Fallen Leaves Village
The small village of Fallen Leaves. Outside any building, this is where people can meet and greet each other.

The air is clear and crisp, the scent of seasonal plants filtering throughout the breeze. Small, aging buildings are scattered about the landscape, and silence dominates the scene.

A festival has begun, and a banner hangs down from two juxtaposed buildings, titled "Goddess Festival". Local residents are setting up booths to both advertise their business, and acquaint themselves with the newcomers of the year. People are free to stroll around and enjoy the festivities.

Ben ran up to the plot of land where the Goddess Festival was being held. A towel rested on his shoulders, he wiped a bead of sweat away from his forehead. "Heheh...Summer is almost here." he said quietly to himself.

Ben surveyed the area hoping he would see somebody that he recognized, no luck. He decided to just stroll around and look at everything, maybe even meet a new villager.

"Boo!"

The blonde girl giggled as she grabbed Ben's shoulders, quietly huffing on behalf of the beaming sun and summer heat. Clad in a short white skirt and a pink tank top, she was definitely ready for summer.

"Enjoying the summer heat?" asked Misa, grinning widely. She had looked forward to the event of the Goddess Festival, having been busy since. "Do they sell ice cream around here? I'm torched. And where's Garet?" She asked, leading up to the inevitable question she's been pondering for an excessive amount of time.

"GACK!"

Ben flinched as someone latched onto his shoulders. His expression quickly changed as he turned around. "MISA!" he yelled as he gave her a hug.

He chuckled, "Yeah, summer is amazing. Perfect time of the year, in my opinion at least." A smile appeared on his face.

"Ice Cream? Hmm....Maybe, why don't we look around to see if we can find some." He gave her a warm smile.

A question struck his ears as soon as they began to walk. "Garet? Um, he should be here in a little bit. I left a little early to run for a bit. I told him I would catch up with him at the festival." Ben wiped another bead of sweat from his face. "But you know how he is with the bar, everything HAS to be clean. It's his pride and joy." A soft laughter escaped from his mouth.

[*falls out of the sky to post a couple of times, even though feeling like diiirt~* Nobody's posted in an hour, but I'll see how things go. X3]

Dragging an old, ragged folding table up what appeared to be a mountain of a mole hill, Kathryn puffed to herself about the obnoxious heat.

"...I really hate nice weather..."

Detaching the legs from the underside of the table, she stood it up on its feet, brushing the grass from atop it. Then, tossing a pale purple tablecloth overtop of its surface, she left the table to sit by itself as she trudged again to the bottom of the hill to retrieve a basket of sweets and a box full of her used books.

Tristan met her halfway up the hill, the basket of sweets hooked over his left shoulder, hefting the book box in his arms.

"But nice weather loooooooves you." He grinned, repositioning and handing her the basket while attempting not to drop the box.

Kat stared back at him, loosely gripping the handle of the basket.

"...Quite."

She mock-kicked him as he passed her, clomping up the hill towards the table.

"What's going on here?" Matt asked himself. He was new to the village, been here for about two weeks. He let his curiosity pass as he wandered on the outskirts of the festival.

He found a nice patch of grass to lie down in. He set his backpack down beside him, an old worn out backpack, held together by duct tape, safety pins, and paperclips. That backpack has been with him for as long as he could remember, he opened it up and pulled a book out; he began reading it as he laid back on the nice soft grass.

Misa chortled as she subconsciously grinned at the thought of seeing him again. "I think there's some at the General Store, I don't
know what's at a general store if there's no ice cream."

She nodded in agreement. "If anyone, Garet would be one to feel obligated to stay behind to /clean/. You should be helping him, you slacker, which way to the store again?" She unsuccessfully fanned herself with her hand, and longed for her sunhat. "That place better have air conditioning, or I'm going to fry like an egg," she looked at her arm. "Well, I hope I'll be more brown than an egg," she added as an afterthought, enjoying the idea of a tan.

Misa stopped to feel for a shoulder strap. "Aw, I forgot my messenger bag." She kicked a nearby pebble out of disappointment. "I'll pay you back if you can spare a few dollars for the ice cream?"

Ben gave Misa a childish grin at the, "slacker" comment. "Garet does fine on his own. Besides I just get in the way most of the time."

Ben felt the pockets of his gray basketball shorts. "Yeah I have a little bit on me." he said handing Misa the money. "You don't have to pay me back, it's fine." Ben said warmly.

The twins arrived at the flat, broad expanse of grass. The sun was high in the sky, and a warm feeling was emanating from the entire scene. Scattered around the land were various people from the village, none of which the twins had recognized. They had few acquaintances, and those few hadn't showed up yet.

Czarina let out a big stretch, letting out a sound of content. She opened her eyes nice and big to take in the surroundings. "Time to partaaay!" She said, though it was evident that she had no real clue what was going on. She casually walked down the hill, prepared to meet some new people.

Zaylin grinned shyly, replying with a: "It's not a party, Czar...it's a festival. And any--hey, wait! Wait up for me!" He said, realizing that his twin had gone on ahead.

Czarina looked around. She waited for her brother to catch up with her, and then continued walking. "I dunno about you, but I intend to talk to people. I know how shy you are, so maybe you should talk to some people who are just as shy?" Quite frankly, she was trying to get rid of the guy. She loved him and all, but sometimes first meetings weren't so good with him. It was much better to have him around when she had already met some people and were introducing them to him.

She looked around some more, and spotting a person reading a book on the outskirts of the festivities. She pointed blatantly in the general direction, and ushered Zaylin, "Over there, bro. He's reading, should make a pretty good friend of yours if you ask me, Zay." She stuck her tongue out playfully as she pushed him towards the other boy, who was still a pretty good walking distance away.

"W-What?!" Was Zaylin's response. He nearly tripped when Czarina pushed him, nearly toppling other people as well. Promptly apologizing to the people he had been knocked into, he looked around for his sister. To his dismay, she had already disappeared. "C-Czar?! Oh no..." He said, looking back to the other boy Czar had previously pointed out. Letting out a sigh, Zaylin walked over, thinking that it may have been worth a shot.

"Yo!" Czarina called towards two people she had seen having some friendly chatter. The boy had black hair and the girl was blond. "Hey, how you guys liking the festival so far?" She asked, giving a wide grin to both.

Having walked across the large expanse of grass, Zaylin finally was a few yards away from the other boy. He was about to open his mouth to say something, but poor Zay was too shy again. He noticed the other boy with black hair and goggles had indeed been reading something, and bent over a little to try to get a look at what book it was. It was not his intention, but he was definitely making a scene out of doing it--he looked like an idiot.

Ben turned around to a new face. "Well, hello there!" he said warmly to the new girl. "Yes we are enjoying it." he chuckled, "Anyway, I'm Ben and this is Misa. Nice to meet you!"

Ben tugged on the towel around his shoulders. He stretched and yawned quietly, he was running all morning so he was kinda beat. "When did you arrive in the village?" he asked, trying to spark a conversation.

Matt was laying on his stomach reading a book when he felt a presence nearby. He nonchalantly looked to see who was hovering over him, it was a boy who seemed to be about his age. The boy was obviously trying to see what he was reading, "Apprentice of the Gun," he said without breaking his view from the book, "I'm guessing that's what you wanted to know."

Matt slowly closed the book and sat up to be in a more comfortable position when the conversation between the two started.

Czarina smiled, now these people looked like they knew how to have some fun. "Nice to meet you guys, too! I'm Czarina." She tipped her hat a bit jokingly. "Well, not too long to be honest. We got here a couple of weeks ago, but we planned on moving here since last year." She said after giving a few moments' thought. "How about you guys? How long have you been here?"

At the other boy's comment, Zaylin nearly jumped out of his skin. "O-oh...that sounds interesting. I've never heard of it...what's it about...?" He asked warily. On the inside, he was glowing. He had finally brought out the courage to talk to someone without Czarina around! A grin showed on his face.

Ben chuckled at the girl when she tipped her hat, she seemed.....enjoyable, full of life. He smiled at her question, "Since just about the beginning." Ben sighed as he was reminded of Jack and Cindy. "I have seen this village go from a happy, energetic place. To a cold, lifeless hell-hole. And back to how you see it now."

Ben tugged on his basketball shorts, they were a little big. He pulled on the string to tighten them a bit.

'This kid seems alright' Matt thought to himself. "The book is about a small town kid who is abducted by an old western style gang. The boy begins to learn the mannerisms of the gang, and slowly starts to become one of them. The gang starts to see the change in him, and begin to train him in the ways of the gang." He smiled at the boy.

"I'm Yamato Ishida, but you can call me Matt." he stood up and extended his hand out to the boy.
