The IC-Home is The Sarnin Observatory . Meaning that, in reality, they live out "in the middle of nowhere" for lack of a better turn. Ever seen Howl's Moving Castle? There's a door like that, which links to Maru's small closet-house which is in walking distance from the MM-HQ. (Basically, Maru has a door that can open to various places that she's linked to. Cheating? Yes. X3 ) If something happens there, most likely it'll affect here too.

Keep the wangst and drama down to a minimum! Don't try to be "angsty," please. Most people who try just come off as whining, and it ticks the heck out of me. >_>

Gin is a mischievious prankster, and she doesn't let her state of pregnancy stop her! Her best trick is to animate the dead - skeletons, to be exact. Occasionally she will rise to the challenge of re-animating a corpse, and has even re-created a few B-Rated Horror Flick movie scenes with them for her own, pure amusement. This is only when she's outside - like a cat, she enjoys being clean... A corpse doesn't help make matters any better when a random limb falls off and the rest of it sags.
When not seeking attention, she can be seen quietly mellowing out. The only times she has truely gotten loud is when she's seeking attention or needs something, but is too comfortable in her current position to get it. Even though she claims to not want the child, it is possible to catch rare glimpses of her rubbing her stomach and talking to it softly... All though it's in a language that Maru can't understand.

As a fox-demoness, Marushii takes the "fox" part to heart. Is her carefree attitude towards life and everything in general an act; a mask to hide the contemplative soul within? Perhaps it is, perhaps it is not. In any event, she appears to be a carefree soul that treats life like a game. All ways one to look on the brighter side of things, it's hard to believe that she hasn't been brought down by a demonslayer yet, muchless run her own business. Ever the prankster, she's as bad as an angry spirit - except her pranks aren't done in spite, but for pure amusement.
It is only when one has gained her trust do her true, calmer colors show. It is here, at this stage, that those who have reached it can put their minds at ease when it comes to the vixen's tricks - after all, they've managed to put up with her this far, so why bother testing them? She is sympathetic and calm, willing to step back and help those in need with all her power - and then some. Her true, tender nature is at its highest here, and she will not hesitate to offer her shoulder to those who need it and an arm to wrap around them and hold them close, protecting them as it seems the world is about to end. However, just because she shows her quieter side doesn't mean that her optimism or humor has faded - it's just been temporarily set aside in favor of showing that she is, indeed, a person that has more feelings than a mere lowly demon.

Marushii's sister and assistant at The Sarnin Observatory, only Maru is unaware that her assistant is, indeed, her sister. o_o She could be described as "the weird one," but this human gets along with Gin really well.

Marushii's friend and companion, Corgan helps maintain order at The Sarnin Observatory. He his the strongest warrior there, and is often ridiculed by Gin. He takes it all in stride and insults her back -- they get along pretty well, all though Corgan's often too busy focusing on his work to pay her any special heed.

Dra'Seiya is a draconic - a Sarnin that is part dragon. He is a Seer, and can see into the future... a bit. Not by very much, actually - not many know of this, and he hides it the best that he can. Dra'Seiya doesn't mind Gin, and it's as if they have some sort of respect for each other - the most interaction that they have done is simple courteous greetings.

Gin's skeletal servent, whom she animates by flicking and waving her tail(s) in various patterns, or manipulates with hand gestures. Gin has a strong control over the dead, and named "Nemo" with a silent "k" tacked onto the front of his name. "Nemo" means "nobody" in Latin. It's unknown exactly what species of human or human-esque creature he is/was, but in any event he's dead and really is stored in the closet.
Relationship: Gin's Servant
Species: Human... Or elf. Half-elf? Whatever he was, he has a strong resemblence to a human.

The Outside:
The Observatory itself is set in a niche in the mountains, far away from the human-cities so that it takes a two-hour flight to reach them with good winds. The area around the Observatory is a small meadow with several trees, which eventually gently rolls down and into the forest, where paths can be seen. The forest has grown close together, giving a VERY strong hint that it isn't wise to fly through here. West of the Observatory is a waterfall, about a twenty minue walk away and an even less flight. The water forms into a lake that forms one river that slices through the forest like a knife, as well as seemingly countless streams. Various creatures live within the forest, from normal bears and wolves to the far-out dragons, unicorns, centaurs, sirens... The list goes on and on.
The Observatory's Main Room:
It's like your standard Star-Observatory... One big room, though the telescope's gone. Instead, an office was installed in back for Maru (and who knows how many rooms are in there!), as well as a kitchen for all hungry Sarnins and their companion-owners. The place appears to be more of a louge or some comfortable cafe, complete with many pillows and couches. There are a few stairs that lead to the upstairs, cunningly placed as to not block the view from the wide windows. The stairs lead to the roof, whereupon part of the "dome" has been flattened to turn into a sort of take off and landing pad. There are also a few pillows up here that are used for sun bathing -- when they're not clogged with water, that is.
Back Rooms The back rooms is where the living area is at - if you enter the Observatory's main door, you'll need to go through Maru or Kat's office in order to get to it... It's better for your health if you go through Maru's. Honestly.

What?
A nekomata is a "demon cat." In Japan, it is believed that when a cat reaches the age of 10 years old, they gain magical powers. To show this, their tail splits into two. The tail can split in two in two places: at the base for two full-length tails, or halfway down the tail to form a "Y." Aside from the tail, nekomata also differ from usual cats by having large canines and sharper-pointed ears. They can also walk upright on their hind legs, and preform their magic by moving their paws or by flicking their tails. Nekomata also hold grudges... Just to warn you. >3
Powers:
Nekomata are best known for being able to control the dead. Otherwise, their powers fall under that of necromancy and shamanism: death-magic and spirit-magic. They can also wear a human appearance, but this appearance comes with some... unwanted side-effects.
Nekomata can take on a human guise. Two well-known forms:
-- The "good" nekomata: The guise is that of a young person who has a very docile nature, enjoys eating fish, is appeasing to the eye and likes depending on others.
-- The "bad" nekomata: The guise is that of an old person usually that of an old woman's. "She" displays bad habits in public and all ways has an air of dread about her -- if people are around it for an extended period of time, it can cause disease and pestilence.
What happens if you, y'know, tick one off?
Most likely, they'll animate the bones or corpse of a dead realitive and haunt you with it. biggrin Or they'll eat you. If you're crueler than the nekomata, then the nekomata that eats you will become crueler. It's unknown if this theory works with people who are kinder than the demon.
How can I get them to stop?
Appease them! Give them offerings, fish, catnip... Most of all, give them respect. And if one's about to eat you, you better hope that they're a part of the 66% of cats that are affected by catnip, since nekomata are geared upon hurting the person as much as they can upon sight. Kittens of both "normal" cats and nekomata species aren't affected by catnip at all until they are 6-8 weeks old.
Anything important I should know? Concerning how you RP, that is.
I personally play a nekomata as having both death and spirit powers... And preferring to control skeletons instead of zombies. :3 Other important things'll be added here as soon as I can think of them, or as soon as they come up in RP.
