::Crimson Skies::
Dazing off into lost thoughts Staring into the crimson sky The sun is setting, the breeze blowing So much life surrounds me; Yet everything is still dead.

I don't have a home So I can't get homesick I've been on boats before So i can't get seasick.
Planned on joining Right out of school Only to have that dream Shattered.
Now a year later I'm trying again Less to lose now, Yet so much more To miss.
I'm determined To get both accepted By the boyfriend & the Navy To prove something of myself Without being judged On my size.

::Blue Thundah::
We all focus and aim We are perfecting every move we make, Marching is the name of the game On the drill floor we awake.
Spinning rifles, tossing them around Looking snappy and serious, Hit the floor together, it’s a beautiful sound Some moves looking quite mysterious.
Exhibition teams take the floor! No commander to yell At the end, a roar A sign knowing we did well.

::Military Passion::
Courtesy. Respect. Responsibility. Trust. Honor. Focus. Self-discipline. Courage.
All these things make a:
Cadet Drill Team JROTC Corp A family.
I will never forget My high-school family I lived, breathed JROTC It was my passion.
I stayed in it all four years Acquired the nickname "Major Pain".
I was very small compared to most But I was one of the strongest And loudest, most respected.
Echo, Foxtrot, Bravo Alpha. The flights I was all in I stayed after school for PT sessions Drill Team and Color Guard practices.
I enjoyed the talks I shared with my class I enjoyed the pain We endured together.
I went Leadership School Leadership Challenge Weekend I met the Governor of New Hampshire Won Outstanding Flight, and even won Outstanding Unit, four years in a row. [That was a record for our Unit.]
I took a trip to West Point, And New York City, as my senior trip Even watched an Army/Air Force game I'll never forget that trip.
To all my fellow Space Cadets Out there in the world I wish you all the best of luck Hopefully we'll see each other again soon And laugh about all our memories;
Together, as a family.

::Names&Numbers::
We fight for men we have never met Yet we give our lives for thee. To them we are just names and numbers No difference between you and me.
It is time for those names and numbers to switch places With those that are well known. Give them a gun and send them along To where the s**t, out of them, will be blown.

::Sands Of Time::

I WAS ............ . .......... HERE ......
In the sands of Time On man stands alone; Serving his country While so many worry.
He was but an Angel A well loved Marine; Loving, Caring & Protective Of his few close friends.
Yet now he's been deported Once again, to the seas; God how much I miss him & wish for his safe return. [weloveyouwill]
It's now that I take the time To write this little poem; To think of all the others whom have served & gave the biggest sacrifice of all. It's because of your services That I can still walk freely; Speak my mind Instead of cowering in fear. to all the Fallen Soldiers - I thank you For your time & Dedication; You will never be forgotten & of course you will always be missed.

::Sniper's Serenade::
A single man falls without a sound to be heard And none of his comrades know how or why; They look around; fear slowly taking over As another soldier falls silently.
Taking cover from their unseen foe Looking to their commanders, not knowing where to go; A faint little whine in the air And suddenly another falls, his comrades can only stare.
Roving their eyes left and right Not knowing where to take the fight; Hurried orders yelled by the ones in charge Telling them to go and find the attackers, still at large.
Soldiers four, five, and six are shot All the basic rules have been forgot; Seven, eight and nine all die In their last breath, they say goodbye.
A state of panic suddenly grips their force There's only one reason; a sniper, of course; The deadliest of enemies, the greatest of shots He could kill them all. Every one of them. The lot.
How long had he been there; When would he leave; Would he grant them an ounce of reprieve? These unspoken thoughts, never to share.
Their shadowed attacker smirks in hiding As the battalion slowly retreats; He has done what was needed, which is sure to bring good tidings He slowly moves from his position, satisfied. Mission complete.

::War::
Bloodshed, death, decay No time to think Just to act on instinct No time to think about rules Only to become the fallen.
I wish I could start This whole thing over again I wish I didn't know now What I didn't know then.
Never thought I'd be here now Holding this sniper rifle Hiding in some dug-out trench Wondering if today Will be my last.
Breaking into a sweat Feels like I'll never leave This place is Hell There's no escape.
Watching as my brother falls I thought I was focused But I'm scared, we're not Prepared [at all].
Blood gushing From my brother's Chest and stomach My breath shortened Looking around for help My mind begins to race.
Piercing shots ring out all around Grenades and tanks deafening the sounds I scream out as A bullet lodges itself in my body.
Falling to my knees I stare into the crimson sky My body slowly losing control.
Blood flow slowing; Heart rate quieting Until my body completely shuts d o w n

Wow! Very good poems! If you knew my take on war, though, you'd probably laugh and call me something to the effect of wimp or pathetic. I can't stand people dieing. It's got to be the absolute worst part of living. Seeing someone you know die in front of you is a terrible tragedy. Because of my fear of that, I would never join the military. I'm extremely glad that so many other people do do it that way I don't have to. I'm very proud of our soldiers, even though I'm not for any war. I would consider myself a Peacemaker. Just as a coincidence that's what my name actually stands for, too. Anyway, I'm very much in awe of these poems. Two of them brought me to tears. Continue the good work.
