Long, long ago, not long after time had began, there were great deities that walked the land.
Each God or Goddess staked their claim on the land, plotting their villages, and towns and cities.
Some teamed up, some worked alone, but the King of the Gods reigned supreme over them all.
After many years, the King of the gods decided that to make his subjects cities grow, they needed help. So he, in all mystical power, decreed that all Goddess' were to give birth to his children, to be deemed the Ancients.
The Ancients were to be powerful souls, capable of all kinds of magical things and were to serve their rightful Goddess. Many of the Goddess' gave use of their children to the Gods who did not have a partner, to help them with their cause.
Kalista, the Lunar Goddess, was approached by the King of the Gods one afternoon.
"What do you choose to call your paradise..?" He asked her, his voice the low majestic growl of a lion.
She looked at him and smiled. "Silver Lune Valley. My people will prosper, and they will be a great community, and through all hardships they will band together."
The King of the Gods was impressed. The other Deities wanted large cities, with monuments in their honour, and large structures that would surely fail the test of time.
But Kalista, she was pure. Her intentions were good.
The King of the Gods placed a hand on her stomach, looked at her and smiled.
"It is done. Silver Lune Valley will be happy to serve you, Kalista, along with your ten Ancients."
Kalista smiled, and then collapsed on the ground, dust and sparks rising around her.
Kalista opened her eyes. She was doused in sweat and she appeared to be by a lake. She smiled and sat up. In ten floating bassinets were ten babies. All with a golden ring around their forehead, and a golden cloth surrounding them.
She stood up slowly. She could hear a gushing waterfall. All around her she could see beauty and splendor.All the trees bore fruit and their were small animals running around. Her babies all smiled.
She knew what had happened. Her dream paradise had been created in the few small moments of her childbirth, each child lending its power to the creation.
Years pass and the children have grown. Kalista walks up to one of them one day, the one she calls Life, based on his power to create life.
"Honey," She said in her musical voice, "It is time for us to thrive and fill our fair valley with people. What do you say."
In a deep voice the child spoke "Yes mother. It shall be done."
He arose from the ground, his golden cloth wings spreading. He rose into the air. His markings glowed, his pure white skin shining in the sunlight.
All of a sudden a white fog swept the land.
In the village people materialized from the fog.
The white fog was what the Life Ancients like to call soul dust. In it is contained personality, memory, experience, and physicality.
Back up at the lake, Life floated back down to the ground.
He needed at his mother, then headed towards the waterfall, followed by the other nine ancients, where they lived, watching over the townsfolk of Silver Lune Valley.
