Quincy Overview
For many generations, the human’s that possess high density reiatsu have been the prey of the hollows of Hueco Mundo. These humans fell to these spiritual beasts and their only source of comfort is the protection given to them by the Shinigami of Soul Society. But when these shinigami are not present the live in fear, clinging unto life so desperately.
Sick of the shortcomings of the Shinigami, these men and women began to hone their skills and channelled their energy to create a new breed of humans, The Quincy.
In order to protect themselves from the dangers that lurk in the shadows, these Quincy devised a way to protect themselves and even protect those around them. By making use of their energy they gather from their surroundings and convert it to a destructive force to fend off their attackers. And thus, the roles have changed and the prey is now the predator.
These Quincy developed a talisman called the mekkyaku jūji (滅却十字, Quincy Cross). This talisman is used to channel energy from the surroundings to create a bow from pure reishi. This bow, unlike normal ones, have the ability to make use of the surroundings and create arrows of pure energy. With these bows, the Quincy became a force to be reckoned much to the dislike of those in Soul Society.
Though the power that the Quincy possess is great and rivals that of shinigami, there is one factor that differentiates them from each other. That is the ability to purify souls. Shinigami make use of a zanpakutou a soul slayer, that purify souls and cleanses them before sending them back to Soul Society. But in the Quincy’s case they destroy the soul that they hit, causing a disruption in the balance of souls in the world.
Now, there are only a few left in existence. During the great war between the shinigami and the hollows, the Quincies suffered a major blow when they suffered huge losses in a campaign. Now, only a few Quincy remain and the few stemming from the noble houses, hide from the watchful eyes of the world. But now, a new threat has emerged and the Quincy will reveal themselves to all once more.

Statistics
Reiatsu (Spiritual Pressure)
Much like when used in shinigami terms, reiatsu gauges the strength of the spiritual energy that the person has.
Ryoku (Archery)
Ryoku is the skill that relates to how strong the Quincy's attacks can be. Each time a quincy fires his bow, the arrow it shoots is valued at 1/5 of his total Ryoku. Also, this stat relates as to how many arrows can be fired per usage.
Seido (Accuracy)
The Seido stat determines how far the quincy can fire his shots accurately. Though this may relate to the range of the bow, it can also be used to the usage of the Seele Schneider, for close combat purposes.
Hakaido (Way of Destruction)
Hakadou is often compared to the shinigami skill, Kidou. Though Quincy’s rarely use such spells, this determines the effectiveness of the attack they cast. The Silver tubes that are used to cast spells contains a fraction of the power of Hakaido. The power of each silver tube is divided as such:
Sokudo (Speed)
Sokudo determines how fast the Quincy can move. This is also the gauge as to how fast a Quincy can use Hirenkyaku.
Heikou (Equilibrium)
Although this may seem the same as the connection level of the shinigami bonds with their zanpaktou, this works different. Quincy make use of the energy of their surroundings and use it as their own. This stat channels the energy and gauges as to how much energy can be converted to their own. The higher the Heikou grows the closer the Quincy get to using the Letz Stile (Final Form) without a risk of losing their Quincy powers. in short, it is how well a Quincy bonds with their surroundings just as a shinigami bonds with their zanpaktou spirit.

Quincy Forms
To measure up to the demands of battle, the Quincy have developed these ‘forms’ to counter the zanpakutou releases of the shinigami and the resureccion ability of the arrancar. By using these forms, a Quincy gains a sudden increase in power and with all of their natural senses heightened. Though these forms able them to fight on par with their other rivals, there are huge drawbacks when using them which could result in the loss of one’s Quincy power.
Overdrive
Overdrive is the first known form of the Quincy which enables them to force their bows to accumulate more reishi from the surroundings to boost the reiatsu of the bearer. By gathering more reishi, the bow is able to take on a more power increasing its efficiency and almost doubling the output of power.
When Quincies go into overdrive form, not only does their power increase but they gain various abilities too. By using the energy around them, they can create different effects with their arrows or even increase their fighting skills.
Letz Stile (Final Form)
When the Quincy reaches a certain level of power, he is able to transform himself and create an armor and a weapon to aide him in battle. This transformation helps increase the intake of loose particles in their surroundings and converts then into the Quincy’s own energy boosting his power tremendously. This form is known as the ‘Letz Stile’ or the Final Form.
The Letz Stile is the ultimate/final form of the Quincy that can match up evenly even against a Captain-level shinigami in Bankai. This sudden surge in power forces the user’s body to break its extreme limits to gain a higher power that only a few Quincy have managed to attain. Though this form symbolizes the pinnacle of a Quincy’s power, it is advised that it be used only in dire and life threatening circumstances because of the repercussions it has on the user’s body that may result in the loss of one’s Quincy Power.
The biggest consequence of overusing the Letz Stile is the loss of one’s Quincy powers. There is a certain duration as to where the Letz Stile is manageable and can be controlled. But when it draws closer to the limit, the risk of losing his/her powers becomes greater. But even if one decides to dispel the Letz Stile midway through their powers will enter a state of lockdown and wouldn’t be able to use them for the whole duration of the week.
When a Quincy loses their powers in battle, they must approach a head of a house so they could undergo the process of regaining their powers. Although this is possible, a Quincy is only able to regain their powers for a maximum of five (5) times. After which they lose their powers indefinitely.
Initial Level
The Initial Level of Letz Stile is often referred to as a stronger version of the Overdrive Form of the Quincy. Though this is correct, there is a huge difference in power gained as well as a difference in the form. The Quincy who uses the initial level of Letz Stile is able to gain access to the Quincy Armour but the intake and conversion of reishi is still low.
The Initial Level of the Letz Stile gives the Quincy a 40% boost in their reiatsu.
[Requirements: One must be at least a Seasoned Quincy]
Intermediate Level
At the Intermediate Stage, the Letz Stile undergoes a massive boost in power giving the Quincy a 70% boost in reiatsu when in full power. This stage is one of the hardest to attain and master that most Quincy resort to using the Sanrei Shuto to achieve the Master level of the Letz Stile.
[Requirements: One must be at least Assistant Head Quincy level]
Master Level
The Master Level of the Letz Stile is proof that a Quincy had reached the pinnacle of their power. They are able to fully convert the energy they draw from their surroundings and make it as their own. There are only a few Quincy able to make use of this form and it is rather rare for one to use it during battle. A Quincy at this level is said to be able to fight on par against a captain level shinigami and the strongest of Arrancars. They are both feared and respected by their enemies and peers alike for their battle prowess.
The Master Level Letz Stile enables the Quincy to break the laws of physics granting them overall control over their surroundings. They can sew together reishi from their surroundings and use them as platforms to hover above the ground. In the Human World they can stay a maximum of 2 posts in the air before gravity pulls them back to the ground. However, if the location have a high concentration of reishi (In Soul Society and Hueco Munco), then they are able to stay in flight for a maximum of 5 posts.
[Requirements: One must be at least Head Quincy]

Quincy Items
Mekkyaku juji (Quincy Cross)
The Mekkyaku Juji is a standard issue item that all Quincy possess. This talisman is used to channel energy from the surroundings and create a bow from pure reishi. There are two types of Mekkyaku Juji’s in existence.
The Cross – Used by low level Quincies and Apprentices The Five Point Pentacle – A true mark of a Quincy, mostly used by high level Quincies and head of houses
A five point Mekkyaku Juji is given a name by their Quincy master, much like Ishida Uryuu’s Ginrei Kojaku.
Each Quincy is given the Cross type Mekkyaku Juji but once they receive the right training, the Pentacle is then obtained.
Sanrei Shuto (Sanrei Glove)
The sanrei glove is a powerful Quincy artifact that can increase a Quincy's power exponentially, but requires difficult and dangerous training (wearing it for a week while constantly firing spiritual arrows) to master. The glove works by scattering the spirit particles in the surrounding area. If a Quincy can summon a bow and hold it for the required amount of time, they will experience a massive increase in power.
The bow that the Sanrei Shuto summons is automatically in Overdrive mode and when the glove is broken off, the Quincy can use the highest level of the Letz Stile – The Master level. The only difference is that the glove will not allow the bow to enter its spirit form and stay materialised until sealed back into the glove.
Then the glove is being worn, the Quincy is not able to use any of the Mekkyaku Juji because it channels all the energy of the user into the glove.
Seele Schneider (Kon o kirisaku mono)
The Zeele Schneider is a portable arrow that doubles as a sword in melee combat. It's much longer than a standard arrow and functions something like a chainsaw: the spirit particles of its blade vibrate at ultra-high frequencies, loosening the molecular bonds between any spirit matter it cuts so that the Quincy user may easily absorb the freed spirit particles.
Requirements: Requires approval from the head Quincy
Hollow Bait
This item is a small coin-shaped disk that attracts hollows when crushed. Though the amount of hollows attracted vary, it is advised that this item be used with extreme caution.
Requirements: None
Soushingu (Quincy Bangle)
The Quincy Bangle is an artifact designed to mimic a Quincy's natural powers. It works by drawing in spirit particles from the environment, much like a Quincy does regularly. It can only be used properly by those who are already adept at forming and directing spirit particles. When activated, it forms a metal bow on the user's hand and gives them an appropriate Quincy outfit to match. The bangle is an unstable and delicate device, which eventually falls apart with extended use. The bow it creates has a huge drawback in that spirit particles must be gathered and charged to be of any use; doing otherwise greatly weakens the power of the resultant projectiles. The arrows also seem to fire erratically, sometimes curving away from their intended target. Furthermore, if shot at the time when the device is at its maximum power, it could explode, killing the user and destroying anything else nearby.
Requirements: None
Gintou Silver tubes
Gintou are small liquid-filled capsules that are able to contain energy of the user. Though they are useless on their own, once they are used by a Quincy they can create an effect much like how Shinigami kidou work. Also, when using a Gintou, the Quincy must chant the incantation for the spell to take shape.
There is a set amount as to how much Gintou a Quincy can carry at one time. A quincy can carry a maximum of 20 tubes at once.

Quincy Techniques
The Quincy have been known for their skill in battle, displaying a huge array of abilities that can even rival that of the shinigami. Each Quincy has fifteen (15) technique allocation slots.
HirenKyaku (Flying Screen Step)
Analogous to the shinigami flash steps or the arrancar sonido, the Quincy hirenkyaku allows the user to move quickly over short distances. To perform the technique, the user gathers spiritual particles under their feet and rides them to the desired location. Like the air-walking skill displayed by most arrancar and shinigami, it can also be used to hover or fly for long distances.
Ransotengai (Heavenly Wild Puppet Suit)
Ransotengai is a high level technique that allows the user to control their body parts using strings of spirit energy controlled by their brain. By using this technique, the user can control their body as one would a puppet, allowing them to move freely despite paralysis, broken limbs, or any other force that would impede normal movement. It was originally created to allow old Quincy to fight effectively, but it was said that some high level Quincy have been using this to aid them in combat even when heavily injured. However their is still a limit on how far the body can go before it is completely incapacitated.
Requirements: None
Reiraku Takan (Spiritual Thread, Deep Perception)
A special sensory skill reserved only for Quincy whose capabilities have matured markedly. Reiraku Takan allows the Quincy to deeply focus upon the spiritual signatures of all surrounding entities within a certain area and manually compress them all into different-colored "threads." The maximum range of this ability is the same as the Shinigami's highest Reiatsu Noukan range. Colors are as follows:
White : Normal soul, Plus soul, Quincy Red : Shinigami Black : Hollow Dark Red : Arrancar, Vizard
Geigeki Interception
A special skill of the Quincy where they use themselves as bait before striking hard on the opponent. A ranged attackers biggest weakness is when the battle is brought to them. To counter this the Quincy have developed the Geigeki. Using the principles of Hirenkyaku, the Quincy is able to dodge the attack that is thrown at him right before it hits and move himself away from the target, where he fires off an arrow that is valued 1.5 times its normal strength.

Silver Method Destruction
By using Gintou, The Quincy are able to fire of energy based attacks other than the arrows from their bows. These attacks are known as the Silver Method Destruction. Using the energy pent up in the small flasks they create an effective attack that doesn’t drain on their reiatsu. The potency of each spell varies depending on how strong the Gintou tube is and how many has been used at the time of the casting.
• Gegenstrom ( Reversed Flow )
By countering air as it flows toward the user, a Quincy can expel a sharp gust of wind to the north, east, or west of itself. If thrown back at an enemy the momentum of their own attack adds to Gegenstrom's for a knock-back effect
Incantation: Counter reality, o shattered dreams – Uranagare Henshou!
• Gritz
A binding technique that creates a human sized pentacle that envelops the target and crushes it to death. This spell restricts the movement of all the main limbs of the target.
Incantation: “A silver rod strikes the five fingered stone bed, Quintuple Restraining Frames!”
• Himmel (Sky)
Throwing gintou to the ground, the user is engulfed by the energy of the tubes. As the energy dissipates, the quincy has wings of energy that allow him/her to fly for short distances at normal land speed and Hirenkyaku burst speed. Himmel lasts for only two rounds.(two rounds meaning two turns by the user in a 2 person collab)
Incantation: A white feather floats above, is it an omen or a blessing? Soar!
• Heizen ( Heat )
Heizen is a Gintou technique that creates a transparent rectangular beam of energy that can slice through an opponent.
Incantation: “Feel the wrath of battle and accept this sacred chalice. Sacred Bite!”
• Hochofen (Blast)
By throwing the gintou towards the target, the user is ale to create a burst of flames that engulfs it and incinerates anything that it touches.
Incantation: A Lion’s roar echoes through the mountains, instilling fear to those who can hear. Disappear!
Leere ( Void )
Extends around a physical or spiritual pressure, tightening to try and crush the object or energy source with a fierce gravity field. Ineffective against attacks valued higher than user's Ginkaihou stat; if valued higher, the attack reverses and explodes back out.
Incantation: Maw of the accursed, squelch existence - Mu! (Leere)
• Regen der Pfeile (Rain of Arrows)
By breaking a Gintou in his hand and firing an arrow up towards the sky. A Quincy is able to create a shower of arrows that can pierce anything that is on the ground. Once the fired arrow reaches its summit, it breaks down into a hundred spirit arrows that shoot down to the ground.
Incantation: Heaven’s wrath descends upon us, cleansing the earth of its impurities. Purify!
Requirements: Leader of Quincy
• Sprenger (Explosion)
This technique uses five Seele Schneiders to create a pentagram-shaped seal, which when activated causes a massive explosion within its borders. The Seele Schneiders function as accumulators, gathering the necessary amount of spirit particles to create the explosion. The liquid inside the Gintou acts as the trigger. The preparations for the technique combined with the charging time for the Seele Schneiders make its use in battle impractical unless the user has a partner that can stall to buy time.
Requirements: Head Quincy and (5) Zeele Schneiders.
• Volcore (Cloud)
By using Volcore, the user is able to create a large short distance blast that able to incinerate everything in its area of effect.
Incantation: Tilt the goblet to the west, Emerald Grail!”

Shisei- The Four Great Houses
For a long time, Quincies have been known as the fearsome spirit bow wielders of the human world. They resided in the shadows, hidden from the world, they cultivated their powers and reached greater heights which brought forth the advent of the different houses (styles) of fighting that the Quincy of today use.
At one point all of these houses are based in a single location but eventually the masters of the style moved away to other countries and the teachings spread to other Quincy clans. Although the teachings had spread throughout the world, all those who fall under them still answer to the Quincy high council located in Kyoto, Japan. These four houses of the Quincy became to be known as the ‘Shisei’ or the four great houses of the age.
The teachings of the houses have been spread through to generations of families, each of the skills passed down from one member to another. Each of these heads of the families are required to register if a new Quincy is being trained or has been appointed as a master of the style. And everyone once in a while all masters of the said style are to gather in front of the Quincy high council, where they could be chosen as one of the Shogun.
House of the Shinmei – God’s cry
House of the Butsuku – Buddha’s Roar
House of the Shinken – Divine Sword
House of Onmyou – Dual Cosmic Forces
The Shinmei are known as one of the fiercest houses of the Quincy, working as bounty hunters as well as hunters for the Shisei that are spread throughout the world. They are well rounded when it comes to battle skills, being able to manipulate all major styles of fighting that the Quincy use. Though their skills are well balanced, they rely more on power more than anything else.
The Butsuku is actually a house that broke off from the Shinmei’s line of thinking. They are more passive but their skills can be matched up to the other members of the Shisei. The Quincy of the Butsuku, live their lives in secrecy only revealing themselves when they are needed. They are regarded to be the top class when it comes to bowmanship, and focus more on precision rather than power.
The Shinken is the house that most intellectual Quincy fall under. They research methods of using the reishi and spiritons in our surroundings and use them for combat. Rarely do they rely on their bows but it is said that they are just as good as the rest. These men and women enjoy using unorthodox techniques whilst in fighting and would sacrifice everything just to prove their methods to the other houses.
The Onmyou Quincy are best describe as the spell casters. This caste specialises in research and usage of Gintou in battle. They have access to the highest levels of the Gintou spells whose power rival that of hollow’s ceros and the Eishouhaki of the Shinigami. The Onmyou also are very adept in tying reishi together and using them to increase the potency of their spells. There are conflicting mindsets about the Onmyou, some regard them as the weakest of the Shisei but some think that they’re the most destructive.
These four houses are the styles of fighting that had spread out throughout the world during the olden days. Different versions of the four main styles of fighting have emerged all over the world but they all share the common goal of these styles.
