Your Name: Autumnvicky2
Name of Character Mewtwo
Pokemon or Human Starter: Pokemon Starter
Age (approximate in Pokemon's case, i.e. Child, Teen, Adult, etc...): Adult
Gender: Male...others say it's genderless but I distinctly consider it male. It SOUNDS male, it ACTS male...it even LOOKS male!
Starting Stage (Pokemon or human): Pokemon
Some Physical Trait Suggestions for Human Side if Starting as a Pokemon: Longer fingers with nails, more fingers, maybe a thumb, more toes, purple head hair, changing ear and nose shape, Two 'necks' merge to form a thicker one? Better vocal cords so he can speak?
Personality if starting as pokemon: If you really think about it he's like a moody teenage boy. Passive Aggressive, calculating, hateful towards scientists and Giovanni, disobedient without proper 'motivation,' sullen, misunderstands things sometimes and jumps to conclusions, used to be arrogant, picked a fight with mew just to prove he's stronger, destroyed entire buildings when he got pissed off, tends to dramatize things a little like most teens do, polite only when he wants to be...but he has a good side, just as most teenage boys also have a good side. He's a good leader, with the kind of charisma others naturally follow, he's self confident, philosophical, Mewtwo's curious, full of questions, observant, loyal, protective of those he cares about, non-violent most of the time, believes in destiny, wants a purpose, and most of all, wants to find peace at last. His life hasn't really given him much of a chance for the peaceful and quieter kind of normal life regular pokemon and people get to experience. In the Mewtwo Returns movie he commented often about living in peace.
History: Nothing is known about Mewtwo's history, and he can't speak to tell it. That is, if he even wanted to. The humans don't know who he is or where he came from. All they know is what TV reports and blood tests show them.
There was a multiple bomb explosion in Saffron City, a tall skyscraper collapsed. Surviving victims claimed that a large purple pokemon they'd never seen before tried to save them with a psychic barrier but the weight of the building and a second explosion broke through the barrier and crushed or buried them under a large pile of rubble. The purple pokemon disappeared. Later, trainers claimed to see an injured pokemon matching the same description. The creature appeared confused and violent upon approach but it would always escape instead of attack.
Scientists discovered the pokemon unconscious and with serious injuries. The biggest injury was a second 'neck' severed completely in half. Another serious wound involved a deep cut in one ear. Blood tests revealed that the creature had unique DNA comparable to the legendary Mew. Surgery was done to stitch the second neck back together but the nerves never connected again. It was like a spinal cord being severed. Only he's not paralyzed physically, he's damaged mentally. He cannot use his psychic powers at all.
Despite this disappointment of the loss of his powers he was sent to Cronus Island for research. The scientists there are hopeful that splicing him with human DNA may repair the damage. Think of the health discoveries they'd become famous for! The ability to repair nerve damage!
Strengths: List below!
1.) Resistance - Resistant to fighting and psychic type attacks.
2.) Leadership Charisma - The clone pokemon followed Mewtwo, even in the second movie. Even Giovanni noticed. I quote him: 'So, you wish to defy me as your leader has. Very well then, I'll crush you too.' End of quote. Maybe the reason is because Mewtwo's their creator or maybe it's his personality, extreme loyalty, and kind heart. Whatever the reason, it seems like a strength to me. The ability to gather groups, organize them with a common goal and lead/protect them. Good leaders take on the responsibility and well-being of the group on their shoulders. Their willing to take the credit when things are good and the blame when things are bad.
3.) Mind Reading - He can still read your mind, he can't take over your mind like he did Nurse Joy, but he can still hear your thoughts. He'll know what your going to do before you do it. That is, if he's listening in to what your thinking. Psychics tend to tune that out and switch off that ability, too noisy. There's a limitation on this though, he can't use mind reading in battle. Mind reading takes concentration, while he needs to focus on the battle. Pokemon and people think too fast and change their minds far too easily to effectively read during a fight. This way, it does NOT give him an advantage in battle, everyone's even. He's not invincible.
4.) Strength - He's taller than most humans, he's got thick muscular thighs and legs that could deliver a good kick, a hard plated chest and a big tail. Once he grows used to moving around more and learns how to battle using his own body instead of his mind he'll be a force to be reckoned with. Height: 6'07" Weight: 269.0 lbs
5.) Speed - He has big long legs, I know he can walk, but I'll bet he can really run really fast if he tried. Maybe even jump like a kangaroo!
6.) Senses - It's often said that if one of your senses are lost, the other senses grow better. In response to being pretty much deaf in one ear his sense of sight and smell have grown better.
Weaknesses: List Below...
1.) Deafness/Partial loss of hearing in one ear - this is because of Meniere's Disease, gained from the accident.
2.) Meniere's Disease - Also known as endolymphatic hydrops, is a disorder affecting the fluids of the inner ear. Normally, the fluids of the inner ear move in response to sound waves to allow us to hear and in response to head movement to give us our sense of position. With Meniere's Disease, there is an excessive amount of fluid within the inner ear chamber. In most cases only one ear is involved, although it may be seen in both ears in 15 to 20% of patients. Classic Meniere's Disease is characterized by intermittent attacks of vertigo, hearing loss, ringing and fullness of the ear. Vertigo is the sense of spinning dizziness. Attacks last from 20 minutes to as long as several hours and may be associated with nausea and vomiting. The frequency of the attacks is variable and unpredictable. The hearing loss may fluctuate, just as with the attacks of vertigo. Tinnitus and fullness may also fluctuate unpredictably. The severity of the symptoms is variable and may only be a nuisance or become disabling. There are pills that can be taken to relieve and control the symptoms, but surgery is required to completely cure the disease and results from the surgeries are variable. He has to lie down during vertigo attacks, they can occur suddenly and without warning.
Information about the disease found here!
3.) Deflated ego - He once thought himself to be the most powerful pokemon in the world and now he has lost all of those powers he thought made him great. He'll regain a few abilities but they'll be weaker than before and they won't come back for a while. His arrogance will not hold up against the weaknesses he has gained. He won't be boasting with pride anymore, and he'll learn a great deal about humbling yourself. It'll be a sore topic for a while, people and pokemon alike could taunt him with it. He wouldn't be able to do much about it either, fighting's dangerous and risky with his injuries. He'd probably lose.
4.) Certain Attacks - Being a psychic he'll be weak to ghost, dark and bug type moves.
5.) Fears - He's afraid of darkness, of closed spaces, being smothered, trapped, fire, and loud noises. These fears are likely to be emotional trauma from the accident. He flat out refuses to call them phobias because they are not excessive or irrational.
6.) Injuries - He will be recovering for a long time. The wounds he has sustained will weaken him. They are not life-threatening, and don't involve his limbs but they are still serious enough that fighting in a battle would be dangerous for him.
Future Plans for Character or Any Extra Info: I plan to involve him in several future plots. Once legendary pokemon join the scene there are likely to be some juicy plots hanging around. With my joy of roleplaying, and love of Mewtwo, I won't disappear. Mewtwo will gain and loose a lot here, but along the way he'll learn several valuable life lessons he wished he'd known when he was still free. He'll adopt a purpose in life on the island, trying to protect other subjects from harm, make life better for them. His past experience with labs and Team Rocket will make him someone to go to and ask questions. He could learn what the scientists are up to, and tell the subjects what's going on and what to expect. At least, when he's able to talk...or write.
Mewtwo will regain a small portion of his psychic powers back because some of the nerves will merge and connect again due to the transformations, but he'll never regain them fully. This is not only because of the nerve damage but also because his brain will change with the splicing of human DNA. While human psychics are known, their brains are not capable of the mental powers Mewtwo was once able to do. A biological difference is the reason, an adaptation psychic pokemon have that humans do not. Mewtwo will no longer be 'the most powerful pokemon in the world.'
One of the powers he will regain will be thought speech, though he'll learn spoken speech beforehand. The spoken speech will start out as simple sounds, work it's way into pokemon language, then finally human speech. He'll prefer spoken speech and use thought speech only for long distance communication. Using psychic powers gives him a headache because it's like a stiff and injured mental muscle he needs to exercise and relearn how to use.
Another power he'll regain will be greatly diminished. He'll be able to float a few feet off the ground but he needs ground underneath him to push off from like a hovercraft. He cannot fly over water anymore, he'd sink and probably drown due to his injuries. He cannot fly very high either, only a couple of feet. It would be dangerous for him to go any higher, if he even could. The floating will be unbalanced and erratic. The Meniere's Disease is the cause of that. Think about being drunk or very dizzy then trying to walk or fly. That's how it feels if he gets a vertigo attack. The floating would be wobbly at best, loose spinning loops in the air followed by a crash landing at worse times.
Then there will be a move simply called 'Psychic Attack', he'll become able to push people, pokemon, and attacks away from himself and around the room. An attack, often used offensively in a fight. Can be used as a deflection attack, he once used it on several pokemon, and some people. It won't be as strong as before, it'll feel like strong winds pushing or pulling you in a certain direction. He won't be able to lift you high in the air like before. If you have a grip on something you could fight it. Power Inhibitors would quickly put a stop to it and headaches afterward would stop him from wanting to use the attack again.
Barriers are one of the last abilities he'll regain. A stronger version of the deflection attack, used only in defense. A glow around his body, forming a blue-colored bubble. The bubble would deflect things from coming any closer. Again, Power Inhibitors would stop him from being able to form one. Headaches would make him regret doing it. Plus, the barrier is weaker than it was before the accident. A strong enough attack would put a strain on his brain, making him drop the barrier to avoid any more mental injury. A strike not strong enough to break the barrier might cause him to be pushed around instead, like pushing a basketball away from you.
Powers he has lost forever include flight, high up or over the water, Memory wipe, Mind control, Weather control, Teleportation, Shadow Ball, Disable, Confusion, Psywave, and several other psychic based attacks. It is not that they are too painful to do, it is that he lost the abilities due to the transformations and the nerve damage from the accident.
Could try to show the more angry pokemon that not all humans are bad. Not holding my breath on that one...meanwhile he could be sharing plans on how to escape. Give the guards a run for their money and a little more excitement.
He could definitely relate to Ginny, send her images of the outside world and what he's learned. Give her hope for a better future someday. Let her know that humans aren't all like those scientists.
If Aurora is created as well, I want him to get to know her and learn about forgiveness. She was one of the scientists that created him, he'll probably have a grudge against her at first. Being she'll transform into a Mew anthro though he'll be able to relate to her more. He'll forgive her, seek her company. He'll begin seeing them as a same, since they both will have Mew DNA and Human DNA inside them. Their destined to RP together! He'll learn to let go of his past.
Info on the pokemon: Mewtwo (Japanese: ミュウツー Mewtwo) is a Psychic-type legendary Pokémon. As a legendary Pokémon, Mewtwo cannot breed. Although Mewtwo was cloned from the genes of the legendary Pokémon Mew, its size and character are far different than its ancestor. Its battle abilities have been radically heightened. Mewtwo is one of the first Pokémon created by science, a team of Team Rocket scientists performed the miracle. The scientists who created it dreamed of making the strongest Pokémon ever. It is not known to evolve to or from any other Pokémon.
Mewtwo is a creature with a humanoid posture, but has many feline features. Mewtwo's body is grayish-purple with a purple underside and a long, purple tail. Mewtwo has three digits on each hand and two toes on each foot. It has purple eyes and two short ears.
One of Mewtwo's most notable features is the tube extending from the back of its skull to its spine. It is most likely a secondary spinal cord, or a system of nerves, allowing for an increased amount of blood and sensory transmission to the brain, heightening its psychic
powers.
Mewtwo is highly skilled with Psychic powers. It can fly through use of telekinesis, speak telepathically, and take control of another living being's mind. Mewtwo is also capable of wielding various types of attacks (but to a slightly lesser extent than Mew).
Mewtwo also has the ability to telekinetically create massive hurricanes powerful enough to destroy the planet.
He was trained by Team Rocket Leader Giovanni but then betrayed.
Information found here!
Special abilities: Well... of the few special abilities he has left include Barrier, Reflect, and Psychic attack. Reading minds, knowing pokemon language while eventually speaking human.
Behavior: He'll act frustrated in the beginning as he gets used to his loss of powers and new weaknesses. Trying to communicate will be a challenge for him. Accepting reality and getting used to the vertigo attacks will also be a challenge for him.
Mewtwo seems to have developed a very protective and guardian-like nature to the point of surrendering to Giovanni just to keep his fellow clones safe. This protectiveness will spread to most or all of the subjects on the island.
He is not used to using his physical body so much, he'll tire easily at first. As he uses his muscles he'll gain strength. He's not as helpless as the loss of his powers seem to make him. He'll learn how to use his body in battle.
He'll act confused, curious, observant, hateful towards scientists, and mostly non-aggressive. Past experience and his new weaknesses prove to him that fighting is senseless. He watches, waits, takes in everything and learns. He'll systematically test things looking for weakness in the security, the building, or the staff. For now, escape is not possible. Once an opportunity presents itself though he'll try to take advantage of it. As he grows angry toward the humans and regains some of his power it would be best for the scientists to be cautious. Thankfully for the scientists his full powers have been diminished to a manageable level.
Habitat: Mewtwo, being a cloned Pokémon, has no natural habitat. Mew's habitat appears to be tropical rainforests or mountains. However, Mewtwo is very different from Mew.
Mewtwo has been known to make its hideout in Cerulean Cave's basement. Gameboy put him in a dark cave, the second movie had him in a very remote mountain. The first movie he was in a fortress he built, the last image in the second movie showed him on top of a skyscraper in a city. I think he could live just about anywhere and call it his 'habitat.'
Scars: After stitches are removed he'll have a long straight pink scar on one ear and one circling his entire second neck. I made edits to the picture from below, this image is of Mewtwo with the scars, after the stitching is out. The stitches could be shown in his first picture then after the first transformation the scars could be left behind.

Clothes: A think brown cape surrounds his throat and billows out behind him. He'll adopt another garment of clothing after a transformation or two, for human decency. Example
Diet: Strictly vegetarian, the last time he tried to eat meat he could psychically hear the dying screams of the pokemon that meat came from. That'd make anybody lose their appetite! He can't eat too much for fear of throwing up during a vertigo attack and can't eat anything high in sodium because it gives you more vertigo attacks. Therefore he'd eat a low sodium diet high in energy.
Why do you think your character would be a good addition to the island/RP? He fits everything, goes with the whole theme! He was born in a lab, claimed no one could conquer him, and then finds himself captured and brought to another lab. Bad things are always happening to him, and this happening to him makes perfect sense. He hates most humans so much, then finds himself partially becoming one. He could someday meet Aurora, a scientist that helped create him. He'd hate her then learn to forgive and someday even befriend her.
Subjects finding that legendary pokemon are now being caught will feel both shock and dismay. If the humans could control legendaries, what could ordinary pokemon do? Mewtwo's personality would never allow them to give up hope though, he would determinedly offer help with escape plans. The other subjects would become like his fellow clone pokemon were to him, friends.
In each Mewtwo movie he learns a new valuable lesson about something. It would be the same on Cronus Island, except his continued stay would result in not just one, but several important lessons being learned.
He was seen very briefly with a cloak on, Mewtwo fans rejoiced thinking that meant their would be another Mewtwo movie. However they were disappointed and now question why he was shown in that strange garment in the first place. I'm going to give a story about why he wears that cloak and where he got it. His time on Cronus Island will be like that third Mewtwo movie everyone was hoping for. In a way, it would give me a sense of closure instead of feeling they gave us an empty cliffhanger.
I have given Mewtwo disabilities and limitations that I, myself, are not allowed to cross so that I can avoid godmodding altogether. I think it's good for him to get limitations so everyone knows he's not superman, that even legendary pokemon can get hurt. His personality problems would also ensue plenty of character development as they are slowly fixed. It'll keep roleplay interesting.
He'll be included in as many plots and roleplays as I can put him in. Not just roleplays where you meet each other either. We could work our way up to RPs where we're actually doing something. I'll check to make sure I'm keeping those kind of roleplays within the story line.
I notice that not many alliances have been made yet, and even those bonds are fragile. He could try to use leadership skills and good planning to gather more alleys and get them working toward the ultimate goal of escaping. Encourage some group RP.
Probably adding a couple humorous situations. It's in my nature to lighten up serious moods with comedy. I'd like Mewtwo to eat pinkan berries at least once, get the guards wondering why there's a giant Mew wandering around or if their just seeing things since their not as aware of what the subjects are fed. xd Make his handicap funny too, have him fall over during a dramatic moment. Vertigo attacks happen anywhere, anytime.
((Teigra: Looks great, Vicky! You've done a wonderful job with limiting your character as well as explaining how he would come to be captured by CRONUS. I stamp this quest with approval and wish you luck!))
