Cannogakure's Ninja Academy is on the back of an ancient Leviathan known as Reaver. The Beast itself is one of the oldest in the village, supporting a massive, towering structure upon its back that reaches up over 100 feet above the leviathan.

Reaver Academy consists of 3 main structures:

The Labs: The smallest spire, which consists solely of "Classrooms" stacked one upon another, with a spiralling staircase upon the outside of the tower to access each room. The Labs are where theory and basic education are taught, as well as where tests and exams tend to be conducted under the careful watch of elder ninja.

The Vaults: The second tallest of the spires upon the great leviathan's back. The Vaults are a repository of the collected information of the village. The lower floors are open to Academy students, as they contain the information they will need to graduate, whereas the higher upon the spire it is, the more restricted the material is. At the highest level are their greatest secrets, sealed and guarded heavily against spies and traitors.

The Jungle: The largest of the spires. The Jungle is the Live Fire training area of Cannogakure, where academy students are put through dangerous, physical training to assess thier talents and reinforce learned theories into practical application. The Jungle is a hallowed out spire, open from the top all the way to the Leviathan's back. Several braces and beams crisscross its interior, chains, ropes, vines, and other hanging objecticals, tools, and dangers are often draped from these beams. The walls of The Jungle are especially reinforced to keep wayward jutsu from damaging the neighboring spires.

The woman had lead the way to the Reaver. An awe inspiring sight, if Verito was capable of enjoying it. It likely would be the first Leviathan he'd see, focused on the ground as he was, and trussed up by the bandit earlier. The woman stopped next to a large leg that rivaled the size of the largest and eldest of trees, almost the size of a building itself. She woudl wait for the kid to look up, and if he refused, pull back gently on his head until he did look upwards at the Leviathan.

It dwarfed anything in Getsu most likely. A creature, a lizard of dark mottled greys and greens. It's sheer bulk was mind boggling, 420 yards from the far head to the short stubby tail of the creature. It was wide as well, a good 60 yards from shoulder to shoulder. Around the beast a rig was built, scaffolding and bracing which allowed a massive series of buildings upon its back. Towers which loomed ominously near the edge, barbettes with strange devices, large machines of war speaking of its long storied history as a Siege Leviathan before the academy was transfered to its noble back.

High off the ground, the only way up as it stood now were several ropes. The woman had led Verito to the "Easy" rope, with knots in it every foot. Most of the lines from the Reaver's back had fewer, if any such help.

"At the top you'll find your clothes, food, and instructor. If you cannot make it up... then you're mine."

An evil smile came upon her grim, hard face.

Verito did indeed require the tug on his ponytail to be shown the Leviathan, and even as tears stung his eyes he was impressed by it. An impossible creature like something out of a fairytale, a beast that had somehow been tamed and manipulated into a moving fortress. The Tamahome sort of stuttered at the sheer impossibility of what he was seeing as he was led to the easy rope, turning to the woman when she spoke.

And suddenly, miraculously, he cracked a smile.

"I scored a perfect in gymnastics. I still hold the Academy record for acrobatic skill."

It was true. Apart from his brother, the only Verito had aside from his knack for facts was his acrobatic prowess.
He gripped the first knot tightly, feeling his muscles threaten to cramp but now somewhat excited, for this was his element.
He grabbed the second knot, and, assured that cramps would not overcome him, he began to climb. And climb. And climb.
It was astonishing to watch, really; he was more monkey than boy, practically hurling himself from one knot to the other, legs barely touching the rope except for balance.
And then he was at the top, hurling himself over the edge and onto the Reaver Leviathan, panting but self-satisfied, sort of amazed that he had accomplished such a task on his own.

"Oh dear," It was really unnerving when you look in one direction, sneeze, then find a total stranger in the same place. The dark-skinned child-no teenager blinked deep chocolate brown eyes at the sight then frowned heavily. Although normally not too suspsicious the young student wasnt very happy someone had snuck up on him, especially someone who seemed to be of either genin or academy rank.

"Hey!"

Tensai wasnt that high on the Lab staircase but didnt want to risk a injured limb from the fall so he quickly darted down the stairs. Easily skipping the last four steps the young student strode toward Verito, carefully slicking his hair backwards to give himself a sharp look. Lifting his chin up and puffing out his chest he eyed Verito with obvious suspicion,

"Who are you and what are you doing here?"

An old pair of eyes watched over the two students carefully. A woman sat in a wooden chair near the bottom of the stairs, right past where Tensai ran. She seemed nearly dead, barely moving at all as the two students met each other for the first time. She was bundled up in a heavy robe, drab grey in color, a thick woolen blanket, dark green, was wrapped around her shoulders, covering her down to her toes. She had thin grey hair, and skin damaged by the sun, wrinkled like an old catchers mit. Her eyes were sunken back into her head, her mouth open just slightly, breathing slowly as she witnessed what was occuring at the edge of the Reaver Academy Leviathan.

A small boned, brunette haired girl deftly climbed down the stairs from the Lab, skipping the last few in a jump. Feeling the jar of her landing she reached a hand over her shoulder, to pat a rather large war hammer that was strapped on her back. Certain that it was secure, she looked around the edge of the Reaver with proud grey eyes.

A newcomer was talking to another boy, one she recognized but couldn't name, not that she could name that many people outside her clan.

He's not in my class at least. But I really should know him.

She began to scrunch her nose in thought, but stopped herself. Staal's do not scrunch noses, she inwardly sighed as she remembered the grandmother that drove that point home with a rod.
Then her face broke out in her trademarked crooked smile as she remembered what she had done to said grandmother's favorite dagger in retribution. That particular prank was worth the extra lessons in discipline.

He's very suspicious. her eyes narrowed at the newcomer, and she decided to walk over there, trying to look as intimidating as possible, which given her small stature, wasn't very. Her numerous scars at least helped, and she wiped the smile from her face.

She came to the two boys, and her proud grey eyes scanned the unrecognized one, Out of breath? she gazed next to him, seeing the end of the rope, He must have just climbed up here then.

"Pathetic," she said, "If you are tired already then you have no business coming here." with that she turned on her heel and walked back towards the Academy's spires, heading towards the Jungle.

Neither boy saw the crooked smile come back as she walked away, "Now if you want to become stronger you could follow me." He has no clue! He doesn't even have a coin to buy one with! How did someone so weird end up here?

Damn it all, she was intrigued, and Staal's never got intrigued... or at least she was fairly certain they didn't. She looked back at the two boys, "Incidentally, my name's Tamar. Now are you going to just stand there all day, proud that you actually got up here, or are you going to try and survive the actual school?"

With a sharp turn of his head, Tensai focused his brown eyes upon the girl that approached the two. Instantly he flinched at the sight of her scars, actually a bit threatened by this small girl with a large...warhammer mounted on her back.

He shuddered visible and swallowed deeply, thankful his dark skin hid the growing blush on his cheeks. He immediately focused on her warhammer. During this moment of turmoil he missed most of what she said picking up words like "stronger...follow...Tamar...survive..sch-"

!

He finally noticed a heavily clothed woman sitting on a chair. A very old woman. Although he would later berate himself for being so rude he turned to look carefully at this, almost dead looking, prune of a thesaurus and tried to determine whether she was breathing. In doing so he totally just annoyed Tamar, although not on purpose.

Moving cautiously he began to approach this old woman.

[[sorry, internet failure....I'm back.]]

Verito had risen to his feet triumphantly, about to answer Tensai when the girl showed up. He ignored the hammer. And the scars. In fact, he didn't see her as threatening at all. If the boy had been a little bit older, he would've crushed on her instantly, enraptured in a torrent of pure puppy love. As it was, he simply felt a longing to be approved by her.
What a fool, unaware of the irony of the situation: He a slave, she a Staal.
Her approval was harder to reach than the moon. He gazed at her patiently, and, when she finished, he found himself unable to find words.

So he followed Tensai sullenly toward the old woman, whispering to his fellow,

"Who's she?"

Verito had very much intended to find out who Tamar was, but context would probably lead Tensai to believe he was wondering about the old woman on the chair, whom Verito had yet to really notice.

After walking a bit further, Tamar turned her head again to see if the boys were following. They weren't.

She almost huffed. They're ignoring me! but then stopped for two reasons.
The first being that Staals do not huff in annoyance.
The second being she also saw the older woman that the recognized boy was approaching, the unknown boy simply following him.

Wait a second... I don't think I ever saw her there before. This time she did scrunch her nose in thought, She's one of the village elders most definitely, but who?

Annoyed at herself with not recognizing an elder, Most likely a Tam though..., she found herself turning around and walking back towards her.

Why do I get the feeling that something big is about to happen?

The woman's eyes seemed to lock upon Tensai as he approached her. She otherwise did not move, but there was definately a sense of focus and awareness dawning upon the old woman. Her mouth cracked open just a hair, a heavy breath coming out slowly, the scent of smoke and medicines drifted out towards Tensai on that breath, a choking stench.

A smile drew on her face, her wrinkles bunching up, giving her face an appearance like worn leather.

"Is it classtime already?" she asked. Her tone seemed to suggest she wasn't aware of where, or when, she was. Her eyes looked from Tensai, to Verito, and back, waiting for an answer from the pair.

"Who are you?"

Verito felt the time to make a good impression had come, but his mind was still jumbled from the girl, from Tensai, from being dragged hundreds of miles away from home and given meager excuses for meals....

Needless to say, it was a lot of sensory input.

Verito stepped forward and bowed deeply, the most respectful thing he knew. When he spoke, his voice was still small.

"Tamahome Verito, ma'am."

"I dunno," was the muttered answer to the unknown boy, thinking he was talking about the old fossil before them. He was thinking about reach out to touch her when an overwhelming stench filled his nose and he reeled backwards. A disgusted expression washed over his face while he frantically wrinkled his nose, trying to force the smell away.

He barely heard the unrecognised boy nearby give his name but managed to organise his expression and give a decent answer to the old woman. He suspected she may be there teacher but he didnt think someone so old and weak looking could teach much.

"Tensai Kana"
"-ma'am," he added hastily.

He had finished his climbing and headed into the building, Finding a random proctor and asking where the office was and was led there. then he met the main person of the academy. after all was said, he was taken by a helper and lead to his class room.

Yoshimitsu was pushed into the class room by the helper and he fell with was a total embarrassment. But he quickly got up and walked over to the teacher and handed her a official note telling her why he was there.

After he was given the ok, he stood away from everyone else sitting in the front corner because well, he want anyone brothering him.

The old lady that was Teaching them had a foul smell to her Like his mom's turtle" s Waste pile or maybe what the Beast's underbelly smells like. His Nose crinkled a little.

"I am Yoshimitsu Shihouin." he announced himself when heard others announcing their names to the class and bowed.

((Hey Yoshi. Remember that "The Giant" was down on the ground. You're now on top of a large beast some 80 feet in the air. So he's not near you. Also read the above posts to get an idea of what's going on, right at the "Landing" where another character just climbed up. Thus presumably right where you'd appear.))

Tamar edged closer to the two boys and the elder. She heard the old woman speak and then the boys give their names, making mental notes so that she would remember which name went with which face.

Burning with curiosity, despite the tiny voice that screamed at her it was unbecoming to one of her clan and rank, she stepped over to where they were, but kept a slight distance in an attempt to calculate the elder's purpose.

She fought the urge to reel with disgust as the smell from the old woman hit her, She smells like she's been cleaning the leviathan's underbelly!

Composing herself, she continued to watch the three.
