Anyone who happens to have the time, Fox is showing an episode of Trading Spouses at 8-9pm that is, well, "interesting," to say the least.
A hypnotherapist and a devout southern Christian trade family settings. I don't want to imply any hints of people on either cultural side of this, but I think it's worth seeing if you get the chance. whee
EDIT: And let's remember, the little fit of crazy one particular woman goes through is not on behalf of religion, but on behalf of stubborn intolerance. That's what will often drag a perfectly fulfilling faith through the mud.

eek I refuse!! *flees in terror*
Its this sort of televised scripting that gives normal Christians a bad name. My friend had a cousin who was on survivor, and they picked the winner before the show even started. Its all scripted..the whole thing...Its not even real.
They take people's falsely preconcieved notions that Christians are dumbass bible thumpers out to get blood (ok, so mabey in Texas it pertains) and then they exaggerate it for entertainment. Ugh...
Erm..yeah..so..it sounds...like a decent..way to stare at a glowy box thing with pictures? sweatdrop
*quits whilst she is ahead*

*quits whilst she is ahead* Actually, the rest of the Louisianna family were extremely hospitable, and they even showed a Christian psychic on the Massachusetts family's radio show who'd been wearing a cross since he was 12. I think they actually made it pretty clear that she was in fact giving her family and her roots a terrible name. Either way, it was just funny how uncomfortable she got from the slightest things. xd Her own family was actually sort of uncomfortable about her. And it wasn't like they made the Massachusetts mom look like she had a level head. When a daughter from the Louisianna family agreed to go under hypnotherapy with her, she fell asleep, and there was this awkward moment while the mom was counting down to help her back to consciousness, and she was out cold. whee

I refuse to induldge the media by wasting my time watching such shows. You know they're going to edit it to get as much drama out of it as possible, which means portraying extremes in general. Then again I don't trust TV for a realistic portrayal of anything... stare

Well I refused because: -I hate those shows -They specifically asked because of my religion (they saw me on a pagan website)

That sounds fascinating. I should check that out. I love stories of racism and intolerance.

I missed most of the show except for the part when the two moms meet and go back home. All I have to say about what I saw is that it really scares me to know that there are people in this world who act like that in real life.

. . . yeah, I don't watch television. But I've been hearing a hell of a lot about this and to tell you the truth it makes my eye twitch. Just the whole concept of it from beginning to end. 1) that the media is taking both religions and making a mochery of them by showing some right/left wing extremists. And 2) that these people actually agreed to be on this show in the first place . . . thus adding to the degration of any moral fiber left within their respected spiritual commodities.

It's rather frightening how close-minded and ignorant people can be...

**Ahamed to be from Louisiana** crying Just kidding xp Yeah, Marguerite was nuts, but I hate it when shows like this help to increase tensions between already possible "enemies". I've ranted on this from a Pagan viewpoint already. She is Not a Christian!

That lady lives close to me... crying My mom, aunt, cousin, and I were very furious at the way this woman acted and considered that something "else" might be seriously wrong with her.
