UNFULFILLED PROPHECY:
___Once a prediction cast out into the young world by an Oracle, it was swept up into the storm and flung across the world. The time and circumstance for it to have ever been a truth has been long gone for centuries, but as a prophecy it remains an unacted and unavoidable event. How could the future simply not come to be?
___Looks like a crumpled fortune cookie paper - these things almost (never) never come true, darnit! Might as well get my lucky jackpot numbers.

ZARATAN:
___This is actually a fairly well-known mythical creature - I like to think. It's made several appearances in movies and television shows, but as I was searching around for obscure mythical creatures I came upon the Devil Whale which goes by one of the names Jasconius who according to legend tried to make off with a Saint, Zaratan, and Aspidochelone. I decided to go with the more interesting of the names and after googling around a bit found a description (albeit a little DnD). Whether or not Kyou adheres to the DnD concept doesn't matter to me, as the concept of the great island-turtle (instead of the whale since stories state it could be either or) is still the soul I am looking for. For those who do not wish to click, the Zaratan is a great mythical beast (sea-turtle, in this case), which has grown so enormous its shell has become like an island with soil (although limited), trees, plants, flowers and supposedly fauna. According to the description in the main Zaratan link it also has an ecosystem (possibly a reef) on its underbelly.

___When he's inside most of the time his hair, eyebrows, and goatee are a dark brown. Spending time outside tints it a strong burgundy although his eyebrows and goatee stay the same.
HAIR STYLE:
___Moderately curled, sometimes wears it cut short, has a tendency to let it get shaggy and long. Has a goatee with no moustache, sideburns depending on his shaving (why yes, he can shave although blind ... alright he may have his maid help with this), and lovely amounts of body hair.

LIKES:
___Adores hot chocolate - but refuses to drink it made with water. Always, ALWAYS use milk and whipped cream. Enjoys Ginger Ale and Root Beer occasionally. Loves virgin strawberry daiquiris, unagi, avocados, and eats rice as his standard everymeal starch (potatoes and bread are a treat for him). Enjoys tuna salad in a fresh cut papaya, thick tomato slices with pepper/salt on a toasted bagel slathered with cream cheese, vanilla soymilk with whole-grain cheerios and applebananas, hot or cold teas, char siu bao, french fries, and as a guilty pleasure - spam. Loves dairy products, and most any kind of food to be honest. He enjoys cooking and can create a few good dishes (like hot pockets), but has trouble with presentation and is better at baking either way (sara-lee microwavables).
___He likes most any kind of music, as long as it doesn't scream at him. Severely enjoys being in the water, and is a strong swimmer but because of his blindness he generally holds onto his dog's collar. Ernan doesn't know what good dancing looks like, but he likes to do it by himself. He sincerely wishes that someday he could dance with someone besides himself. Enjoys animals, fantasy/sci-fi books, listening to people talk in French (although he can't), and sleeping on beaches.
DISLIKES:
___Bell peppers, jalapenos, you name any kind of pepper besides the one you season with, he is adverse to it and it's not for lack of trying. He doesn't approve of drama, or conflict, and therefor actively avoids people who seem to exude it. Prejudices don't make sense to him, being that he doesn't see what the big skin or appearance hullabaloo is on about. Does not like frog brains or spicy/overly sour sweets. Abhors Dr. Pepper, and avoids most sodas.
PERSONALITY:
___Ernan is congenial, to put it into one word. He will go with the flow, he will try the best he can to please. He is an all-around nice guy and the greatest sweetheart you'll probably ever know. He has a great capacity for romance and being well-read tends to say just the right thing at just the perfect moment. Although he is blind, he is very in-tune with the beauty of people's auras and personalities, which appeals to him far more. He explores diligently through touch, and as such can seem very sensual when he is merely learning you.
___Ernan has a maid, being that he is a slob and he can't help it. It gets to him sometimes, because although he can somewhat keep things tidy, he can FEEL the disorder of if he puts something a little bit off. As such, he lives in an two-bedroom bungalow and with a lot of neutral tones (although he's heard from a few visitors that there's a predominance of red as well). Even if he doesn't know what the colours are, understanding that they're somewhere in the middle makes him feel better about what might get on them. Having a television doesn't make much sense to him, but his friends seem to enjoy it.
___Being that he doesn't drive, he converted his small one-car garage into a nice little sanctum for his baby grand. Although it's been proposed that he put out records seriously, he makes one every now and then and doesn't put a lot of focus into selling them. He plays for a free concert in a local park every Friday, in restaurants, and sometimes does private functions (depending on the cause). Ernan is a proud advocate of charitable organizations, and doesn't tend to spend a lot of money on himself. He's been taken advantage of a few times monetarily, and now prefers to help people in other ways besides just writing a check. He's against fur for fashion, but believes that eating meat is a natural function of a human being.
HISTORY:
___Ernan lost his sight when he was eight years old due to an out-of-control fever, and although it was confusing and scary at first, he learned to make the "best" of it. Growing up as a teenager it frustrated him, and depressed him, he didn't understand why it had to happen, which is understandable. He graduated from highschool, middle of his class. After he became 21 he finally came to terms with it and allowed his questioning of everything in the world to be washed away. He began immersing in Buddhist philosophy to help him get a better grip on the world around, and his parents supported him. He tried college, but eventually ended up making his childhood hobby his fulltime career. Music was a way for him to express himself artistically when he felt he could nowhere else. As much as he hurts from what was taken from him, it is now his refuge. Ernan isn't that remarkable a person, he lives every day like anyone else, but what he makes of everything makes him special enough for anyone.
PETS:
___Ernan has an old fawn Boxer dog, moderately flashy - named Bear. Because of a misunderstanding when Bear was a pup his ears were cropped but a poor job was done. While both pointed now, his left ear lies flat back against his head, while the right ear stands up and is crooked near the top. Greying severely on his muzzle, he has four white paws, a white chest and underbelly, a small white mark on the tip of his muzzle and a small odd white dash on the back of his neck. His tail is cropped, brown eyes, and he has a tongue that's too long for his mouth so the tip tends to poke right out the front. A mischievous sweetheart, Bear is Ernan's all-over best friend, and has had him as a seeing eye pup since the age of 13 (which makes this dog fairly over the hill, although he does his best to be spritely).

___I chose Uruz (upright) for its significance of fertility for a female, which as a former living island, she would more than likely be brimming with. It is also a symbol for new beginnings after a graceful end.
ABILITY:
___Idea1: Can see into a person's future briefly (cannot predict death, love, or birth), but is unable to tell that person what it is or it won't come true OR makes up random rhymes or limericks that are obscure and need to be severely analyzed to understand what they hold for the future (cannot predict death, love, or birth).
___Idea2: Has the ability to naturally cultivate aquatic or land-garden life and shape it as she wishes OR Can create small-medium objects from land or sea materials by drawing on her own body (which will need to rest afterwards).

PERSONALITY:
___This may depend on whether or not she is bald. I'm kind of hoping she will be, personally! I know it seems a little odd, but I think it would add really nicely to her character appearance and uniqueness. I would prefer it if her fingers were not webbed (for future roleplaying reasons), but later on perhaps her toes were a little bit.
___Sirani is, for lack of better wording, an island. She feels completely at home being on her own, lost in her own activities, it affords her time to think, read, and observe things around her. She is naturally reserved, and keeps many things to herself, but will interject when she feels something needs to be stated or corrected. She always considers what she says before she says it, and even if she recognizes the hurtfulness of it, may end up saying it anyway if she feels it would make a valid point. Not unlike Ernan in her willingness to completely avoid drama, she finds the best way to learn about people is to listen and then assess.
___For the most part, Sirani is shy, and will be quick to develop puppylove crushes every now and again. However, her low self-esteem concerning her eccentric looks may aid in potentially damaging her personal outlook. Painfully aware of her lack of hair, odd skin colouring, and other odd portions, she would compare herself to other woman relentlessly (if not privately). Sirani, because she is based upon a colossal creature, would probably have broad shoulders and a strong full-figure - although not quite as strong or large as a man. Because Ernan is blind, in the future he would be able to explain to her that true beauty does not revolve around looks, but rather whatever goodness is in her heart.
___Sirani will be quietly rebellious, whether against Ernan or anyone else, using her quick mind to pull minute pranks that give her endless delight. Quick to apologize if anything goes wrong, and bashfully ashamed of herself if it does (being an insult to both her ability to foresee a severe downside to the prank and that person). If caught during or after one of her little jokes, she will more than likely have her heart catch in her throat and shrink away as quickly as possible. Capable of an intensely shy love, she would probably hold on to it when she finally fell into it, but more than likely would never act upon it.
___More adjusted to various forms of seafood, land-food would not be particularly palatable to her unless it was a vegetable, fruit, or dairy. Her favourite treat is strawberry shortcake, and she occasionally drinks varieties of coffee while Ernan stays to teas. She has an enormous appetite, but before she has the body (or stomach) to eat properly, she will be drawing massive amounts of energy from land/sealife around her. In the beginning she will more than likely feel more comfortable sleeping in a continually warming jacuzzi, later on she could move onto a gentle water-bed. Although she is from a cold-blooded animal, she is warm-blooded, but extremely cold weather tends to make her sleepy and cuddly (in which case she will probably steal Bear away from Ernan to retreat to whatever area she felt like curling up in).
