Axyn located in the Anocin System in the Inner Rim, is the home of the Axyn people, native to the world. Axyn was discovered in the second age of colonization and a treaty was negotiated between the Axyns and the Confederacy. The Axyns, a bug-like people, were very xenophobic even after the Confederacy fell and the Federation took its place. The government of Axyn never allowed trade ships to land, mainly because they had no trade goods and would make no money from intergalactic trade.

During the Galactic Civil War, Confederacy forces abandoned the world, not because of unrest, but simply because it wasn't worth defending. Since the Alliance never came to ensure the world's safety, the Axyn government decided to declare their independence. The Galactic Federation decided to grant their independence and negotiated a member world status.
