Plot
Kain Tonderu was born with a very weak heart. The moment he was born the doctor said that he wasn't going to live very long. A day or two at the most, but twenty-six years later, Kain was alive. Well at least on the outside. He is unable to stress his heart or have high volts of adrenaline. That means that having sex or getting close to another is dangerous to his health. Kain pretty much has given up on finding a lover, but he still maintains his happy and kind nature. There is a bright side to the side, but at a cost. The man could go under the knife to get a newer better heart, but the risk is great. There isn't a high chance that he'll survive. Will someone be able to help Kain through his rough times? Show the man hope and love in the world?

Kain
Name: Kain Tonderu Age: 26 Sexuality[bi/gay/closet homo]: Closet Homosexual Personality: He is a very kind and gentle person. Though he is afraid of death and hates how life has been so cruel to him. He desires to meet someone that he wants to spend the rest of his life with, but is afraid that once the person finds out his problem and sees the scars from his previous operations that they'll run away so Kain keeps to himself mostly. History: Being born with a weak heart, Kain somehow survived to adulthood. He has been quite a few surgeries to just keep him alive and keep his heart beating. Kain now teaches high school literature and keeps to himself. He is too afraid to have the surgery to get his heart fixed. How do you see life? It sucks. Life is a sick game that is played by creatures that humans don't know about. There is no light at the end of the tunnel.
Kyle Name: Kyle Taylor Age: 36 Sexuality: Pansexual, leaning toward gay.
Personality: It does not take too much to keep Kyle happy. Even if he were bankrupt he would be able to find something good in his situation. This isn't to say that he is perfectly content living in poverty. Kyle wants to improve his condition, just like anyone else, but he trusts that things will get better in time, and does not worry about improving quickly.
History: Kyle was raised in the foster system after his single mother died in a car accident. He never had much, and learned to make due with what he had. He learned to find the good in even bad situations. He picked up art because it was an inexpensive hobby, one that could be done with the supplies given to him for school. The hobby stuck and became a passion as he grew up.
Unable to afford a proper college education, Kyle has only a junior college art degree under his belt. But he does the best he can with that degree, working at a small art gallery while trying to get his own artistic career off the ground.
How do you see life? Do what you can with it. As long as you're happy all you're goals are fulfilled.

What's The Point of Living? Sighing softly, he leaned back against the white board. His green eyes stared out at the students sitting in his class. A quick glance at the clock made him smile. "All right class. Have a good weekend and remember to read chapters 20 through 27 about Hamlet." Kain wrote up the homework on the board as students packed up their belongings. Once everyone left, he moved to his desk and grabbed his medication. Popping two pills into his mouth, he swallowed them dry. Kain would have used water, but unfortunately, he didn't have any with him at the moment.
Touching his stomach, the teacher smiled. "Yes... yes... time to get food." He hadn't been eating very much in the past couple of weeks. He locked up his room then wandered down the hallway reading over his notes for the test that was planned for Tuesday.

Kyle stretched his arms up over his head as he rose from his chair at the front desk. It had been a slow day. But most week days were, at least this time of the year. "Hey, Charlie, I'm going to get some lunch, do you want anything?" the man called back into the depths of the art gallery. With no customers inside it did not matter if he behaved improperly. Receiving no reply from the back room, Kyle peeked down the hallway. The office door was closed, which meant his boss was probably working on something. Best not to disturb him. It would take only fifteen minutes to walk to the market on the corner and get a couple of sandwiches. Hopefully no one would notice his absence during that time. Without bothering to leave a note about his absence, the man left the small art gallery and hurried down the street. The market was only a block away, but with his luck it would be crowded. It always was when he was in a hurry. Normally he would not have left the gallery unattended like that, but it was well past his usual lunch hour and Charlie had been holed up in the back room all day doing God knows what. Kyle was hungry, and the gallery could survive without him for a few minutes.

What's The Point of Living? The teacher walked outside and looked up at the bright blue sky. Today was a beautiful day, but he really didn't seem happy about it. Sighing some, he tilted his head down and walked on the path toward the market. It was just a block away and served pretty good sandwiches. That was what Kain wanted, a turkey sandwich. He looked at his car and silently shook his head. Why bother driving? It wasn't very far away and it was nice out.
Minutes later, Kain arrived at the market. He looked around not seeing any familiar faces not that Kain really knew anyone. He moved to the back of the line and looked up at the large selection of sandwiches that was on a black board. He wanted a turket sandwich, but there was about ten different types of turkey sandwiches. Kain was somewhat glad the line was long so he could have more time deciding on what he wanted. If There is No One to Share it With?

Kyle, on the other hand, was less pleased that the line was long. He came here quite often, as it was the closest to the gallery and relatively inexpensive. He did not need to think about what to order for his boss and himself. The man sighed as he saw the line and put himself at the end of it. This was going to take longer than he had expected. Looking over at the refrigerated cases he contemplated getting something premade. But Charlie didn't like premade things. And Charlie wouldn't like it if Kyle came back without lunch for both of them, either. But his boss also would not be happy if someone came into the gallery and Kyle wasn't there. There was just no winning in this situation unless Kyle went without lunch. And an embarrassing rumble from his stomach told the man that going without was not going to be an option, either. Well, hopefully all the people in front of him and the one making the sandwiches would be quick about it.

What's The Point of Living? When it was finally Kain's turn, he smiled at the lady behind the counter. "Hello... could I get a uhh..." He glanced up at the sign again to remember exactly what it was called. "A cuban turkey club?" He asked softly. His chest twitched some making him lean into the counter. Once he was finished Kain would need to take his medication. "That will be six dollars even sir..." The lady said. Kain nodded and looked in his wallet only finding a five. He bit his lower lip. He felt embarrassed not having enough money. Kain brushed the dark hair out of his eyes. "I'm so sorry.. I thought I had enough, but I don't so I guess I can't get it." He sighed softly looking through his wallet once again seeing if he had enough change to purchase his meal.

Kyle groaned softly and raked a hand through his hair as he heard the words of the man who stood before him in line. This was going to take forever, he knew that from experience. The staff here almost always refused to let someone go without paying, even if it meant their buying something else just to fill the minimum amount to use a credit card. He did not have time for this. He had already been standing in line for at least ten minutes. Whipping out his wallet, Karl riffled through it and pulled out a one dollar bill. One dollar wasn't much, he told himself, he would not regret giving it, especially if it saved him his job. "Here," Kyle said, reaching around the man in front of him to hand the bill to the cashier.

What's The Point of Living? He turned his head toward the male behind him, who helped him. He blushed faintly and muttered a thank you. He was really embarrassed now having a complete stranger pay for part of his meal. "I owe you, sir." He said softly as his sandwich was being made. He stepped to the side allowing the other to order.
"What can I get you, sir?" The lady asked softly. Kain decided that it was best not to look at the man, who helped him. It would only increase his embarrassment and put a strain on his weak heart.

"Don't mention it," Kyle replied to the other man as he stepped up to the counter. Now what was it he had wanted again? "Can I get a French dip, and a Mediterranean chicken?" he asked the woman behind the counter, who quickly got to work on the two sandwiches. As she did so, he glanced over at the other man. His order was done, wasn't it? So why was he hanging around? "You don't have to pay me back, or anything," Kyle assured the stranger. "It's just that I'm in a bit of a hurry today, and I know this place doesn't like to let people go without paying." He didn't have the time to wait for the other man to run to an ATM to grab some more cash just to buy a sandwich.

What's The Point of Living? His order arrived in the bag. He smiled at the lady then took one last glance at the other. "Maybe if we meet again... I'll pay you back." Kain said before walking out of the store. He bit his lower lip. Why did he always do that? He failed at flirting and what was the point? He could never be with anyone. Once they knew about his condition and seen the large scar that was on his chest, they booked it. Plus, even if they did stay, Kain couldn't do much of anything sexual. Sure he could blow the other or kiss the other, but the other couldn't touch him. His body was very sensitive and the adrenaline would kill him.
Life just suddenly seemed to loose it's meaning. It always did when he thought about his condition or was some what interested in another. He sighed holding his back in his hand weakly until it dropped. He touched his chest gritting his teeth. Kain needed his medication. He was an idiot for not taking enough and not bringing it with him. The teacher fell to his knees and closed his eyes. Would today be the day that he finally died?

Kyle shrugged at that comment and barely paid the other man any attention when he turned to leave. There was no commotion when the man fell, and so Kyle did not notice that anything was wrong until after he had paid for both of his sandwiches and turned around to leave. It was then that he noticed the other man on the ground. "Hey, are you alright?" Kyle asked in concern, crossing the few feet between them quickly. People did not normally collapse like this. And why wasn't anyone else paying attention to him? "Are you hurt?" he queried, kneeling down beside the other man to get a closer look at him. The stranger's face was pale, he noticed. "Should I call an ambulance, or something?" Of course, Kyle did not own a cell phone. Even if he had it probably would not have been with him at the moment.

What's The Point of Living? He heard someone talk to him. Tilting his head up, he saw the man from before. Kain closed his eyes and shook his head. "N-No.. I just need to get back to my classroom at the college." He said in an almost whispered voice as he attempted to rise up only to fall back onto his knees. His body was stressed for some reason. He tilted his head foreword. "I just... need to rest.... and... calm down..." He panted softly as he placed a hand on his chest where he heart was.

The college? Crap. Just Kyle's luck. His conscious forbid him from just leaving the other man to fend for himself. Because it was clear that the stranger could not fend for himself. Looking at his watch, Kyle saw that he had already been gone from the gallery for more than fifteen minutes. He could not risk being absent for much longer without letting his boss know. "Do you have a cell phone?" Kyle asked, looking down at the other man again. "I can help you get back to the college, but I need to call my boss. He doesn't know I'm gone."
