To whom it may concern,

.............................It has been urgently brought to my attention that you, being a teenager, are not completely satisfied with you life at home or school. Things just aren't going the way you want them too. You don't have any real friends, your parents don't understand, your parents wouldn't pay enough attention to you to even try and understand. What ever the issue is, I don't care. The point is, there is a way out. I am pleased to inform you that you no longer have to live life this way. Here at the mansion, we take extra good care of our guests. It is our mission to give you a better reason to live, rather than just allowing you to drag on with your lives. If you are interested in staying at the mansion, please pack one bag of personal belongings and keep an open mind. Should you accept, flip this letter over for directions to the εscapε εxpяεss. The train will pick you up and take you to our residence.

Always,
M

////////////////////Loud whistling echoed in the distance. The ground began to lightly rumble. The train was almost there, and JonLuc was waiting for it at the abandoned train station. It wasn't that no body ever went there, it was just that the letter instructed him to arrive at such a late hour. No one in their right mind would board a train this late. Jon fiddled with the handle of his bag. He only brought one suitcase filled with his personal belongings, just as he was told. He wanted to go to this mansion so bad, it sounded rather exciting. He would do all of the silly requirements to come here. Even if it meant running away from his mother. Mother. Jon didn't miss her too much, but when it came down to it, she was the only family that cared. Father was off with that whore of a girlfriend he never met. He didn't care about the fact that his father left, he only wished there was some kind of male figure in his life. Maybe then he wouldn't have turned out so feminine when it came to style and taste.

////////////////////The train came to a stop right in front of the bench Jon had been sitting on. He rose to his feet, ticket in hand, and boarded it. No one was on the bus. There wasn't even someone there to ask him if they could take his ticket. What was the point in having a ticket in if no one was going to take it? Perhaps they took it after he arrived at the mansion. JonLuc thought of what the other kids were going to be like. All of them were runaways as well, so they probably had some social retardation or sad sob story. He couldn't wait for the opportunity to meet them. Not that he was truly interested in them, he just wanted to have fun at the mansion. And by fun, he means manipulating, lying, deceiving and getting away with it without anyone knowing. This would be a challenge to live with seven other teenagers, but a Jon loves himself a challenge. JonLuc put his bag in the overhead containers, and sat down in a lonely booth.

////////////////////One would think that after an hour of waiting on a moving train someone would come around with complimentary food. This was not the case. No one was even on the train, so why would he expect service? Obviously, one person had to be on the train. That would be the driver. Jon thought about going to the front of the train and figure out what the hell was going on, but he decided it could end bad. He wasn't even hungry anyways, he just likes to be waited on. Another hour passed, and there still wasn't a sign of any human activity. The train continued to roll on down its tracks, until Jon saw a black building in the distance. If it weren't for this symbol of hope, Jon would have assumed he was being taken so far away that no one would ever find him again. Not that this still couldn't happen, but now that he felt like he was getting off the train, the thought didn't come up again.

////////////////////Two and a half hours were up, and the train was simply sitting outside of the station. It looked very similar to the one closer to home, but there were slight differences in the benches and there were no advertisements. JonLuc hopped off the train with his suitcase, and stepped out onto the curb. Umm. Okay, now what? He looked around and noticed that no one was there to welcome him. No car, no taxi, no limo, no butler. Things weren't exactly what he thought they were going to be. Maybe they're just late. Yeah, I'm sure thats it. JonLuc glanced at his clock. He was perfectly on time, so why weren't they? He inhaled deeply. It was freezing outside compared to where he came from.

////////////////////At that moment of doubt, the limo arrived. It was black, and the windows were tinted, but he approached it anyways. “Williams?” A husky voice called from the cracked front window. “Y...yes.” Jon said hesitantly. “Get in.” The man replied. JonLuc only obeyed. Clearly they thought of this as some sort of secret mission. If Jon weren't in this certain state of mind, he would probably think of them as rapists or something silly like that. Why weren't they giving it a lighter approach. The letter seemed to make this sound like a happier, better place for him to live. He rolled his eyes as he got into the limo. As if his life at home was so terrible. Just boring, that's all. The limo pulled away from the curb, and dropped him off at the mansion. JonLuc approached the dark mansion, breathing heavily into his sleeves to keep warm. This definitely wasn't California any more. JonLuc knocked three times. The booming sound echoed through the mansion.

This entire situation was sketchy as hell, but Sedona didn`t care. She was just excited to get the hell out of her step-father`s house for good. The girl was sick and tired of hiding out in her room all day, of even being afraid to go out and swim because she didn`t want her mom`s elderly creep of a husband to peep at her in her swimsuit. And Sedona was never scared of anything, so that was definitely saying something! Anyway, that little invitation had been just what she`d needed. Running away had always been a fantasy of hers, but Sedona was a realistic person, and as much as she adored adventure, she wasn`t going to run away and live in the forests for months at a time. Hell no. She was going to wait until the perfect opportunity presented itself, and then she was going to snatch it right up and take advantage of it to its fullest. And this was clearly the opportunity she`d been waiting for. Immediately upon receiving the little note, she`d gotten giddy, like a little schoolgirl with a crush. But this was quite different; she wasn`t fantasizing about anyone else, she was fantasizing about all the s**t she would now be able to do. No more rules, no more regulations, Anything and everything she had ever wanted to do, she would be able to... It was like a freaking dream, and she prayed that she wouldn`t wake up.

She was gone by the next morning. The seventeen year old had sped throughout the house late at night, while everyone was asleep, and dug through her step-father`s usual hiding spots in the hopes of finding cash. Luckily for her, he was so wealthy he made no effort of hiding the spare money, and set it in the most obvious of locations. About an hour later, she stuffed $394 into her pockets, stuffed necessities into her suitcase and was out the front door. No goodbyes, no nostalgia, that was Sedona. She didn`t give a damn about anyone but herself at this point. Not her mother, not her step-siblings, and especially not the old man snoring within the master bedroom. She was going to leave this entire life behind her and start anew. It was about time.

An hour later, Sedona was on a train. She had `borrowed` her step-brother`s motorcycle, only to give it to a homeless man sitting at the corner out front of the abandoned train station. That`s what he got for being such a p***k. Swinging her suitcase at her side, she`d had to wait for no longer than a few minutes for the train to arrive. Sedona had no sense of time management, so it was a miracle that she had even been there in time. She had just been too damn excited. Chewing at a piece of spearmint gum absently, she entered the train and sat down in the closest seat. The emptiness was a bit eerie, but Sedona welcomed it, and sprawled herself across several seats to make up on some much needed sleep.

The girl awoke when the train reached a screeching halt. The sudden stop startled Sedona, who very nearly fell off her seats with surprise. Clutching the arm of the seat, she groggily lifted herself, squinting as her eyes adjusted to the light. It took her a moment to realize where she was, but as soon as she did she clumsily pulled herself to her feet, snatched her suitcase up off the floor, and hurried out onto the platform. Just as the previous platform, it was completely deserted. The petite girl frowned to herself. How the ******** was she going to know where to go? Did they really think she was going to walk all the way there? "
This is just great." She snapped to herself, moodily stomping across the platform. As soon as she got outside, she inhaled sharply. In a pair of shorts, boots and a white button up shirt, she was anything but dressed appropriately for this weather. However, a limo pulled around the corner, and a small smirk came to Sedona`s face. That was more like it.

Judging from the looks of it, Sedona was the first to arrive at the mansion. She continued to smirk all the way up to the front door, and decided to milk this little trip for all it was worth by sitting there until her driver finally got the hint and got out to open the door for her. "
Aww, thank you!" She said sweetly, leaving her suitcase behind for him to carry. He was a large, bulky man with a husky voice, but that didn`t intimidate Sedona. If he tried anything, she`d give him a nice kick right to his privates. And she had taken years of soccer so, well, he would be done for. Opening the giant main doors, she slipped inside, snatching her suitcase from the driver. And without another word, the girl vanished inside, even going as far as locking the door behind her. It was game time. The mansion was gorgeous, much nicer than her step father`s home, not to mention it was completely void of human life. Perfect! Sedona wasted no time, hurrying up the entrance hall stairs in search of the bedrooms. She immediately went for the room closest to the bathroom, and set her stuff on the bed before throwing herself beside them. "I could get used to this." She sighed to herself. Suddenly…

                                        Thud. Thud. Thud.

Groaning aloud, Sedona slipped off the bed and hurried right back down the main staircase. It would appear that someone was knocking at the massive main doors, and she was currently debating whether or not she would let them in. After all, they were ruining her Sedona time! As she reached the doors, she leaned against them. "
Password?" She called, lips twitching with amusement. There was a long pause, during which she assumed the visitor was pondering what to say. Too long of a silence. Unlocking the door, she yanked it open and poked her head out. "Laaame. You`re no fun." She said shortly to the red-haired boy before her, leaving the door ajar as she hurried back into the house.

////////////////////The wait for the door to open was a little less prompt as he had hoped it would be. Jon was expecting a quick response and a grand welcoming. But at the same time, he was sort of expecting it. After that wait at the train station and the lack of service, Luc was starting to doubt the glamorous promises of the mansion. While he waited for the door to open, Jon contemplated whether or not he should open it himself. Once he decided against it, he began to remember the note he left his mother. It was heart breaking, eye watering, life ruining little story that he found absolutely hysterical. True, he loved his mother. But everything he wrote on there was a complete fabrication of the truth. He didn’t want to run away for any tear dropping reason. JonLuc simply wanted to do something exciting and out of the ordinary. Anyone could tell that escaping to a mansion full of teenagers was odd.

////////////////////Tall doors opened to reveal a hint of light. An attractive young girl poked her head out. She seemed a little disappointed when she saw him. JonLuc wasn’t exactly sure what to make of that. In fact, he was pretty good at ignoring it. He was just happy to see a girl was here. If it were a boy, he wouldn’t be too excited. Girls were Jon’s life. To him, they made the word go round. Without them, he couldn’t use his manipulative skills so effectively. Who else would spread his stories and highly thought of reputation? ”Laaame. You’re no fun.” JonLuc arched an eyebrow at her words. She disappeared in an instant, but thoughtfully left the door cracked open.

////////////////////Still unsure about what her “no fun” comment was all about, Jon picked up his bag and wondered into the mansion curiously. After he got his head around the door, JonLuc stared in amazement. Finally he was getting the glam he wanted. The couches were the first things he noticed. Then his eyes slowly drifted over to the regal paintings and vibrant wall paint. All the décor was done so fantastically. It was unlike most of the things he saw on the house channels or magazines. Truly a genius must lived here. Jon pulled himself, and his bag, into the living room.

////////////////////After another second or two of staring, JonLuc remembered the girl had spoken to him. He smiled humorously as he still didn’t understand. Obviously she didn’t know what a riot he was. Or at least, that is what Jon thought of himself. He would have to remake his reputations here. You’re not in high school anymore. They don’t know you here… All of the possibilities ran through his head as to what he could be. This truly excited him. Here he could start fresh. Make up new lies that led to more and more. ”Sorry I’m so unsatisfactory. I’ll try harder next time, I promise.” He said while laughing under his breath.

////////////////////”I’m JonLuc by the way.” He smiled warmly even though she wasn’t facing him. There was a slight possibility she could turn around, and he wanted to be prepared for that moment. After a short moment of her not doing what he hoped, Luc’s eyes began to wander again. He instantly spotted the kitchen. There was a huge possibility he would be making his way over there just after he settled in. Jon didn’t get the chance to eat before the train. He was too busy writing that damn letter to his mother. As funny as it was to him, Luc wished he ate instead. At least there was food waiting for him in the fridge. When JonLuc didn’t get a response out of the mysterious girl, he began to think she didn’t hear him. But to be on the safe side, he wouldn’t repeat himself. Only speak again. ”My mom couldn’t decide between John or Luke, so this is what I ended up with.” He heard that short story all too much from his mother. The smile returned to his face as he hoped (once again) the girl would pay attention to him. If she didn't, Jon would just have to give up and move on.

Sedona wasted no time at the front door. The young girl tossed her brunette locks over her shoulder and immediately headed back to the staircase, eager to get back to her bedroom and unpack her things. However, it would appear that the redheaded male was not finished, and she soon heard his voice coming from behind her. "
Sorry I`m so unsatisfactory. I`ll try harder next time, I promise." This caused the corners of Sedona`s lips to turn up slightly, but it would take more than that to win her over. She was known for being a bit skeptical when it came to meeting new people, particularly people of the male gender. That, and she was known for being quite the tough cookie when it came to guys. Charming comments, nice smiles, they meant nothing to her. She was too busy concentrating on herself to worry about someone else, anyway. Ask her mother, she would surely tell you the same thing.

                                        "
I`m JonLuc, by the way." The boy continued. Sedona could hear the smile in his voice, despite the fact that she continued to walk away from him. He seemed intent on starting off on the right foot with her, but if he really had wanted to do so, he should have just let her go back to her room. But Sedona couldn`t help but find it somewhat endearing, despite her cautious approach towards strangers. "My mom couldn`t decide between John or Luke, so this is what I ended up with." The girl exhaled. Third time`s a charm! With that same, infamous smirk on her face, Sedona set her foot on the first stair, rested her hand on the railing and turned back to face the boy.

Surely enough, there he stood, clutching onto his suitcase only a few feet away. "
Sedona." She replied, and already her cockiness was almost radiating off of her. She was a handful to live with, and just by looking at JonLuc she could already tell that she would most likely overwhelm him. But then again, there was something odd about him, something that she felt he was hiding from her. What it was, she didn`t know, but she didn`t intend on trying to figure it out. "But you can call me Sedona Alyna, JonLuc." She added somewhat teasingly before turning around and continuing her way up the staircase.

She paused at the top of the stairs, watching JonLuc expectantly. It would appear that the bedroom he had chosen for himself was directly across the lounge from her own. In her mind, she was already coming up with all the little nicknames she was going to give him. Ginger, Agent Orange, Ranga, Ronald Weasley… The grin on her face made her thoughts quite obvious, and she didn’t bother to hide it. In fact, Sedona wasn’t coming up with these little names to torture the poor boy, although it was definitely a little plus. She simply sucked at remembering names, and although they would probably stick eventually, these little nicknames would be much easier for her. That… and they just struck her as hilarious.

After watching him for another moment, Sedona lost interest. Without another word, she retreated back to her bedroom and dumped her suitcases contents onto her bed. She didn’t exactly bother to neatly put away her things, but tossed them into the drawers and closet and then left. Those were her organizing skills for you! Once she felt like she was finished, the girl left her bedroom and slammed the door behind her. She was eager to explore this new house, and, most importantly, find the pool that she was praying would be just outside. Hopping onto the staircase railing, she slid most of the way down before hopping off and landing with a somewhat clumsy thud. But she was still on her feet, and this was encouragement enough for her to explore the first floor. She glanced into the massive, gorgeous dining room, stuck her head in the kitchens, and collapsed on one of the entrance hall sofas. There had to be some sort of catch. Millionaires didn’t just give away their mansions for free! Stretching her arms above her head, Sedona pulled herself back up to her feet several moments later, and out the front door she went.

It was cold as hell outside, especially to be in shorts, but Sedona didn’t seem to care. She merely laughed out loud, left the door wide open, and ran around the house. Sure, it may be fourty-four freaking degrees out, but Sedona would have been more than willing to go for a swim. She always was. When she finally managed to run around the house, her face lit up; there was the sight she had been praying for! But as she approached, she realized… it was empty. "
What?!" Who in their right mind would do that?! With a pouty look on her face, the girl hopped into the empty pool, boots clicking against the tile. Okay, fine, maybe she was being a bit silly. But damn! Such a beautiful pool, and it was empty? What a waste!

Sedona was able to stand outside for about five minutes before the cold finally got the best of her. She hurried back inside, teeth chattering, slamming yet another door to announce her arrival. Taking a left turn, she wandered into the kitchen, rubbing her arms as she went. She could only hope that whoever this ‘M’ dude was, he had a well-stocked fridge, because she was starving. Stepping into the kitchen, she was sidetracked by the pantry, and slid the door open to get a look inside. A box of Lucky Charms immediately caught her eye, and she snatched it off the shelf, hopping on the counter before she opened the box and started to eat. This was amazing. No mother to scream at her to watch what she ate, no eight step-siblings to fight with, no cook to try and scare her away from the fridge with an old spatula. She felt more at home here than she ever had at her step-father’s, and she had only been here for fifteen minutes.

GASPAЯD BEAU MAЯIENTO

A boy rubbed his hands together, gloveless, cold and murky air filled the streets of down town New York City. As warm as it is in the summer, the winter is the opposite. It snow’s as bad as Greenland. The freezing temperatures seemed more dramatic once the wind blew in from the north. It was late, the street lights were going out, and the city, for once, was silent. His foot steps echoed in the stillness of the stone train station. It was built before his time, around the 1900’s, when steam was just about to decrease in motor vehicle use. It was an old steam train station; it was a miracle that it was still up, in this increasing technological world. But the boy stood his place; he reached into his pocket of his gray peacoat, and took out a piece of paper. The directions said here, but what was going to be… here? He had a dark green duffle bag, around his left shoulder, made him lean a bit when he walked. It held everything in there, everything but his phone. No need to come back, he thought. He sighed and looked at a wooden bench behind him and walked closer to it, as he kept rubbing his hands together, breathing into his cuffed hands, then rubbing them again. He placed the duffle bag on his lap, and lifted the collar of his peacoat to keep his neck warm once the wind blow harder. The boys blue eyes seemed to glow in the flickering light of the train station. The swaying light above him concerned him a bit, and he moved over. The boy kept his legs close to his elbows bending down so he could be warmer. His jeans were almost wet from the melting snow that landed on him while sitting. His cheeks a rosy red from the beating chill. He sighed, as mist from his warm breath, vapor which was a dark gray from his horrible habit of smoking.

The boy reached in his pocket, and took out a picture. It was a picture of a gorgeous woman. She had his eyes, his smile and his face. Marianne, his mother. She died a few days ago, just heard the news while in New York. Cath didn’t really seem to care, shrugged her shoulders and bought a new Couch purse which she already has four of. Cath, his step mother, and a spoiled brat; doesn’t care about jack but her self and the Money Joseph, his father, seems to make. He was just sick of hearing their arguments about him, always about him. “I’m sick of him staying here Joe!” “Cathy what do you want me to do? He’s only a boy!” He was hated in his own house hold. Cath continuously told him about much she truly hated him every day, and when the boy hoped to go to his mother’s funeral, he was declined. His green card won’t let him out of the country for another two years. She was a beautiful woman, always busy, but had time to sit and read with her son, or eat peanut butter out of the jar before bed. She died of Breast cancer, at the age of Thirty-nine.

He stroked the picture with his thumb before he heard a screech, a train, steam and old, sat in front of him. Groaning to get his cold bitten legs to move, he walked up to the opening door. No one seemed to be on the train, as he looked from left to right. He walked into a booth room, down the hall a bit, and sat down on the soft seat. It was red cotton like seat, like they used to have in London in the 1920’s. He put his duffle bag on the railing hold above him, and jerked back as the train began to move. A man, dressed in a conductor uniform walked in the door way of the booth room, and the boy took out the paper that got him here. He handed it to the man, with wonder, silent pondering. The man looked at the paper then to the clip board that was in his left hand, “Gas…” The man stuttered having trouble with the pronunciation of his name. “Gaspard” The boy corrected him. “Gaspard Beau Mariento?” The conductor asked, and the boy nodded.

The conductor walked away as Gaspard looked at him awkwardly; he wondered what was on that clip board and where he was going. He was too shy to ask, he also thought it was going to be a stupid question. He should know where he is going, but for some reason, he had no clue. He sighed; adjusting is posture in the sinking seat that kept drowning him, in and out of sleep. The train was warm, and as Gaspard leaned his head on the cold window, that started to fog up as they left the station, he drifted off into sleep.

We're not the same, dear, as we used to be.
The seasons have changed and so have we.
There was little we could say, and even less we could do
To stop the ice from getting thinner under me and you.

The sound of the screeching brakes of the train awoke Gaspard from his soft slumber. His eyes were sown shut from sleep, and his mouth was too dry to talk. A lullaby in his head kept playing every time he went to sleep. It was a song she’d sing, well ever since the divorce. It was just the lyrics, the deafening tone, just playing as he slept. He groaned as he got up. He stretched his arms, and then put them down to rub his smoky eyes. He blinked a few times, before he was able to focus and see the world around him. His pants weren’t wet anymore and as he ran his fingers through his hair, one pair of his head was freezing. It was probably the fact he was leaning on the window. He looked around confused for a moment, still wasn’t all the way awake. He coughed before turning to the rail above him and took out his duffle bag. He let out a small grunt as he lifted his bag to leave the train. He walked out of the booth and looked around. Where did that conductor go? He cautiously walked out into the hall way, and as he was getting closer to the opened door, it got colder. He looked a gulp before exiting the train, and carefully walked out, making sure to step over the gap between the platform and train.
“The Mansion,” The conductor said poking his head from the Train door. It scared the crap out of Gaspard making him stumble and jump back. Gaspard looked at the Conductor then turned to see a Giant home, a few bit away. “There?” Gaspard pointed. The conductor nodded, and Gaspard sighed, then turned to wave at the conductor, but he and the train was gone with out a trace. He shrugged and walked down the concrete stairs to the path of the Mansion.

Gaspard looked at the door, it was giant. He saw the windows and how each light seemed to be on. A Party? Gaspard looked in the side door window and saw figures. He adjusted his duffle bag before pushing down on the handle to open the giant wooden door. He pushed it opened and stepped in quickly before letting go of the door, hearing it slam back into lock. He looked around, and noticed the two figures. He looked at them talk, and introduce them selves as he stood quiet. He looked down at his dirty black convers, before putting his duffle bag down. He bent down and untied them before taking them off. He stood back up and looked at the two. “Um, What is this place?” He asked shyly and quiet.

C a d e n c e x M i l l e r

Cadence placed one foot in front of the other, each step placing more and more space between her and her past. She was determined never to return to the hell hole that was her current foster home. She was sick and tired of it. She was sick and tired of it all. This was her chance to escape, to get away. To leave the past where it belonged... in the past. Cadence would start completely over. And this was her chance.... The winter air was frigid and it chilled her to the bone. Pulling her thick sweater closer to her body, she hunched her shoulders and ducked her head. She never liked the cold. It was always so uncomfortable. Sighing, her breath came out in a small white cloud. Her golden brown hair swished her face with each frozen breeze. Stuffing her hand further down into her pocket, she tightened her hold on the small suitcase she carried with her. Cadence picked up her pace. For fear that someone had noticed her absence, unlikely, and had called the police in search for her, also unlikely. Her "new" parents would have gone out searching for her themselves after noticing she hadn't been there for them to beat. And after they dragged her back to the crack house they call home, they would let all hell break loose. Subconsciously, she touched the huge, purple and black bruise that was forming on her side, wincing in response. That had happened when they pushed her on top of the the broken and splintered end table. Closing her eyes shut tightly, she tried to push those images away from her mind. Along with the pain that was pulsating in her side. That one would surely take time to heal. Returning her hand to her pocket, she looked up and smiled slightly.

Her heart skipped a beat as she recognized the train station. It looked abandoned, like no one had used it in a while. And she didn't remember seeing this station ever. Then again, she hadn't been in this city long enough to explore all of it. Cadence broke into a jog, her target the train station. Her suitcase bumped her legs, carrying the few personal belongings she had left. She slowed her pace as she reached the few steps and walked up them with care. As if one wrong step would send her hurdling back to her "home". Cadence looked left, then right. Nothing was in sight. She sighed and rested against the railing. It was all a scam and she had fell for it. She wasn't going to be able to be freed from her past and she knew that now. She felt like a fool. Cadence should have known that one of her evil "siblings" had planted that note in order to get in her trouble for running away. Cadence bit down on her lip to keep from crying tears of frustration. She was so dreadfully sick of her life. It was driving her mad. Shaking her head slightly, she sank down to a sitting position and rubbed her face. If she was to go back now, they would wonder where she had been and why had she brought a suitcase filled with her things. Thus granting her another beating. If she didn't return either her "parents" were going to come search for her, or they were going to call the authorities and pose as the caring, loving, and distraught foster parents of a rebellious and evil foster child. She was damned if she did, damned if she didn't.

Just as she was about to leave when a low and deep rumbling sound, accompanied with a loud whistle made her eyes snap open. Sure enough, there was the train, pulling into the station. She grinned and hopped to her feet. Cadence couldn't have been happier. Her she was, about to be freed from her old life and step through the doors of her new one. Cadence Annabelle Miller was finally going to be free. She couldn't seem to get to the doors fast enough. She clutched her ticket to tightly in her hand she was sure that it was nothing but a crumpled ball now. Cadence looked confused as she looked for the person who was to take her ticket. But there was no one there. She shrugged and went to sit down, placing her suitcase beside her. Cadence relaxed and sighed as she made herself comfortable in her seat. Resting her head on the cool window, she watched as the train lurched forward once, then began to move steadily past the city. Cadence smiled as she watched the buildings and the home disappear behind them and she closed her eyes. Silently, she thanked whoever "M" was who allowed her to be able to get away from her life. Completely relaxed and blissful, Cadence's body reminded her just how tired she was and it wasn't long before she drifted asleep.

For the first time in what felt like forever, she dreamed of something other than the horrific scene that she constantly tried to escape. Instead of twisted metal and the red and blue lights flashing across the scene of her parents death, Cadence was sitting in a sort of meadow. But this meadow seemed special somehow. The flowers billowed in the breeze and their petals glistened in the sun. Her white sundress fluttered around her thin frame as she gazed out at the pond. The air was the perfect temperature and everything was at peace. The air smelled faintly of the finest perfume, created by nature. The water from the pond twinkled as the sun's rays glinted off of its surface. Dream Cadence smiled and laughed for no in particular reason. She was just so happy to be relaxed and not have to worry about anything. Getting to her feet, Dream Cadence broke into a run, her hair trailing behind her and dress flapping. Suddenly, she jumped and disappeared. Further inspection revealed that she had, in fact, jumped off of a waterfall and was cascading down. There was no fear on Dream Cadence's face, but the same blissful serenity she had when she had been sitting down. Her arms were outstretched and the mist from the running water sprayed her body. Dream Cadence pointed her arms straight out in front of her, like a diver, and sliced through the surface of the water. The crisp, and clean water moved over her skin and moved her hair, cooling her body off. Dream Cadence's head, burst through the surface and sucked in a deep breath of air. A large grin on her face.

Cadence smiled in her sleep, and shifted her position, enjoying her sweet dream. But her time was up. The train had pulled into her new destination, stopping with a lurch. Cadence's eyes snapped open as she scanned her surroundings, expecting to see her old bedroom, or old musty basement, rather, but was relieved to remember she would no longer have to see that place again. Looking out the window, she smiled and got up from her seat. There was still no one on the train. Shrugging, she grabbed her bag and got off the train. Looking around, her heart sank in her chest. There was no mansion or home in sight. Cadence was beginning to think that this was a scam again when a black limo pulled up in front of the station. Normally, Cadence would have refused a ride from a stranger, but this wasn't your normal situation. The front window rolled down slightly. "Miller?" A deep voice asked. Cadence wondered how he knew her name, but nodded in response. "Get in." Cadence nodded again and climbed into the backseat, placing her suitcase on her lap. She sat closely to the door and had her hand on the handle just in case she needed to dive out of the car.

Of course, that was unnecessary because they had come to a stop in front of the mansion. At first, all Cadence could so was stare. But she figured that this guy probably had other distraught teens to pick up from a strange train station. Climbing out of the car. She stumbled a little. She sighed and ran her hands through her hair and looked at the large mansion. Not really sure what to do next. Was she just supposed to walk inside? Just like that? It couldn't hurt. Dragging her suitcase behind her, she started up the steps and stood in front of the door. Taking a deep breath, she opened it and stepped inside. She hadn't really known what to expect and didn't know if she was either late or early. The first or the last. Thankfully, she heard the faint sounds of someone, or multiple people talking. Cadence smiled and turned the corner into the room, where three people stood. Her heart sank in her chest and she took a deep breath and stepped farther inside. "Uhm, hi. Am I late?" She wasn't really sure what she would be late for, but it was safe to ask.

////////////////////A small smirk played across JonLuc's face as Sedona slightly teased him. Sedona. It seemed like such a godly name to him. He couldn't quiet put his finger on it, but it reminded him of some mythological women. Jon assumed she had the figure of a goddess as she slowly walked away from him. Soft creamy skin, well proportioned body. It was practically driving him nuts. When she walked out of sight, Jon sighed. He couldn't possibly be alone is such a large mansion. That would be a terrible torture. Where is she going? JonLuc was tempted to follow her, but figured that would be a bad move on his part. Obviously the girl wasn't quiet as interested in him as he was in her. He would just have to pull back the reigns and take it easy on this one. Other wise he could scare her away, and you only make first impressions once.

////////////////////At that moment, a Jon noticed a boy just standing their shyly. There wasn't much he wanted to say to him, considering he was a guy and guys bore him. But there was something about him that was quiet funny. It wasn't clear to him just what it was. It just was. JonLuc's eyebrow arched as he waited for him to say something. ”Um, what is this place?” Luc held back any remarks that were uncalled for. ”Well, you've got the invitation?” Jon could understand his confusion about what was going on here, but he wondered why he was confused about whether or not this was the mansion. Or at least that was what it sounded like he was inquiring about. There was a long pause before he continued to speak. ”I know just as much as you do,” He shrugged animatedly. ”Sorry.” JonLuc wasn't really sorry that he couldn't help him. More so that he himself didn't know what was going on. At least he wasn't as lost as this guy. The one who had yet to make an introduction.

////////////////////Then all of the world was forgotten, including Sedona. A girl, no, a woman entered the scene. Her name was about as mysterious as the reason she was smiling. Although it was a beautiful smile, Luc was captivated by so much more. It made him wonder why he had ever needed to look at anyone else. ”Uhm, hi. Am I late?” JonLuc mustered up the strength to talk. The answer was in her eyes, but he didn't want to tell her the obvious, “Late for what?”. She deserved a better answer then that. ”No, you're right on time.” He smiled endearingly while moving so they weren't a mile apart. There was a sudden urge to leave the room. Something about her made him feel inferior and not good enough. He was just a red headed kid who lied his way through high school.

////////////////////As much as his whole body was telling him to walk away, JonLuc knew he couldn't embarrass himself like that. She might draw the wrong conclusion. Jon slowly paced over to the kitchen. His back was to her only for a moment. Jon over thought every step and movement of his hands. It didn't make it look mechanical, only confident. Even though that was not the feeling he was getting. JonLuc propped open the fridge and glanced back at her. This way he was far enough to not trip over his words, and close enough for her to know he existed. ”What's your name?” He was pleased with himself for getting the words out successfully. There wasn't a stutter or a squeak to be heard.

////////////////////JonLuc looked back into the fridge to see an amazing assortment of foods. He kept an ear open for a response, but he was so stunned to see how much food they were given. It all looked so great, it made him want to stay in the kitchen all night. But he couldn't possibly do that. For all he knew, the food would cost them. At that moment, it didn't matter. Jon grabbed hold of an apple, pretended to examine it, and shut the fridge door. He walked out of the kitchen and leaned up against a wall with the apple in hand. Jon gently sunk his teeth making a light crunching noise. The apple was so juicy a little trickled down to his chin. Oh, wow. He quickly wiped it away with his hand.

As Sedona sat in the kitchen, she watched the situation unravel before her eyes. More and more people were entering the mansion, and with each new face came another, uncomfortable feeling. Why did so many people have to show up? Sedona had left her previous home to escape the irritating people which plagued her life, only to come and meet these? Pulling her legs up onto the counter, she crossed them and tilted her head to the side. Clearly, she had never been much of a people person. In fact, Sedona was pretty sure 99% of the people in her life hated her. And she didn`t blame them. The thing was, she didn`t care enough to bother to do anything about it. Pale eyes watched the figures in the entrance hall. Huh. She was pretty sure she would manage to get into fights with each and every one of them. Hey, it could be fun.

The funniest part about the entire meeting had to be watching John/Luke. The face he made when the third female entered the house was absolutely hysterical, and Sedona had to set the cereal box aside to enjoy the scene completely. The smirk which was glued to her face was as wide as it could possibly be. It was amusing, how even the most intelligent of males could become absolute morons at the sight of a kind smile and a nice pair of tits. However, moments passed and JonLuc headed to the kitchen as well. Hey, that was her cue. Hopping off the counter, she left the box of Lucky Charms where she had set it down and brushed her hair from her face. "
Very smooth, Ginger." She said, amusement dripping from her voice as she abandoned the kitchen. It wasn`t like her to linger. Especially when other people were around.

As she made her way towards the staircase, she paused for a moment to take a quick look at the new arrivals. The female JonLuc had been so captivated by stood the nearest, and Sedona merely looked at her for a moment, boredom evident in her expression. She was alright, Sedona really didn`t see what all the fuss was about. And as for the boy? Well, he was good-looking, she had to admit it. Her lips twitched slightly, but she fought back the smile and exhaled, continuing for the stairs. It was painfully clear that Sedona was not a people person at this point. She didn`t particularly find any of her new roomates interesting, and was much too preoccupied with getting to know this place.

The girl had already swept through the entire bottom floor, poking her head into the dining room to admire the beautiful interior, furniture, and even the wallpaper. She had then hurried up the main staircase, poking her head into several rooms before coming to the conclusion that bedrooms ruled this floor. And finally, as she went up to the third floor to check it out... Well, she couldn`t. There were no stairs! Yet there was clearly a third floor, she knew it. But how would she get up there? Honestly, Sedona had no problem scaling the side of the building if she had to. If she got bored, the challenge might sound appealing to her. However, no matter how tough she was, she had to admit it was way too cold out for her to even consider stepping outside. Bummer.

Sedona retreated to the lounge, lacking anything better to do. Plopping herself down on one of the sofas, the girl swung her legs over the back, ending up in a hanging upside-down position. Awkward to many, but Sedona was used to it. Snatching a magazine off one of the tables, she began to flip through it absent-mindedly. It really seemed like this `M` dude had done everything he could to prepare for them. In a way, Sedona was grateful, but she would never admit it. It wasn`t often that Sedona was genuinely happy about something [well, something that didn`t involve the suffering of others]. In fact, today had been one of the first days in a long time during which she had smiled. Not smirked, but smiled.

Even though she was so happy with her new living situation, Sedona`s mind couldn`t help but wander back to her `family`. She didn`t really care about them all that much, to be quite honest. She and her mother had never really gotten along, and other than her grandmother, Sedona didn`t really think she`d miss anyone. She hated her step-father and step-siblings, so there wasn`t really much to miss, and it wasn`t like she had many friends. Sedona frowned to herself. She couldn`t lie to herself, she was really going to miss Kyle. If anyone, he was the single person she was going to worry about. What would he do without her every day? Sedona and Kyle had been attached at the hip ever since her mother had remarried, and she had transferred to his school. Much to her amazement, she felt guilty. Guilty that she had abandoned the single friend she had ever had for her own, selfish reasons. But she also knew that it was very like her. At the very least she had left him a small note the previous day. He would understand. He knew her well enough to expect something like this eventually, right? She could almost hear him, mumbling his little curses as he read the note. As he usually did when something he didn`t agree with happened.

                                        "
Ugh, s**t. Get outta my head, Kyle." She muttered to herself, tossing the magazine aside. In one swift movement, she was sitting up straight, hair slightly disheveled. She needed something to do.

Cadence's pale blue eyes were immediately drawn to the really cute red head who had spoken. Her lips stretched into a even bigger smile when he closed some of the distance between the two. The other must have just arrived like her and she didn't know what was up with the female. Already she began to worry if there was going to be much tension between the roommates. Personally, Cadence thought it was stupid that anyone would try outwardly try and be bitchy towards someone who obviously has life issues as well. That was why there were here, right? Thinking of his answer, Cadence figured it was kind of silly to ask it. What was she late for? Nothing, apparently. Everyone was just arriving. And for that, she was lucky. If she'd been late, everyone would have formed their little cliques and more than likely shut her out... Like everyone else had in her old life. Closing her eyes for a moment, she willed herself to stop thinking about it for at least a moment. She was starting over.

It felt different... Having someone pay attention to her and not know what happened in her past. For now. She was going to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity while it lasted. "I'm Cadence... Cadence Miller." Cadence herself was surprised she didn't stutter on her words, like she always did. She was suddenly eager to get to know all of the people in the house and who ever else was getting there. She was starting over again. She was getting another chance at happiness. Cadence couldn't have asked for anything better. Following behind the red headed boy, she looked around the kitchen and smiled. It was really nice, better than anything she had ever had... Recently, anyway. When he opened the fridge, she only caught a glimpse inside, but it was enough to tell that it was packed with food. Placing her hand over her stomach, she could feel it twist with hunger at the sight. Cadence hadn't eaten in the past two days because her foster parents had taken away her dinner privileges for a week and she couldn't go back to school because then people would wonder why she had been missing for a the past two weeks. And the last thing she needed was people prying in on her personal life.

Pushing the thoughts from her mind, she re-focused her attention on the boy. Who was really, really cute. Running a hand through her golden brown tendrils, she leaned against the counter, ignoring her stomach. Cadence chewed on her lip as she searched for something to say. But nothing smart and witty would come up. Finally, she just gave up and decided to say whatever came out of her mouth first "Are the bedrooms here nice?" Of course she would have regretted it the moment she let the words slip past her lips. She blushed and smiled wider. "You don't have to answer that, I'm just really nervous and can't think of anything else to say," she admitted truthfully. Why lie? Why create a facade that she wouldn't be able to back up? Might as well just get it all out there.

////////////////////Sedona walked back in before the girl could even reply. She made fun of his red hair and light freckles by calling him a ginger, but he wasn’t paying attention enough to care. JonLuc was more interested in what the other girl had to say. He hadn’t even heard her name yet. ”I’m Candace… Candace Miller. Jon wanted to sigh with relief that she was taking notice to him, but kept his cool and refrained from doing so. Candace. He nodded to himself, although it looked like he was answering her bedroom question. What a girl. A small smile crept across his face. He was beginning to scare himself. Never did he overreact with girls. Jon figured it was the whole mystery of the moment. What is her name? Why is she here? What is she doing? It all kept JonLuc’s mind entertained. Anything that could do that was good in his book. ”You don’t have to answer that, I’m just really nervous and can’t think of anything else to say.”

////////////////////At that moment, the floors above began to make creaking noises. It was slightly muffled and sounded as though it was coming from two stories above them. JonLuc glared at the ceiling curiously. What in the hell? Jon stepped away from the kitchen with no food in his mouth, hand, or stomach. The whole purpose was defeated and only saved him from boredom. ”Did you hear that?” He glanced between Candace and Sedona and then back up at the ceiling. Jon continued to walk as he came into the living room area. He grabbed hold of his bag hesitantly and made his way to the staircase. JonLuc wasn’t completely sure what he was looking at anymore. He was too busy straining to hear it again. Jon placed his foot on the first step gently and quietly made his way up the stairs.

////////////////////It was a little odd for him to take such a small noise so curiously. Especially when he was so into that Candace girl. But some small voice inside him was telling him something wasn’t right. As much as he would have loved to continue on that dead end conversation with that beautiful girl, this sudden urge to discover over took him. Now that JonLuc was at the top of the stairs, he glanced around. There was nothing but a bunch of closed doors. Probably the bedrooms, but Jon wanted to check just incase. Not paying much attention to the fabulous lounge, he peeked inside each doorway. It was just as he suspected, empty bedrooms with nothing but furniture. But where were the noises coming from?

////////////////////Staring at the ceiling once more, JonLuc was shocked to hear a voice. It was a male’s voice. One that was very low and hard to make out. The words were very muffled, but he could definitely tell someone was speaking. ”Hello?!” JonLuc called up to the voices with his hands around his mouth. They got instantly quiet. ”Were they not aware that we arrived yet? Could they have written the wrong day?” After a moment of pure silence, JonLuc began to search for some kind of attic door. When he couldn’t find one, he released a large sigh. He ran down the stairs in and instant and looked at the group with a questionable look on his face. ”I think someone is in the attic.” JonLuc was so very confused.
