"C'mon, Lir, it'll be- What the hell is all of this?!"

"What's all of what, Daddy?" Lironax asked, abandoning his habitual collecting of feathers and hurrying to catch up with his foster father, who had turned a corner. However, his question was answered for him by the mass of color and noise that assaulted his eyeballs. For as far as he could see down the street in front of their apartment, there were people toting around rainbow-colored flags and rainbow-colored banners. Boys were holding hands with other boys, and there was a float that starred two girls kissing. Almost everyone was dressed up like it was a costume party: there were more plumes and sparkles and wings than Lir could count. On the flip side, there were many people who were barely wearing anything at all; he tended to stare at them for longer than any of the others. A small crowd had gathered on the street, some cheering, others booing. All the excitement was contagious, and a delighted smile grew upon his face as he looked up at Silas. "What's all this, Daddy? What are they celebrating?"

Silas, on the other hand, seemed to be more annoyed by this than anything else. Glancing down at Lironax, he sighed and rolled his eyes. "It's a pride parade, by the looks of it. People celebrating their homosexuality. But chiefly, it's an annoyance." Taking his son by the hand, he began leading him through the crowd. "C'mon, let's look for a place to cross." With difficulty, he began pushing and elbowing his way to the front. Of course it was going down his street. Of ******** course.

Lironax wasn't making the matter any easier by openly staring in delight at the parade once they got to the front. He had never seen so many people so happy, or dressed in such neat clothes. He giggled in pure happiness, and waved with his tentacle at some of them. To his joy, a few of them waved back, and he bounced up and down excitedly. "Did you see, Daddy? They waved to me!"

"Yeah, that's awesome, Lir," Silas said absently, too busy looking up along the street for an opening. Sure, it was nice that the gay people were being proud of who they were, but they were in the freaking way. All he wanted to do was cross the street, and now that could take a half an hour, for all he knew.

It seemed that, as usual, Silas' luck was against him. Of course, that was nothing new. Thing never did go Silas' way, after all; it was just the course of the universe, wasn't it?

"Hey there, hunny!!" came the surprisingly deep voice of a rather pretty... woman? No, definitely not a woman. But whoever it was was dolled-up enough, over-exaggerated enough, that it was obvious that 'she' wasn't trans. Nope, this one was definitely a queen, and a very good one at that. She was dressed in very gypsy-reminiscence clothing in greens and blues mostly, covered in gold sequins, with a hat practically made of peacock feathers. She giggled cheerily from behind her colourful makeup, bending down to pet down Lir's hair.

"Oh my, aren't you just the cutest little girl I ever did set my eyes on~" the young man squealed happily, fawning over Lironax, before catching sight of the wing and mock-gasping. "And an angel to boot!! My, my, whoever gets you is a very lucky man~" she said, giggling a bit and glancing up at Silas with a smile as sweet as sugar. "Hey there, hunny, you here for the festival, too?"

Silas nearly jumped out of his skin at the appearance of the drag queen, and glared at him (her? Oh, who cared.) venomously. He pulled Lironax a little closer to him protectively. Not that he didn't trust the drag queen - well, he didn't trust the drag queen, but no more than the gay-bashing homophobes a few feet away. Hell, he didn't trust people in general, and with good reason. "No, we live across the street. We're trying to get home," he replied sharply. "And my son is male, thank you."

Lironax, having not noticed the gender confusion, was busy staring in awe at the drag queen. He had never seen a more confusing person: the voice was too low for a girl, but... well, just look at those clothes! But then, he was wearing a dress right now, wasn't he? Quickly deciding it didn't matter, he stepped closer to the queen, much to Silas' annoyance. "Hee, thanks! I'm not an angel, though; only half of one," he said, pointing to his wing, which flapped happily. His golden eyes were soon drawn up to the enormous plumes that were on the other's head, and he quite nearly gasped. "Wow, those feathers are so pretty!" Without him noticing, his tentacle reached out and started making a grabbing motion towards the feathers.

Silas hit his face with his palm. This probably wasn't going to go well.

Angelina, as her stage name happened to be, smiled at the youth's surprising enthusiasm, a great contrast to the teenager who was apparently the little one's father. She gave a bit of a frown toward the male, hat feathers fluffing a bit. "Ah, do ya really? I'm sorry, we're all in the way aren't we?" she asked sweetly.

"Hey, I've got an idea. I can show you guys through the crowd as best I can without interrupting the parade, as long as you let me pamper up your baby girl with a few little things," she said, face surprisingly innocent as she looked up at Silas. She looked back toward the boy, pinching his cheek lightly. "What d'you think, sweetie? We could go find you some pretty dresses and maybe even a tiara to go with 'em?" she suggested, chuckling when the girl's tentacle reached out toward her hat.

Reaching up, she plucked one of the peacock feathers from her cap and held it out, spinning it between two fingers. "Here you go, baby. All your's."

Silas noticed the frown that he was given, and matched it inch for inch with his glare. "Yeah, you really are." He listened silently to the proposal, his natural loathing of others and his need to get home battling inside him and making him chafe. It was especially annoying that dolling Lir up was part of the deal. He was already having a hell of a time keeping his son from prancing around in girl's clothes as it were; he didn't need random drag queens throwing their two cents in.

Lironax himself was already sold on the idea before it finished coming out of the pretty woman's mouth, and when she gave him one of her feathers, it pretty much sealed the deal. He gasped and let his tentacle snatch the thing up, bringing it close to his face and marveling at the shades of green and blue. "Omigosh, really? Like, really? Omigosh, omigosh, thank you!!" Without a second thought, Lir jumped forward and wrapped his arms around the drag queen's waist, hugging her tightly.

If there was one good thing about Silas, he could see when he had lost a battle, for he sighed once again and stepped forward. "Okay, you know what, fine. Lead us on through, and you can dress up my boy as you see fit."

Lir smiled widely at his father, seeing as this was more than he had expected from him, and bounced happily at the idea of more dresses. "What kind of dresses do you have, miss? And are you sure it's okay if I wear them?"

Angelina laughed heartily as the little girl clung around her waist, and she patted the little one gently on the head. When she looked at Silas, howevermuch most people would have glared or screamed at him for his ignorance, she simply gave him a smile at his actually submitting to letting them dress up the cute little one. At the question, Angie smiled and giggled girlishly, giving a dreamy sort of a sigh and looking forward, taking Lir's hand so that he wasn't about to get anywhere that he shouldn't be or ending up getting run into by anyone. After all, she was the go-to girl for these sorts of events; knew her way around like her own home.

"'Course it's okay if you wear 'em, sugar. Heck, if you keep 'em we really wouldn't mind. We've got plenty of them and the best designer this side'a the Mississippi," she said proudly, dresses swishing around her ankles, hips swaying as best they could given her masculine build. She did a very good job of slipping them through the crowd, having taken Silas' hand sometime in the middle of all of this when he got trapped being ground up against by a man in only a sequin-covered thong. She let go of the teenager by the time they reached the kids' and drag tent, assuming that the other wanted nothing to do with them but an easy way home.

"Hey, girls!!" Angie said, tossing her arms into the air as they entered the little tent, a wide smile on her face. "This is-" she suddenly paused, blinking down at the little one before chuckling again, getting down on her knees. "I'm sorry, baby, I never did get your name, did I?" she asked, but there was someone there who could answer it easily.

"Lironax...?" the voice was familiar enough. After all, Noah had left the kids with the meek, deer-antlered little name-alike many times before. The brunette came out from behind a shelf, covered in lipstick-kisses and with a pair of underwear practically attached to his head, the usual bruises on his face and other such places. Pulling the underwear off his head and tossing them to the side, he laughed softly. "Hey! Didn't expect to see you here, of all people. What brings the two of you out here?" Of course, he didn't really know Silas. Just what he looked like, given Noah never shut up about him. Of all things, that was what really got on Nouă's nerves.

Lironax grew even more and more excited as the pretty feather-lady described the kinds of dresses he would be able to wear, even keep! The concept was almost beyond him, and filled him with so much glee that he could barely remember being lead through the parade, and didn't even notice when Angelina saved Silas from a horny parade-goer.

The next thing he knew, he was bouncing excitedly inside the tent, which contrasted beautifully with Silas' mounting anger. The teenager couldn't help it; a guide through the mass of gay people was nice, and he did appreciate it, but he did NOT sign up to be sexually accosted by a hormone-driven Chippendale. He leaned against the side of the tent in an unobtrusive corner. As much as he wanted to go home, he was going to wait here until Lir was done being fawned over by these crazy people.

Well, maybe he could go home. Silas blinked in mild surprise when he saw Nouă come out from a separate part of the tent, and nodded to himself in self-satisfaction. He knew that odd antler-man was gay. Lironax, in turn, bounced happily and darted up to the person he recognized. "Hihi, Nouă! I'm here to get all dressied up!" The spawn beamed proudly (in the background, Silas rolled his eyes in despair), and then stepped closer and asked curiously. "Wow, what happened to your face, Nouă? Didja get hurt or something?"

Nouăsprezece chuckled at the little one's excitement, patting him on the head before lifting a hand to attempt to detangle the underwear from his antlers. Just his luck, he ended up getting them even more messed up with his antlers. He grumbled softly, chuckling a bit at the little crossdresser's concern. "Nah, I'm fine. It's my usual luck. I think I might have fallen on a pile o-" he paused for a moment and blinked a few times, before his face started to heat up and he chuckled nervously.

"N-nevermind. A-Angie, did you want me to find so-some stuff for Lir to wear?" Nouă questioned with that sheepish smile still on his face, the blush making his face blend with the lipstick all over his face. Angie smiled and patted him on the shoulder.

"Nah, it's okay, hunny. I can get her some things to put on in a jif," she said sweetly, disappearing to the masses of racks that seemed to be everywhere in the little tent. Nouă stood nervously for a moment, smiling a bit at the two of them. "So... urr... what brings... you two here...?"

Silas chuckled quietly to himself at the sight of Nouă losing a wrestling match with the underwear in his antlers, while Lironax merely looked on in slight concern. He himself knew the dangers of tangly clothing; when he had been a toddler, he had had all kinds of terrifying experiences where he'd tied himself up in his clothing because of a limb stuck in the wrong place. If he had been taller, he would have offered his assistance, but as that was not the case, he merely bounced on his heels contentedly, looking around the crowded tent in wonder.

A bright smile alighted Lironax's face at Nouă's question; any excuse to explain his good fortune again! Flapping his tentacle and wriggling his wing, he stood on his tiptoes with excitement. "The really nice Angie lady said that she'd give me some dressies to wear, and all she had tah do was help get us across the street!" He turned around to look at Silas, brooding away in his corner. "And she did a really good job, huh Daddy?"

Silas sighed and gave Lir a thumbs-up in return, only to roll his eyes and recross his arms in an even grumpier fashion than before. "Matter of ******** opinion," he muttered under his breath.

Not noticing his father's ill temper, Lironax began wandering curiously around the tent, peering at all of the shiny and colorful clothes. "So, what is alla this, Nouă? Like, why are there so many clothes here?"
PostPosted: Sat Jul 18, 2009 3:53 am

Nouă chuckled in amusement at Lironax's excitement, smiling happily toward the little male... female? Male... he wasn't completely sure, but then again, that was no different from his own self and his... bizarre DNA. That thought had him smiling in amusement as he reminded himself that his wife [or 'mate', as the Eilians often called it] was female, whereas his specific... gender... for his race dictated that he should be with another male. And that thought, of course, was only because of the festivities happening around him and quickly brought a bright-coloured blush to his face, fidgeting nervously with the simple engagement ring he wore on his left hand.

When Lir started wandering around the tent, Nouă jumped and nearly knocked over a rack of clothing in his hurry to make sure to follow the little one, making absolutely positive to pull the child back when he nearly wandered into the closed-off area where the Queens were strapping themselves down and the Kings... were doing the opposite. Face hot, he turned away from the changing stalls, pushing Lironax away from the others and addressing the question he'd asked, albeit hesitantly.

"I- I- well there, I mean- Wh-what wa- clothes! Right, clothes, clothes," Nouă said, giggling nervously in the cute fashion that often had so many gay men latching onto him. "W-well, this is wh-where a lot of the Queens a-and Kings get ready to perform. I mean, well, d-drag Kings and Queens. They dress like the opposite ge-gender, basically, and then th-they sing or d-dance or w-well, things l-like that. I'm one of th-the costume designers h-here, so... y-yeah. That's why I'm here," he said with a sheepish smile, continuing to fidget with the ring before Angelina came back in.

"Well I just found the ca-utest things for you to wear, hunny," she said happily, a bright smile on her face as she got the outfits out. There were five in all, and all but one was simple. There was a cute little blue dress that had a tube top with faux fur along the top and bottom, and another version in pink, both looking like they could have been teddies on older women. There was a flowy dress that was in a few different shades of purple, and a similar but shorter one in yellow, and last of all was a sort of fairy princess dress, covered in opalescent beads in very intricate patterns along with silver-tipped feathers all along it, the skirt itself lined with a slip and two petticoats to fluff it up. Angie had also taken out a decent-sized pair of feathery strap-on wings and both a fur-trimmed tiara and a furry, white halo, not to mention the many different rings and necklaces that she'd brought out in a jewelery box.

"Now, sorry the wings aren't in your colour, baby, but the least we can do is have Nouă over here fix them up so you can have two wings -one'a which won't be real, but who's to know?- without anything fitting uncomfortably. And you can go 'head and pick whatever you want to wear and you just tell Auntie Angie, ya hear? And I'll help you stuff and strap so that you can even be in the show with us!" she glanced over at the seething male and smiled, chuckling a bit. "Now, now, Silas, Lirona's in good hands around here, I promise. Hows about one of my girlfriends takes you the rest of the way home, or you could walk yourself. Nouă and the rest of us will take care of Lir 'til Nouă takes her home, mmkay?"

Lironax gasped and rushed over to the series of dresses that Angie brought out, marveling at how nice they were. None of his dresses had ever been so nice-looking, probably because almost all of them were second-hand. Not that he was complaining, but the quailty was an unexpected surprise. Reverently reaching out and stroking the fabric of the pink tube top, he smiled widely up at Angelina, looking so happy that he could have started crying. "Oh my goodness... Thank you, thank you, thank you so much so much Angie~!!" Once again, he tackled the drag queen's midsection and gave it a tight hug before going back to marvel over the clothes he was going to get to wear.

Silas merely glared more as the drag queen smiled at him, seeing nothing funny about this situation. Part of him still wanted to deny Angelina what (s)he wanted, but as he glanced at Lironax pouring over the mountain of accessories in joyful awe, he knew that he couldn't do that to his son. Sighing and glancing to the side irritably, he finally gave in. "Fine. You can take of Lironax for a while as long as you get me home unmolested. Just make sure he gets home by eight-thirty; he has school tomorrow. Apartment 2C." Glancing around the Queen, he called out to his son. "See you later, Lironax. Be good, okay?" He smiled and rolled his eyes as he was completely ignored (Lironax was reveling in the feeling of wearing a feather boa, a vaild excuse) and was reluctantly lead out of the tent by a skinny King.

A good fifteen minutes later, Lironax tapped the small of Nouă's back, holding the flowing yellow dress, a golden tiara, a long pair of white silky gloves, and a bunch necklaces that were gold, silver, and pink. "Um, um, Nouă. I gots the clothes I want to wear. Can you make them fit now, pretty please?"
PostPosted: Sun Nov 08, 2009 5:39 am

Even Nouă was glad for the turn-of-events that lead to Lironax being able to stay with them for the rest of the afternoon, not that he would admit something like that to Silas. Then again, he wasn't sure that he would admit anything to Silas, given the... teenager was so moody and prone to snapping at people for simply trying to have a good time. The earlier conversations they'd been having in the tent were good examples of that. Honestly, the skunk-haired boy acted like he was five-times his real age sometimes...

The antlered male smiled kindly when Lironax approached him with the outfit that he wanted to wear, and lead him into a changing stall where he doctored a few things for a better fit and tucked and trimmed and other such things until Lir could have passed for a little girl without so much as a second glance. Patting the little one's head, he gestured for her to follow after Angie and simply waited until the day was... well, mostly done, at least.

It was then that he walked hand-in-hand with the little girl / boy down the street, Lir's earlier-worn clothing in a bag that Nouă was carrying while the other wore the dress he'd been put into earlier. Finally, the Eilian tapped gently at the door to Silas' apartment with his friend in-tow, waiting for an answer and gently swaying back and forth as he gave feedback to the happy musings of the child at his side.
