User ImageWind rushed thundered passed in a thunder of adrenaline and laughter. Rickety booths, parked hover cars and pedestrians blurred passed in smudges of color as the rocket messenger zipped through the crowds with an ease that came with countless hours of practice. The few pedestrians that didn't hear the blaring noise of the skater's small radio that was strapped to her hip dodged out of the way with obscenities launched her way. Giggling in delight with only a slight glance back at the angered citizens, Jezza Berenger zipped on her way in a blaze of speed, jumping over obstacles and slipping through crowded sidewalks with grace.

The sun is shining. Work is flowing in. How can life get any better than this? She thought happily as she rolled down the last street to her destination. Four deliveries just today! It looks like Berenger Fleet is raking in the dough! And those boys thought that a woman couldn't make it in the Rocket Message business. HA! With an extra clip in her skip, Jezza powered down her rocket skates, dashed into a business and went about her duty delivering her message.

User ImageMathias sighed gustily and tossed the last of his paperwork into the floating bin near his desk. With a high pitched buzz, the floating bin ignited the paper, instantly vaporizing it before hovering away. Mathias leaned on his elbows on the table, placed his fingertips together then fanned them out, tapping his thumbs with his lips in deep thought. From the moment he had entered the door of the World Embassy, he had endured torturous meeting after meeting of people from around the world chewing out another for some reason or another. Some days he couldn't help but wonder if they did it just to irritate him.

"Mr. Berenger?" A voice called from the doorway, dragging his attention upward.

A thin, serene looking woman standing regally in the archway, her high heels adding to her six foot height. Her blond hair was swept back in a loose bun that seemed to hold her thin glasses on her nose. She looked at him was surprised eyes as a warm smile graced her lips.

"Yes, Misty?"
Mathias inquired, leaning back in his large chair.

"Will you be staying late, sir?" Misty asked curiously; Mathias shook his head.

"Not tonight, Misty. I am going home in a moment to spend some time with my sister." Mathias explained, standing.

"Very well, sir. I will let the other delegates know." The secratary announced sweetly. "Have a great night, sir." With a final head bob that Mathias took as a bow, Misty turned and strode away.

"Good night, Misty." He called after her, but she disappeared down the hallway.

User ImageMoad uselessly wished once again that he had a different summer job. How is a boy suppose to get a girl when he smelled like garbage? Verada's face flashed in his mind, her nose wrinkled in disgust. I had no chance before I smelt like dead fish. Now. . . Moad's thoughts were interrupted by his face hitting the ground, he looked around as he got back on his feet. A mound of trash partially covered the object that had tripped him. It was an arm, no, it was a body. The upper torso and left arm stuck out of the three day bad fast food, it was covered in black cloth and a hard white metal; it looked almost in-human. Moad poked the body's arm. The lack of movement calmed and worried him at the same time. After staring at the hand for some time he decided to pull out the body. He firmly grasped the arm at the wrist and gave pull. The body slid out of the pile of rotten food and landed on Moad. This has got to be the nastiest thing that has ever happened to me. Moad sighed and scooted out from under the body. Better get the manager, the police will want to hear about this, maybe there is a reward. Do they give rewards for finding bodies? Moad's thoughts trailed off as he headed for the main station. Fifteen minutes later three men following Moad arrived at the sight.
“It is just right here, the strangest thing ever I was walking and I just tr. . .”Moad stared in disbelief, “It. . . it's gone.”
“Moad,”One of the men growled, “You'll do anything to get out of a days work, won't you. Stupid boy. . . get back to work.”
Moad sighed to himself, “Can't a guy do anything right?”

User Image The Pink hover car sped down the outlined flyway. The driver glanced at the glowing clock digits. Twelve hours, I have been driving for twelve hours this move better be worth it Alian glared out of her windshield. Images of the house and friends she was leaving behind continually interrupted her concentration. I need to concentrate on the good things, I get a new house The landlord said I could decorate anyway I want. Maybe there will be a cute boy next door. . . Her concentration was again broken, this time by her beautiful new house that she had only seen pictures of. Alian Jumped out of he craft, "AGH!!!" she squealed. "Look. . . its. . . Gah, so totally worth twelve hours!" Her joy burst out and expressed itself in movement, which in the past had been come to be known as The Public Sun Dance. A cat stopped to watch and Alian continued her wiggle.

"Geez, Jezza, think you have enough food?" Mathias chided softly while the thick reusable, grocery bags that dangled on his wrists bounced against his calves as he walked. He was answered by a swift elbow in the arm.

Mathias tried out his most intimidating scowl on his younger sister as she skated around him in her usual boasting fashion. How she could stay on those skates without breaking every bone in her body, he would never know. With her cheerful smile, Jezza slowed down to skate alongside her brother, her own load of grocery bags bouncing at her sides.

"Now hush, Mathias!" She snarled playfully. "You take care of the utilities and it is my job to provide the food with my paycheck which is what I plan to do." She shot a sideways glance at him."Forgive me for not being able to survive on the tiny list of groceries you do."

"I am merely thrifty, Jezza. A word you don't know the meaning of." Mathias retorted irritably as they rounded the last corner that lead to their apartment.

"Oh, tosh. You are thrifty enough for the both of us." Jezza waved away airily.

Jezza stopped in her tracks and Mathias bumped into her. Grumbling, he looked at what had his sister's attention. The sight of a strange girl dancing in front of their apartment caught his eye. She looked like she was trying to shake off a bee! Mathias looked to Jezza in surprise which Jezza merely shrugged at.

"I wonder what has her cavorting herself in such a fashion?" Mathias thought idly, gazing at the stranger.

"The only way to know is to ask." Jezza piped in, winked at him then skated off in between traffic.

Mathias went to call after it but thought better of it, deciding to follow along. Jezza, not really bothering to care if Mathias was following her, skated to a halt into front of the dancing stranger, smiling kindly.

"Hello. Are you new around here? Is something wrong?" Jezza asked rapidly, smiling.

User Image Alian heard a voice, she turned and found a girl floating on skates and a man in a suit walking behind her.
"...here? Is something wrong?"
"Um... no, I mean yes... gah sorry... nothing is wrong," Alian looked at the cat and whispered "Thanks for the warning, just let them sneak up on me like that."
The cat meowed and started rubbing up against Alian's legs.
"Now you are trying to make up. Well, it is too late" Alian looked up from the cat and suddenly remembered the two people.
"Oh, I am sorry. I am Alian. Spelled like Alien with an A not an E. I think I am your new neighbor!"Alian pumped her arms in the air to emphasize her excitement and automatically approached the floating girl with hugging intentions.

Jezza continued to grin warmly as Alian talked, thinking idly to herself that Alian would fit in well amongst their neighbors. The whole fact that Alian was talking to the stray cat that lived around the neighborhood proved that she a mentally stable person. Without a second thought, Jezza embraced Alian back, a smile beaming on her face. She held her new friend close for a moment.

"It is awesome to meet you, Alian!" Jezza replied cheerfully. "My name is Jezza Berenger and this is my brother, Mathias." Jezza stepped aside so that Mathias could offer his hand in a handshake.

"Welcome to the neighborhood, Ms. Alian." Mathias greeted with a charming smile that was not really intended to be.

Whether she accepted or not, Jezza would shift her groceries into one hand and skated towards Alian's hover craft, floating around it to look it over. She then turned to Alian's new house and thought for a moment at how wonderful it would be to have another woman in the prominently male neighborhood. With one smooth movement, she skated back over to Mathias and proceeded to rid him of his groceries.

"I just had a stroke of genius, Alian. How about Mathias help you move your stuff in and I will cook us some dinner that we can all have together? We would love to have you over for dinner!"

User Image"That would be wonderful! I haven't had a chance to go shopping yet; I just got here. Literally like two minutes ago." Alian Chimed. This new neighbor was intriguing, she was also very fast. Turning to Mathias, whom she had determined was quite a hansom man, she said, "I would appreciate your help, also. If it is not to much trouble." Without waiting for the answer, Alian opened up her car trunk. Jezza and Mathias the first two names for me to remember, I have never been good with names. Alian thought as she pulled out her favorite gothic chandelier, Black crystal and tainted copper. Alian turned to Mathias, "Here you go, this goes in the living room. Oh, and do you perchance happen to know where I can buy velvet, lots of velvet."

User ImageRichard was completly lost, I want my mom, where is she? His thoughts were filled with confusion and terror. The seven year old boy sat down in a puddle his back against a brick wall. "Mom. . . mom. . . mom?" Richard mumbled to himself as he stuck his head between his knees. He heard footsteps and looked up. There was a man in a super-hero costume, he had white armor, and a mask with no holes. Richard stood up his mouth agape; the man stopped and turned towards Richard.
"Are you here to save me?" Richard asked
"Gzru sidh zjsid szsaiz" the man continue to make strange noises as he turned away and continued walking down the ally.
Richard stood in the ally watching the man as he disappeared around the corner.
"RIchard! I have been looking everywhere for you. Are you okay?" Richard was spun around and snatched up in a hug.
"I am fine mom, I have a super hero."

{{Did we establish how Rob and Jezza were going to meet?}}

Mathias gave Alian a charming smile but shot Jezza a warning look once Alian turned towards her car. Jezza smiled back with her usual, disarming smile. Mathias let out a surrendering breath, yanked at his tie until it slid from his neck and slipped out of his expensive suit jacket to place it in his unnaturally cheerful twin's arms.

With one shove of her foot, Jezza glided away while delivering a wink to her brother. Fate, now the reins are yours, she whispered to the heavens as a bubbly feeling brimmed from within her. Humming a soft tune to herself, Jezza slid gracefully to the door to the small house that had grown to be called home. A small twinge of remorse filled her chest for a moment as a memory of her parents welled up in her mind before she dashed it away with a chirpy smile. Quietly she disappeared into the house with fabulous ideas for dinner dancing in her mind.

Once Jezza disappeared into their house, Mathias felt a small smirk itch at the corner of his lips. No matter how many things his sister could get him into, he always seemed to find himself loving her at the end despite her quirky ways. Letting out one more sigh, Mathias rolled up his sleeves, unbuttoned the top buttons of his shirt and turned to aid Alian with her gothic chandelier, trying his best to strike up a conversation with the girl that reminded him so much of his sister.

It would no doubt take several hours for Mathias to finish unloading Alian's things, but Jezza used the time wisely. When she was done, food covered the table. A salad, chicken cordon blue and rock lobster sat steaming among a couple small desserts. For the first time in a long time, she even brought out her mother's glass dishes and metal silverware instead of having destructible eating utensils provided by their Food Materializer. Satisfied that she had made a good meal, Jezza walked, in her sneakers, next door and stepped into Alian's house without knocking.

"Hey, peeps!" She yelled into the house. "Enough work. Dinner is ready!"

User ImageAlian did not stop chattering, she was sure that Mathias didn't mind. He seemed like such a nice man. In the middle of a story about her head and a metal gate Jezza walked in the door, giving Alian a mini heart attack, but the sentence "Dinner is ready" quickly revived her.

"So what are we having?" Alian questioned Jezza as she looped her arm through Jezza's and stared walking towards Jezza's house.

User ImageHis world had gotten darker as he watched a large globe of light disappear. his legs tightened and burned, he hadn't stopped walking since the garbage man woke him up. HIs brain burned with the images and sounds he had encountered through out his walk. The little boy sitting in the ally, that one was the strongest. A feeling had come with the image, a sense of understanding. He had felt a need to communicate the feeling. But his sounds did not match the boy's sounds. He sat against the ally wall next to a large metal box, the smell was the same as where he had awoken, it brought a relief, a small sense of familiarity. With this thought he fell asleep.

"Well, I didn't really know what you would like, Alian." Jezza stated, holding Alian's arm companionably. "I have rock lobster from Japan, chicken cordon blue and some other desserts that my mother taught me. Maybe later we will have..." Jezza continued to talk, leading her new friend into her house next door.

Mathias rolled down his dress shirt sleeves and buttoned them in his usual business charm. Pulling out a cloth handkerchief, he wiped the perspiration from his forehead then tucked it back into his pocket. He followed along behind the chatting girls, Jezza's words drifting off into the air. Once they entered into the house, Jezza swept Alian into the dining area while Mathias finished buttoning up his shirt.

How was it that his sister was able to become "friends" with every person she seemed to run into? It was true that Alian seemed to be a charming young woman that seemed to be from the social group as his sister. And how was it that a girl like Alian could have so many creepy belongings stuffed into such a tiny vehicle?

"Mathias, how long are you going to just stand there and stare at us?" Jezza called from her seat at the table beside Alian.

It was only then that he realized that he had indeed been staring and right at Alian nonetheless! It figures that he would be caught in such a position. He quickly gathered himself and regained his composure.

"I was merely surprised that our guest had not killed herself by now in your presence." Mathias replied, moving to sit at the table across from the girls. Jezza stared at him; he stared back. Jezza merely smiled understandingly.

"Well, let us begin eating." Jezza announced, beginning to dish out food.

{{After dinner, Jezza will run into Rob.}}

User Image Alian was starving, the house smelt so good. She almost didn't notice Mathias staring at her, almost. She had to admit to herself that he was an interesting man; he didn't double take when she pulled out the stuffed cougar out of her trunk. Most people at least asked her about it, but her house was in order and she could not complain about Mathias' company, or his sister's cooking.

Who knew Jezza was such an amazing cook. Alian was not looking forward to cooking for herself, even with the processors she managed to turn everything grey and tasteless. But for now she enjoyed the lobster and the company.
"How long have you two been living here? What do you do for a living? NO! Wait, how old are you two?" Alian could not help but question the two of them, her inquiries slipped out between the bites of chicken and salad.
