gifts all the time?
"Talisin!" Mas reponded in turn as he closed the distance between them. At first his eyes were only set upon Talisin's face. "I am... very pleased to see that you have returned to the city. It has been a while. Are you in a hurry? Perhaps you could...invite me over for dinner? I would be very interested to hear what you have been doing. Will you be staying long?"
Goddess he would have rather offered to take Talisin to his own House...but again...he had learned after such attempts to impress the male with his wealth that it simply was not going to be accepted.

Taliesin allowed himself a small smile, it was good to see somethings hadn't changed and that Mas was as eager fro his company as ever. A small voice at the back of his head had worried Tal with thoughts of Mas moving on, after all the other mage had wealth enough to buy himself a harem of pretty boys. After all that had gone wrong that day it was reassuring to see some things might still be going his way. Those positive thoughts jarred a bit when Mas asked about being invited to dinner. Obviously Tal couldn't do that and he was loath to admit to his current predicament. Biting his lip in thought as he debated what to do now, Tal just shrugged as he stalled a moment.
"Well actually I am in a bit of a rush, I've only recently returned and haven't even had time to clean of the dust from the road, never mind having the chance to restock my larder. Plus I've got some business to attend to and such.... Buuuut... I suppose if a handsome enough Drow were to invite me to dinner it would be rude of me to turn him down?"
That should do Tal thought. It was reason enough not to have to invite Mas back to his now non-existent home, but still left the door open for Mas should he want to spend the evening with him. One thing Tal was adamant about thought, was that he wouldn't show any weakness before Mas, less he lose his lovers respect and any chance of maintaining his dignity while effectively asking him for favours.

Did his face fall? Did the disspointment show up in his eyes? Mas tried to keep the first response from Tal from effecting him in such an embaressing way. Of course Tal still had some things to do. It made sense that he had busniess to see to after his long trip. And...oh! Now as Talisin would bring it to his attention, MasD'aun's eyes would sweep over the mages cloths. Yes...he could see the wear of the road upon him. And come to think of it he probably wouldn't smell...or taste...all that good at the moment.
Mas forced a faint flicker of a smile onto his lips as he steeled himself for the inevitable brush off. Business before pleasure.t hat was the way things word...or...maybe?
MasD'aun's eyes lit up under the accents of eyeshadow and liner. His lips parted into a truely eager grin. This was...the first time Talisin had really suggested such a thing! And Mas leapt upon it like a starving dog would a squirming rat. "Ah! How utterly inconsiderate of me. Of course! Of Course! Talisin, after your long and obviously weary journey, would you allow me the honor of inviting you to be my guest for the evening? I could provide you with a bath and a meal of course. I would not dare dream of hindering your busniess here in the city but I would really love to hear about what you have been doing. I also have...much to share with you in turn, so I suppose there is a purpose for our discussion."

Again that faint smile crossed his lips, just as he had hoped Mas was inviting him home. It seemed that perhaps Lolth had taken a hand in things and was guiding Tal down the appropriate path. Regardless of whether it was fate or good fortune, Tal would hopefully be free of any money worries very soon. In truth though, Tal was just as eager to be with Mas as Mas was to be with Tal. While his priority at teh moment might have been to secure his future, it didn't change the fact Tal longed to share a bed with his lover again.
"There is always a purpose to our discussions, even if it's just deciding how much longer to waste staying in bed. I'd be happy to spend the evening with you Mas, my business isn't so pressing it can't wait until tomorrow and I've missed your company. There has been little in my life recently that can compare to you."
Tal reached up and ever so gently caressed Mas's cheek with his fingertips, before placing his hand on Mas's shoulder and steering him in the direction of his house. "Come on then. I'm rather eager to get this trail dust off of me."
As he started to walk, Tal turned and gave Mas a wide grin and a sultry look. "If you ask very nicely I might even let you help me scrub my back?" With another smirk, Tal resumed walking.

That smile, so faint as it was, would always make Mas's insides warm and melt. He adored that smile. Talisin could be speaking the most horrid of blashpmeies, so long as he smiled though MasD'aun would hardly take note or care. It was just...such a perfect face really. He was so handsome, and there as a glint of such prideful intelligence. How couldn't Mas find it alluring?
As he spoke of purposes in thier discussion, Mas placed a hand over his mouth to stifel a laugh. "How true...how very very true..." He conceeded. If it were not for the fact Talisin had his busniess to run, Mas was always inclined to squeeze every last minute he could int keeping the mage near to him. Mas knew he was a bit...spoiled. Yes, that had to be the word. In a House as lax as his he answered to no one but himself. He did not have to worry about running the Raiders. They oversaw themselves for the most part with some minor delegation that came to Mas with paperwork on hireings, profits, and expenses. Honestly...Mas was quite the pampered thing wasn't he?
When Tal stroked his cheek, Mas was hardly wondering about when the last time Tal had cleaned the travel dust from his fingers. He was more inclined to think about how skillful they were. What amazing things those fingers could do. His thoughts continued in that direction until it was Talisin began to steer him back up the street towards the House Barrith.
"Of course. As soon as we arrive I'll have some servants draw you up a bath." He paused then, and the sultry manner in which Tal was looking at him was noted. Mas felt his face flush with a youthful like eagerness. "Ah, well then, perhaps we should wait until we are back at the House before I ask. I do my best 'nice' when in private I think."
He wanted to pick up his pace, grasp Tal's hand, and hurry him along. So long as mas thought more about the physical exchange, he could worry less about the verbal. Perhaps after Tal had bathed, eaten, and indulged in some things carnal he would be in a very pleasent mood. Pleasent enough to overlook the bad new's he was going to have to share.
House Barrith loomed quickly enough before them. It's stone and dark iron gates seemed so bland in compare to the other decorated structures when Mas looked upon them. But... Since Talisin seemed so disinterested in his wealth, Mas hoped the mage found the simplistic structure, and the greater focus on a good fortification more pleaseing. As the pair of mages were granted unhindered access into the main hall, Mas turned to flash Tal a small grin. "Shall I have a guest room's bath prepared for you...or shall we make it simple and use my personal chambers?"

The smile never faltered from Taliesins lips, but his eyes were distant, lost in thought. Tal had been to House Barriths stronghold often enough that he could find his way on instinct. Despite his eagerness to be alone with Mas, Tal made himself walk at a sedate pace; in part to avoid giving anything away and making Mas wait a little longer in anticipation, but also to give himself more time to think. Tal still wasn't sure what he was going to do when they got there. Well he knew what he was going to do to Mas in the short term, his grin widening at thoughts of tonight's pleasures as he gave Mas a sidelong glance. But Tal still didn't know what he wanted to do in the long term.
He could just tell Mas the truth and ask for his aid, but lowering himself to begging for favours made Tal's bile rise. He would be little more than a pet to Mas and Tal had been struggling for his own independence since he first started down the road of a mage. Worse, what if Mas rejected Tal upon hearing of his change in fortunes? Tal suspected Mas liked strong men as partners and a part of him feared Mas might lose interest if Tal suddenly seemed weak. While only a slim risk, Tal refused to chance losing Mas' respect and adoration and the perks they brought.
As they reached the house, Tal decided he'd keep his financial predicament to himself. If he was lucky Tal might not have to even do anything, Mas often made generous overtures to him, but Tal had generally turned them down, now he'd just start accepting them more often. That was still too vague though, left too much to random chance and Mas's whims.
Tal pulled himself from his thoughts when he realised Mas was waiting for a response, doing a quick recap to try and recall what had just been said Tal just smiled and nodded to buy for time. "Oh...uhmmmm... Your rooms? Yes, I think that would be best. Well assuming you want me to spend the night, it would be convenient. You don't have any other plans for tonight do you?"
In the relative privacy of House Barrith, Tal let himself relax a little more and allowed himself the luxury of being nearer to Mas, placing one hand of the other mages shoulder, while again gently stroking his cheek. Tal's eyes moved slowly as they took in all the details on Mas's face. How he had missed that face, that delicate beautiful face. Tal ran his fingers from the cheek down along Mas's lower lip, his fingers tracing his lovers features gently so as to avoid messing up Mas's makeup. Tal always thought Mas used too much of the stuff, he was a handsome man, why should he need to cover that? But Tal knew Mas enjoyed the stuff, so said nothing, besides there'd be time enough to get it off later on.

He was embaressing himself. MasD'aun tried to scold himself, not for the first time, for allowing his eagerness to show through so much. He wanted to hurry up Talisin's pace so they could finally be alone. His heart was racing. With his gaze more directed to the fore, he was unaware of the distant look in his lovers eyes.
The response Talisin made had a definate distracted note to it though. It seemed...unlike him really. Something had to be on his mind. That busniess that he had mentioned perviously? Mas was uncertain, but he thought that perhaps the chance to spend time with him had been too tempting to pass up? Once he recieved Tal's answer though, Mas was quick to make a flourishing little gesture to one of servants posted in the hall. "Quick, go and draw a bath in my chambers" He commanded the boy before turning his attention back to Talisin.
His body very well leaned into the gentle touchs that Talisin gave him. He was uncertain what it was that the other was looking so intently at...but...well... It was him that he was looking at, and as such Mas felt a vain little flutter in his chest. For the next few moments MasD'aun felt partly mesmerised as Talisin traced his fingers over his face. "It must have been a very tiring trip for you Talisin. I would be grateful for the chance to offer you my Houses hospitality for the night." His blue eyes flickered up the hall, and he placed his hand upon the one that lightly rested upon his shoulder so he could begin to guide Talisin the familar route to his own chambers.
His mind would remain fixed upon Talisin, and his eyes drawn again and again to the mages bewitching features, until they had reached his own bedchambers.
Stepping within. Mas halted to one side of the door. He could smell the steam from the hot bath coming from one of the side doors. But it was not the bathroom that Mas walked to. No, instead it was to a door that joined his room with another suite. Mas tested it quickly, ensureing the locks on his side were in place, then turned to make a small fluttering motion.
"Now then. There was a mention of perhaps helping you with your bath I believe? Or would you prefer some privacy to soak the travel from your bones? I could send to the kitchen for a light meal to be brought up. Some wine and spiced rothe? Or something sweeter?"

Smirking, Tal placed his arms around Mas's waist drawing him close and placing a soft kiss against his forehead. "Normally I'd like nothing better than to share a bath with you, but we both know where that would lead us and it was a long trip... Were I not still tired from the road I'd carry you into the bath and strip you right now. For now though I think I'll bathe alone." Tal let out a short sigh and backed away slightly from Mas so he could look him properly in the eye. He really would like nothing more right then than to lie back and relax in a hot bath with a handsome drow in his arms.
However they'd been there often enough that Tal knew things would soon turn... Frisky. And at teh moment he was too weary and worried about his future prospects to give Mas his full attention and Tal didn't want to simply go through the motions. Mas's affections were too valuable to him to cheapen like that, they needed to be properly appreciated. With that thought in mind Tal finally pulled himself off Mas after planting one more kiss on his forehead.
"Still, thinking about me splashing about naked should put you in the right frame of mind for after dinner. Once I've freshened up and had something to eat I assure you I'll make the wait worthwhile."
With that Tal started towards the bathroom, already tugging at the fastenings of his robes. By the time he was at the door he was already stripped to the waist and paused briefly to give Mas one last smile before disappearing into the steam filled room to bathe "And no peeking, Mas!" It wasn't like Mas hadn't seen it all already, but Tal wanted to encourage the sense of anticipation and tease his lover a little bit more.

Oh yes. Now this is what he had been missing lately. Mas closed his eyes at that simple kiss to his brow. Feeling that slender but firm arm around his waist. Those soft and wonderful lips pressed upon him. MasD'aun indulged himself in a soft sigh before opening his eyes again.
"Ah...I understand. Very well Talisin. I'll see that a nice welcoming meal is waiting for you when you are finished..." His eyes swept down upon the cloths the other was wearing as he felt that second kiss upon his forehead. He felt a calming sensation with that kiss. Ah! Goddess! Something that felt as wonderful as merely being in Talisin's presence had to be sinful in some way. But...let the Goddess damn him for he would not give this up even to save his soul.
Mas placed a hand over his chest and smothered another sigh. The mere sight of Talisin slowly stripping on his way to the bathing chambers was a painful teaseing. Look at those shoulders. That perfect torso's frame... "Mmm... Such a image...and you really expect me not to peek? Oh you are quite cruel Talisin." Mas lifted a hand to wag his finger at the mage before he vanished into the room.
"If you leave your garmets by the door I'll have a servant clean them while you bathe. Unless you would not mind something new? I...have some lovely red colored robes that I've never worn before... I found they clashed a bit with my eyes..." And they had been purchased for the mage as a gift before he realized Talisin was going to turn down all of his attempts to spoil him...

Taliesin had climbed into teh hot bath and allowed himself a few moments to relax before calling back an answer. "Well if it's no imposition, I wouldn't mind a fresh set of clothes. It wouldn't do for me to turn up at my generous hosts table and not look civil after all." Taliesins own cloths were in dire need of a good clean, even as he sat in the bath and glanced over at them lying on the floor, he realised there were spots of soot, probably all that was left of his dearly departed mother, along with the general dust and grim one gathered moving through the Underdark. He had more clothes in his carry all, but those were probably crumpled and creased from the journey and not quite fit right now either.
Tal wanted to look his best, that was in part Mas's fault. Before becoming attached to teh other Mage, Tal wasn't nearly as image conscious. Egotistical certainly, but he hardly cared what he looked like most of the time, preferring functionality in his clothes. Now he oft times he found himself choosing an outfit more for form than function, just because he knew it would highlite his appeals and please Mas. Besides all of that there was also the fact Tal now had to start getting used to accepting Mas's tokens, if he was too direct it would feel like he was asking for hand outs, but if he simply took advantage of what was freely offered, there was no shame there right?
Sighing irritably Tal let himself sink into the warm relaxing waters until they reached his chin. He had little option but to look for aid form someone else now, at least until he was better placed to advance on his own, but it still felt like taking a step back. If he didn't play this right he could end up under Mas's thumb, at the mercy of his whims and generosity. Tal had spent too much effort to get out from under his witch of a Matron to end right back in the same situation.
Lying there, feeling his muscles relax and the tension ease from his body, Tal turned his mind to teh problems before him. He was only at risk of becoming dependant on Mas if he let himself. For now Mas was so generous to Tal because he feared losing him right? Of course Tal had little intention of leaving such willing and wonderful lover, but Mas didn't know that. And so long as Mas believed here was a risk of Tal leaving, he'd keep trying to buy his affections right? A small smile formed on Tal's lips as a plan finally began to take shape in his mind.
It was a little ambitious, but if it worked, Tal would not only be living comfortably off House Barriths riches, but given Mas' eagerness to please him, Tal would be all but running the house. He just needed patience, caution and some subtlety, a suggestion here, an idea whispered there. Planting them like seeds and then waiting to reap the rich harvest. Still he had other options in mind, less grand, but he had to make sure he didn't mess up like he did after killing his Matron and foolishly forgetting to secure his safety afterwards. Even if he couldn't get his way with House Barrith, he just needed to stay in Mas's good graces long enough to secure his future.
Yawning, Tal realised the warm waters were starting to make him sleepy and that could be risky. Not in so much that he might drown in the bath, he was more worried that Mas would come looking to see what was taking so long and take advantage of a sleeping naked Tal. Not an unpleasant notion, but Tal preferred to have as much control as he could in any situation.
Reluctantly pulling himself from teh bath, Tal quickly dried himself and then threw a bathrobe over himself and went into the next room to see if those spare clothes had arrived. "Mas? Are you out here?"

He said yes? MasD'aun had to shake himself out of the surprised state his mind locked in. He had said yes!! He wasn't particularly certain yet what this could mean...but it did leave Mas grinning very much like a fool as he ran to the chest he had stored the undelivered gift in. Opening the top, it was...terribly easy for Mas to find the paper wrapped package tucked in a corner of the chest. Other small packages and boxes were stored within the chest as well, all were gifts he had attempted to give to Talisin which had been respectfully declined. What was Mas to do with them? He had bought them for his lover, so he was not about to simply hand them off to another. He supposed he could have sent the gifts to one of the vaults, but there was a lingering possessiveness that Mas found himself dealing with. Even though the gifts had been declined, they had still been for Talisin and Mas was loathing to just store them in a musty vault.
Carrying the package to the door of his room, he opened it and eagerly thrust it into the hands of the servant standing outside. "Here. Take this and have it...I don't know...freshened up a bit. I want it as smooth and soft as spider silk as quickly as possible! If Talisin finishes his bath before it is ready I'll have you gutted and fed to the Raiders lizards still wriggling. Understand?" He spoke with a sterness to his voice that did not quite hide the eagerness beneath it. Talisin had said Yes!
"Also, I want a meal prepared for two brought up immediatly. Wine, something impressive for my guest, and a few other dishes. I don't care what, just so long as it looks and tastes like something you would serve the matron of the first House! I want the very best for my guest!" This would not be the first time Mas would have ordered such a meal of course, and he was certain the kitchen staff was used to his fussing over any visit Talisin ever made. However this time there was something extra to be added.
"Inform TrielNolu I will not be joining her for dinner and most likely breakfast as well due to my Guest. Inform her of my apologies and that I will make up my neglect of her at a later date. I do not wish to be disturbed until it is Talisin has taken his leave. Now..hurry along now!" His hand made a quick fluttering motion to shoo the wide eyed servant off. With the male running to do his bidding..that left Mas much time to fight the urge to peek in on Talisin.
It - Was - Torture.
Mas attempted to distract himself by fussing in his room. The bed in particular was of interest, as he kept pushing the pillows about from the foot of the bed to the head. His eyes kept slideing to the door of the bathroom at the smallest sound. The desire to just..peer through the door was incredible, but he did not want to give Talisin reason to take affront, reguardless of his flirting. He had actually accepted a gift! Well...not so much a gift in the sense of giving them. He most likely would have refused the robes had he known that Mas had purchased them for him specifically.
When the knock on his door came, Mas flung it open while exhibiting the same eager and jittery energy. If he kept this up, at the rate he was going he would be exhausted far too quickly once Talisin decided to...Hmm...yes... "Set the food on the table there, and pour me a glass of wine." He directed a pair of jester dressed slaves. Mas waved one of his silver tipped hands impaticently until the glass of wine was handed over to him. Wisely, he merely sipped at the drink. Becoming a little intoxicated would not be a smart move, it could lead to him speaking a bit more freely then was wise.
The clothing were returned by the out of breath servant. As they had been stored there had not been much that needed to be done. A little work on the faint creases and then assureing there was no dusty smell clinging to them. Mas was quite satisfied as he took the robe from the servant, then ushured the whole lot from his room.
So then, all was ready and in order when Talisin exited the bathroom in the robe. "Of course I am Talisin. It would be terribly rude of me not to be waiting for my guest after all!" Mas had seated himself in a chair to force himself to quit pacing and fussing with things that did not need fussing. His blue eyes fell upon the robe, lingering only a moment at the tie before he made a small hand gesture to where he had laid the crimson robe out on his bed. The garmet itself had been selected not only for the fact that it looked positively regal with it's gold trimming, but due in part to the sparkling garnet accents set in gold about the sleeves and hem.
"I hope it is suitable...?"
