Shadai was seriously going to kill that woman for leaving her precious Cody all alone at that church yesterday. She didn't care if there was an activity going on or that there had apparently been two other children there that Cody had befriended. The fact remained that the toddler had been dumped off and left there, alone, for close to two hours and if she hadn't gotten off work early, she was pretty sure that the toddler would have been stranded there even longer. Ooh, Arytiss was so going to pay...
"Mummy! Come on! Swings!" Cody giggled, excited that his mother was with him and at a park. It was like a giant backyard, but there were other kids there and these huge things you could climb on. Yet what excited him the most were the gigantic swings that when you swung on, it felt like you were flying! Oh how he wished he was able to fly, but sadly his wings lacked the strength to carry him.
Shadai giggled and released Cody's hand so he could run over to the swings ahead of her. Already she was looking around, half expecting to see a spawn. After all, it seemed like that was all they ran into nowadays. Last week it was Tykier, a few days ago Mimosa, and yesterday 'Ludra and Lir... At least, that's who Cody said he had met. And to make up for the abandonment, here she was, trying to get Cody to waste some of his seemingly boundless energy.
Cody giggled and ran over to the swings in all his child-like excitement. He was determined to get as high as possible as he sat down onto one of the swings and started pumping his legs. Slowly, the swing started moving higher and higher, much to his utmost excitement and happiness.

Vinny found himself at the park after walking someways from his house. He had been lost for a while, and had made the only wise decision a child could make in such a situation--find something familar, and follow it. So he followed the sidewalk to the park in Barton. And hey, as long as his mother wasn't worried, he was safe from her wrath--right?
He noted some other children, none of which he knew. He smiled at them, and headed for the slide. He slid down once, before looking to a younger boy on the swings. That looked like fun. His earwings flapped slightly, as he walked over to the swings. He sat on the seat of the swing, and started to pump his legs--his earwings occassionally helping him out by flapping.
He still couldn't float, like the angel of Humility, but he was determined to learn.

"Hello," Cody greeted as he swung by, still giggling happily as he seemingly flew through the air with the help of the swing and the momentum he was causing with his wings and legs.
"What your name?" he asked as he passed by again, curious about the new person already. He looked a bit like 'Ludra yet... he didn't. Perhaps they knew each other. Yet, the toddler didn't bother asking since he was having far too much fun on the swing and its amazing ability to make it seem like you were flying. Ah, the simple pleasures in life.

Vincent smiled. "Hi," he said as he pased the younger boy. "My name's Vinny. Well, Vincent but no one calls me that. I don't like it much." He made a face to show how he felt about his full name. His name wasn't very modest at all, seeing as it meant 'Victorious'. He didn't feel like he deserved a name like that.
The older boy continued to pump, using his legs and wings for speed. "So what do you like to do?" He asked when he passed by again. "What games do you like?"

Cody grinned in reply. "I'm Cody. What do I like do? I like Hide-n-seek, swinging, tag... I think that it. What you like to do, Vinny?" he asked when he passed the other now known as Vinny. He was nice enough... Perhaps they could play tag.
A flash of gold suddenly caught his attention and his eyes were drawn to the golden wing. It was so pretty... He wondered if he could request getting one later or perhaps snag one without him noticing... No chance, unless the feather magically fell out, he'd notice really easily if his experience with pulling his hair feathers out on accident was anything to go by.

Vinny had to think about it, and smiled. "I like hide-n-seek, pretend, tag, action figures.. Pretty much everything, really." He especially liked playing games. The older boy caught Cody looking at his head wing. "You have cooler wings than I do." He said, envious. But then, he probably wasn't good enough to have wings like that.
"I can't even float, like my angel dad. I'm going to try to learn though.. Can you fly at all?" He asked, with a slight tilt of his head. He knew that Joshua's friend Nataya could fly, maybe this boy could too.

Cody tilted his head, curious. "Nu-uh. You have cooler wing. It's pretty and made of feathers," he replied, pausing to think about the next question. Could he fly? Well, in a sense he could, if hovering three to four inches above the ground was considered flying...
"Sort-a. Can hover a few inches. Tiring though," the toddler admitted, his wings fluttering a bit, almost as if the toddler disliked saying something he could do tired him. "I wish I had pretty gold feathers like you. Mine are just plain-old pink," he added scowling slightly at the fact that the feathers in his hair weren't an amazing color like gold or purple.

Vinny shook his head, rather difficult when swinging. "If my wings were cooler than yours, I'd be able to fly." He said, sounding as wise as a boy his age could. "I'd love to hover, even." He paused. "But someday, I'll fly as well as anyone else." He knew that when that day came, he would feel bad. His older brother was far more deserving of wings than he was.
"I like your wings--and your feathers. They're a pretty color. Like your hair. Mine's boring." He shrugged. "And a lot of people like pink--it's a bright color." Not that Vinny personally liked pink--no, being raised by someone who had such a phobia like his mother, he'd always known to be wary of it.

Cody paused to think. It seemed as if Vinny was turning down every compliment he tried to give. Now, what could he possibly do to change that? "You may not think so, but they cooler to me. Maybe I help with you hovering or flying?" he questioned, wondering how good of a teacher he could be when he was so much younger than the other.
"How yours boring? They're pretty, and uni-unik... unique," the toddler added, grinning. He had yet to see someone with such pretty gold feathers, but it definitely wasn't his first time seeing that color. Not with his constant sneaking into Ary or Shadai's room at least.

Vinny had never gotten a compliment like that before, he didn't know how to deny it. So he merely nodded. "Maybe to you." He agreed. He looked at the boy, suddenly hopeful. "You think you can?" He asked. Oh, he hoped. How he hoped. He wanted learn to hover and fly so badly.
"They aren't pretty--they're the color of money." He said with a nod. Then again, he liked the color of money. It could buy things. "Except, my wings aren't as good as money. I can't get stuff with them." He paused. "You know.. You're unique too. I've never seen anyone with feathers in their hair like yours. It's cool."

Cody nodded, grinning. "I can try. Not sure if I can help much," he replied, slowing his swing down a bit in a gradual attempt to stop and pursue something else as a means of entertainment. What that would be, he had yet to decide.
"Money pretty though. Gold sparkly. So is silver and metal things... No one with hair-feathers? Awesome," the toddler agreed, though probably for a different reason. Although he didn't voice it, the toddler was already wondering if you could trade in feathers for money or something shiny. He had heard that there was a little fairy that went around giving kids money for teeth, so why not feathers?

Vinny stopped his swing eagerly, and went to stand by the toddler. "Trying's better than nothing, Mom always says." He shrugged. His mom was usually right, which probably came from her being an elf. He smiled at the toddler. "So.. What do I do first?" He asked.
He shook his head slightly, listening to the boy talk about metals. "Metal's boring. It's gold, silver and bronze that people like. Oh, and copper too." He said. "They're the shiny things. I don't think they should even be counted as metal." He paused, and nodded at the younger boy. "Right. It's not like anklewings or something, a lot of people have those."

Cody nodded, disagreeing on the subject of metals. They had a different sort of feel, like precious gems, and had an extra shine to it than some items that were mixed or fake. "First? I... Don't know," he admitted, getting off the swing and standing a little away from Vinny.
Frowning in concentration, he flapped his wings a couple of times to help him remember how it felt to suddenly get lighter and for the wind to swirl quickly around him. "Well... I s'pose you would flap them as much as you can. Get lighter n' lighter till you get off the ground," he said, telling the older one as much as he knew about flying. "Your head-wings smaller, might not work as well. Might need to try harder," he added, realizing finally that his wings were indeed smaller when compared to his body size.

Vinny was off to a rough start. His headwings flapped and flapped, and he lifted an inch from the ground--and fell. "Did you see?" He asked the younger boy. "I did it! I've never been able to do that." He smiled brightly, if he hadn't been a child of humility, he would have been rather proud of himself.
"But maybe we should try harder?" He asked. "I didn't go very high--how high can you go?" He asked, with a slight tilt of his head.

Cody grinned happily and clapped his hands at the achievement. "Yes! Very good!" he said excitedly. He was glad he could help his new friend out with something. He paused to listen for a moment then nodded.
"Try harder, yes. Went plenty high... How high I can go?" he questioned and frowned. Instantly his wings start to flap as hard as he could and only rose a few inches before falling back down, tired. "Not much... more than you. You do good, though! Good start," he finally managed to answer, panting a bit from the sudden strain flight brought.
