Job search = fail.
scream I am trying. Everyday. But not having a job is really starting to get to me. I'm sick of being broke. I'm sick of never having any money. I hate how I can't ever do anything for my friends and family. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. My friends keep getting hired at places left and right. Even at some of the same places I apply to. I can't even get an interview. And then if my friends lose/leave their job, they can always find another one, like it's not even that big of a deal!! I don't get it!! It's like:
MONDAY:Friend: Dude, I got fired from my job at KMart.
Me: Ouch, man. That sucks.
sad SATURDAY:Me: So how goes the job search?
confused Friend: Dude, I just got hired at Vons! I turned in an app, and they called me the next day. We did the interview, and I was hired on the spot!"
biggrin Me: WTF, I applied there two weeks ago!!
scream I WISH I was making this up.
It doesn't really help either that I have a car and a license, but no insurance to drive it. Duh, no money. My parents barely even saved money for me either. When I turned 18, I had $237 dollars in my bank account, and all of that went straight to school. I literally have only 5 dollars to my name right now, and I just can't take it anymore. Plus I owe my parents mucho money because they help me out once in a while, but the debt just keeps going up and up.
Oi, I kinda ranted there, sorry..but wtf do I do??
gonk I've honestly tried everything in my area, and there's simply nothing. My family keeps riding my butt about it, but they just don't seem to get that the unemployment rate is the highest it's ever been. I keep telling them that,
YES, I
DO want a job, but there simply is no job to get right now.
Sometimes I wonder if it's just me. A week or two ago, I saw a job posting online for a Jack-In-The-Box that had three position open. I called the manager to inquire about it, and she told me to come on down, fill out an app, and then she'd interview me on the spot. I talk the hour long bus/trolley ride there only for her to tell me that they don't have any applications for me to fill out, and that she wasn't giving me an interview because there was no app for me to fill out.
Lame.
Many times, I also see places where it simply doesn't make sense to not hire someone. At a store by my house, I've been checking for openings so much for the past year, that they all know me by name now...and they still won't hire me. They always tell me that they're full-staffed, or over-staffed, or something like that, but whenever I go in there, I never see more than one or two guys running the store. I even know that one of them works only one day a week, and that he also has a job on the military base. Wtf?
I've tried everything. What is it I'm doing wrong. All I want is a job. Is that too much to ask?
