Ever come across something good that is not well known? Or even come across something that's well known but you just discovered it? Wether it's an original or an arrangement of something old let us know!

I found an arrangement of: Mozart 40th Symphony in GM It is jazzed up by Gordon Goodwin's Big Phat Band. They also do a verson of: Bach 2 Part Invention in D Minor
Both are rather cool mrgreen

I was rather surprised to hear a big band arrangement of "Giant steps." It was taken a bit slower than Trane took it, but worked quite well all the same. I'll try to find out the name of the arranger and post it.

We just got Sig Ep from the Woody Herman Band which resembles Doxy quite a bit, chord changes and simular licks. It's a great moderate swing tune though great for competing at festivals if your in a highschool band.

I played Bach's Little Fugue in G Minor arranged as a saxophone quartet in high school, and more recently found some jazz/classical-hybrid sax quartets written by Sammy Nestico. eek
I'm also in love with JW's score to Catch Me if You Can

Actually, I was really surprised to hear a big band arrangement of the second movement to John Coltrane's A Love Supreme. It was done by the Lincoln Center and they did a soli of Trane's solo on it that went through every section in the band.
