I love to knit with traditional needles--ALTHOUGH: I was turned on to the Knifty Knitter Looms. Now, I knit socks and I made an attempt on the KK short loom ((which is the pink one by the way)). On my own, I didn't get very far, so I went out and bought a few patterns--Now, I'm having trouble shaping the toe of the sock... I'm not asking for help, really wink I'll get the hang of it; I am curious though if anyone has tried to knit socks on the looms, or if anyone has mastered it smile Also, any general looming tips would be nice--or if anyone could recommend a good pattern; to further specify: I make hats, scarves, bags and sweaters.

@ Sundress- Aw, that is adorable =]
I haven't attempted to make socks on KK, but I did make a simple hat for my friend, and now I'm working on a pair of legwarmers.

Your octopus is cute! I've been making amigurumis with my flower loom. I'm trying to get a spool loom so I can start making limbs for my plushies! lol. I've made lots of hats with my KK looms. I'm going to be making my cosplay costume with my looms. I do knit with needles, but if I want something to be done quickly, I use the looms.

The problem I have with the looms (aside from the fact that I often loose the hook) is that it seems to only work well if you want to do a bulky project. Most of what I do uses a single strand of worsted weight, so i tend to stick with needles.

You're better off using chunky/bulky yarn with the looms because the gauge is a lot bigger. You could also use two worsted yarn together.

I know. That's why I stick with needles. I prefer items in single worsted weight.
