Physical Description: She’s tall, topping out at 5’9”. For all that height, she barely has any fat to her, most of her body weight in the tone muscles in her legs and back. Long blonde hair is pulled into a high pony tail, though her bangs hang in her green eyes. She’s not a soft girl, by any means. Her curves, where she has them, are hard angles of muscle from her weyrbrat work. She wears a basic pair of breeches and a tunic, and light boots.
Personality: Ariaen has a bit of a short temper and just loves to lash out at the rather girlier girls of the weyr. She’s coarse and harsh at times, but determined. Being the single daughter in a family of five brothers has taken any idea of her being a housewife, and a girl, and chewed it up and spit it out. Ariaen is very much a tomboy, rather being found out in the muck, up to her knees in it, than be being indoors learning weaving or healing. Only her closest friends see that she is, deep down, a good person. That being said, Ariaen tends to have more enemies than friends when it comes to people. Not that she cares. She’d just rather get her work done, and done right, then goof off.
Just don't try to piss Ariaen off. I'm serious. Ariaen's temper is not the best, as before mentioned, and she as a wicked kick. Her temper can, and has gotten her in trouble before. Usually, she just yells and tells the offending person, most usually a girl, to quote 'ef off and do whatever it is you're supposed to be doing' and goes about her way. When things get ugly, and the offending person doesn't know, or just want to see how far she'll go, she attacks them. Literally. She's sent people to the Healers with bloody noses and once even with broken ribs.
Ari hates beyond anything to be cornered and ganged up on. When she is, she lets her instincts to take over, and after almost eighteen years of life in a house of boys, those instincts are to fight, and not flight. Most people try to not let her explode on them. Some of the more stupid one, or newer ones who don't know, get the full force of her temper. Not a pretty sight, seeing the aftermath of that.
History: Ariaen was born to a family already feeding five mouths. Her brothers are all older than her, the youngest being two turns older and the oldest being ten turns away from her. Her mother is in the Healing craft and was determined to get Ariaen to be a healer, as all the boys dove off into the smithy with their father. Much to her chagrin, Ariaen was far too much like her brothers for any ‘girly’ stuff, and only learned basic healing craft. Sometime around the age of 10 she ran off to the smiths to try to be an apprentice under her father. It only lasted for a few years, and she picked up only very basic skills. Having nowhere else to go she decided to become a weyrbrat, like her eldest brother did. It was good work, and it kept her from beating up the gossipy girl apprentices her mother taught. She never thought about being a Candidate until she saw some of the other weyrbrats Impressing. Ariaen was never a fan of the great big beasts, preferring the firelizards. But, seeing as she’s had neither (firelizard eggs being far too expensive for her family, and never thinking of being a Candidate) she’s open to the possibility of Impressing. Not that she’d tell you that, or fuss over it, of course. To anyone who doesn’t know her, she is just a rather determined weyrbrat who gets all her work done before anyone else.

Other/Talents: She has basic Healing craft, but is good for healing cuts on the fly if needed.

I'd like to see her personality fleshed out just a tiny bit more. Put any details you want to- they help me make better matches. biggrin
