 Well wasn’t this just a nice pile of hraka.
An unseasonable wind was currently raging outside the warren. Nuthatch had never seen anything like it in his short life. All the rabbits huddled inside, silflay would be impossible at the moment. Stepping outside felt an awful lot like what ‘Hatch imagined getting torn to shreds by a lot of pfeffa must be like; even sounded somewhat similar as the wind rushed across the burrows of the warren. He had tried going out earlier when it seemed things were starting to settle; but quickly hopped back down the burrow when the winds picked up; it felt like his fur and ears were being ripped off.
Disgruntled and annoyed, the buck wandered aimlessly through the burrows, standing still for a moment each time the wind howled. It really was rather eerie, and made him shudder. Probably explained why it was so quiet in the warren, many of the others seemed to be snuggled into their burrows; waiting out the storm.

 For one doe, not even the black rabbit himself could pull her away from her digging. If anyone had a keen eye for expansion it was most certainly Rosemallow, the one female who had, without a doubt, likely helped to aid the ever increasing need for more burrows with her constant obsessing.
At times it was hard to tell which was louder; her constant digging or the terrifying, mourning howls from above the ground. It was curious behaviour, on her part. Often digging were left to the does and the mates of them who were but expecting kittens. Yet here she was, digging, alone, and clearly with no litter in her belly from her timid size.
It was however hard work, and she slowly came to a halt, considering going up for silflay. Naturally, with all her concentration, she hadn't even noticed the sounds of the strong winds lashing across the downs, and so a sudden wail from above caught her by surprise, her fur bristling up as she crouched low in her newly constructed burrow.

Annoyed, hungry, and now bored as well, Hatch started to explore the tunnels much like a cooped up kitten. The only problem was he knew where most of them led now that he'd traveled a good many of them in his adulthood. Well, not all of them.
It was considered just slightly rude to visit the new tunnels that were often used for birthing. Many a doe had scraped out a new place for herself and her coming kittens in a deeper part of the warren, and there would be quite a few new dens during this season. Places he'd never seen. But, was it really worth the risk of coming across a doe in the midst of birthing? For the hrair'th time, Nuthatch thanked Frith he was born a buck.
Sniffing down the way, he could scent nothing beyond warm rabbit and earth. Outside he could hear the storm, and his ears twitched as its screeching voice hit high pitches. It was also rather dim in the warren, with little light being offered by the outside world. He sat there for a few minutes more before taking a ginger step forward. Then an idea struck him. He could scurry along fast through the tunnel to the end! Then he could see where it led without perhaps catching sight of anything he didn't want to see. Nodding on this idea to himself, he readied himself and dashed along the run, not looking from side to side at the branch offs or nests along the way. This tunnel was a lot longer than he imagined, and there was a stirring of awe in him at the magnitude of this side of the warren. it was just then that while he marveled at its size that the path ended. He sat in a slight stupor and looked around, noting that this part smelled like freshly dug earth. Actually, most of the burrows branching off in this part of the tunnel smelled rather new.
