  General Rules

Since she is a final-stage Shirabyoshi (with the exception of the special stage), she is not role-play required. However, you must set up a journal for her.
If you'd like to attempt to grow her to the special stage, however, better get roleplaying. ;D Prompt All your life up to this point you have worked, trained, and dedicated the majority of even your breaks and time off to the art of the Shirabyoshi. Now that you have achieved your goal, it seems like a whole new world has been opened up to your eyes. You have a little extra time on your hands to relax, just enough to actually do things that pique your interest. Tell us about what you have discovered you enjoy doing- whether it's simply relaxing or taking a long walk, make it interesting and appealing, and tell us why you enjoy it so much.

Entries are judged by Shirabyoshi staff.
● 1. Do your research! This is Heian Japan. We want to see accurate use of honorifics because that's part of role play. (i.e. -san, -sama) You will also have a better chance of winning the pet if you portray the time period correctly. No root beer or Prada. You don't have to burn your eyes out with research, but accuracy is much loved. <3

● Pet # 1
● Name of Pet Kotone [meaning “harp sound”]
● Personality Kotone spends her time daydreaming when she’s not practicing her Shirabyoshi ways. She finds herself in the gardens most of the day near the pond. She loves the water and the sounds that everything nature makes. She enjoys singing herself. Kotone is a kind-hearted young woman with the gift of song. She has much courage and always works hard when practicing her arts as a Shirabyoshi. She has a keen sense of smell and sound.
● Prompt Kotone walked out into the sun of midday and took in a breath. The air was pure of any impurities, which made her smile. Birds were chirping and flitting about in the garden, so she followed them. She had always enjoyed the company of the birds in the spring. They were always so lively that she couldn’t help herself but sing with them every day.
Once in the garden the scent of the flowers that were in full bloom swarmed over her. The fresh dew of the previous night’s rain smelled delightful to her now mixed with the aroma of the flowers. Two blue birds flew around her in a burst of energy from the wind that surrounded them, which made her laugh. Kotone followed the birds toward one of the larger trees in the garden near the pond. Her hands drifted just above the flowers and plants that lined the pathway that made it look more colorful.
“Thank you, my friends.” Her voice was soft and soothing to the birds’ ears, and to her own. The relaxing environment was perfect for her. The birds started to sing their own tune then. Kotone watched and listened as the hopped from side to side on the separate branches they were on and sung in different tones. She smiled and looked into the pond where there were fish swimming in circle along the pebbles. Then she started to sing.
Her voice sounded like a harp being strung. Her voice lifted and carried above the birds’. A gentle breeze washed over her skin and face as she closed her eyes and raised her arms upwards as she sung the blue birds’ tune. The song was wordless, but she enjoyed it all the same. The flowers and trees seem to lean toward Kotone just to hear her singing.
With an ending note she sat down on a rock that had been placed next to the pond for viewing purposes. The music inside her seemed to give her energy and made her soul fly free. As one bird flew toward her and hovered in the air, she started to hum her own soft tune that she had heard when she was younger. She lifted a hand to let the bird rest on her finger, and the two sung together in harmony. What a perfect way to relax the day away.
● Why you want this pet I feel that I would have fun RPing her and that she will be a fun character in general to learn and grow with in RP.

● Name of Pet Natsumi
● Personality Natsumi carries a great deal of internal conflict with her. The skills she has are not the things she enjoys, but her sense of duty and her need to make a living keep her doing them while she must often ignore what she loves. She spends her free time divided between keeping her good skills up, and taking time to enjoy the things she likes but does not do well. She is of average wit and kindness. She assumes the best of people in a social setting, believing that people are rarely intentionaly rude. She assumes the worst of people in matters of money, believing that people are greedy most of the time and will try to cheat her.
● Prompt Natsumi began the story with a low, deep voice to describe the sad way in which a brother and sister lost their parents. The siblings were split up and sent to different villages to be cared for by different relatives.
It was a story both recited and danced, and in the background a fellow Shirabyoshi played a koto. Natsumi had become well known for her recitation skills which were enhanced by her ability to widely vary the tone and timbre of her voice. Despite these skills, her singing was less pleasing and rarely called for.
An open window gave her a view of one small garden. Summer was settling upon it nicely, bringing warmth and a fine mist. The ajisai (hydrangea) were as lovely as last year and filled Natsumi with a longing to sit in the garden until she was soaked in rain and scent. Ajisai were also her favorite flower to paint, but she was usually the only one who saw beauty in her paintings.
Her voice grew sweet as the siblings grew up and forgot even each other's names. They had been young when separated. Both lived happily but felt something was missing. It was a passing meeting that brought them together again, and they fell in love. Fate seemed against it as their lives did everything possible to keep them apart, yet they still found time together.
Natsumi deftly undid a hidden catch on her two fans which released ribbons of red and orange. The siblings died together when fire swept through her village. He rushed to her aide when smoke filled the horizon, but was too late. He found her trapped under a collapsed roof and because he could not free her and would not leave her, they died there together.
Dance with both fan and sword were another of her great skills. She used wrist, arm, and elbow to spin and flip the fans to make the fabric flames dance around her faster and faster until the siblings were consumed. Flames and love grew in heat until they burned out. She shook off the ribbons and they floated down to give the image of dieing flames as she danced the last few steps of the tragedy.
Just then the day's rain began. The sound made her happy, but she knew it meant more time spent indoors and more performances required to keep everyone from becoming grouchy in the humidity. Her favorite weather kept her indoors when she wanted to be outside the most. But her training meant she did not show this disappointment on her face.
● Why you want this pet I was first attracted to the wonderful piece of art, but now that I've read about the shop and the time period I am very eager to roleplay her.

● Name of Pet Chinatsu Kaede
● Personality Kaede is quite the lady if you were to describe her, only really speaking when addressed or spoken too, a habit she was taught when young by her mother, though as she grew older she broke out of that slightly. She’s one to respect you if you respect her, not quick to judge, but instead will hear both sides of the stories before hand. She’s one who likes to have some form of order in her life, when she doesn’t she gets quite frustrated and flustered, often a funny sight but not so nice for Kaede. She’s an understanding woman who will often listen to your problems, even if she doesn’t want to, she just feels a sense of duty to be there for people when they need it. When alone Kaede will let her hair down, so to speak. She shows a side of which she usually will not show around others, a much more relaxed and free side you could say, often she’ll shift off into a deep thought, forgetting the things around her, slipping into her own little world with a bright smile upon her features and a quiet tune escaping her lips.
All in all she’s a hard worker and a lady when it comes to her work, but in her spare time she’s quite different.
● Prompt
Today was altogether a very beautiful one, the sky a bright blue without a cloud in sight and the weather nice and warm, yet with a cool and gentle breeze. Luckily Kaede was free to spend it how she wished, considering no one had chosen to call upon her presence, as of yet that was. She chose to spend it outside within the gardens, much more relaxing than the hustle and bustle of the street markets, plus as far as she could see, no one was around. That was just perfect as far as Kaede was concerned, not that she classified herself antisocial, she just preferred to be alone to dive into her thoughts.
Hands clasped together in front of her, hidden by the long sleeves of her kimono, she strolled along the old path into the garden, her liquid black gaze noting everything that was around her. From the happy birds that chirped and sang, to the many dancing cherry blossoms that whirled and twirled within the breeze and finally to the large koi pond that bubbled ever so often as a fish poked it’s head out of the water, only to cause a splashing sound as it swam speedily back down into the depths skittishly. Ah how serene and relaxing the garden was, not that Kaede didn’t find her job as a Shirabyoshi relaxing, there was just something about the garden that made it more delightful.
Slowly and at first hesitantly she moved one of her arms out, her long fingers brushing along the rough and bumpy bark of the tree nearest her, a soft sigh escaping her lips. It was nice to feel nature all around her, the sweet aroma of the flowers filling the air and the bouncy melodies of the birds something you just wanted to dance to, though for a while Kaede restrained herself from doing so, only waiting until out of sight. She hummed a quiet tune along with the birds and the swaying of the trees, a bright and tender smile upon her pale features. Quickly she silenced herself at the sound of a muffled creak. Freezing in place briefly, she quickly reached out to the nearest trunk and whipped herself around behind it, hands and back pressed firmly against the wood. Such an odd reaction it was, after all she hadn’t done anything wrong, Kaede just didn’t like people to see this side of her; she preferred to keep it to herself, a side that only she was allowed to know and allowed to be in times like these. Kaede took a minute to check if anyone was coming, listening for anymore noises, the sound of footsteps perhaps? Yet there was nothing, the cost was clear. Stepping away from the tree, she smoothed the long waves of her hair along with her kimono down, making herself look presentable once more, heaving a heavy sigh of relief when she realized she was alone.
She soon continued on her way deeper into the garden, making her way towards a group of four Sakura trees, the many hues of pink and red littered about them. Their petals twirled and danced within the wind as they descended towards the floor, putting on a grand show before finally laying to rest upon the rich green grass below. It was spectacular watching them and this was a thing Kaede loved to do, she often watched them on days like these, or whenever she could. They often gave her inspiration for songs and stories, plus they made her feel very happy, causing this bright smile to overcome her features, something not normally seen upon Kaede, not that she didn’t smile, it was just this smile had much more truth in it, this smile showed the real Kaede.
Kaede froze once more as the sound of footsteps came up behind her, stopping promptly a few inches away. Her smile soon faded to a more placid one, the usual smile she kept upon her lips, quite unlike her previous one, no traces of that Kaede left ''Yes..’’ She addressed the person behind her, her voice was calm and even, with a deep and mature pitch to it.
''Um Kaede-sama your presence has been requested.’’ Spoke a girl shyly. At that Kaede said nothing else, finishing the conversation there, if you could call it a conversation. Before leaving she turned and bowed her head slightly to the young girl, in thanks for delivering the message. After that she strolled slowly and elegantly on passed, her hands clasped once more in front of her and her head held slightly high, her dark gaze set in front of her and her mind now preoccupied by her work.
● Why you want this pet Well for one I do enjoy to rp, that’s one of the main things I really do and I do quite enjoy the shops concept and think it’d be fun to role play in that setting with this character, plus it’d be nice to try my hand at something different like this.
