Now that's a tough one. Back then I would say both N'Sync and the Spice Girls. But then again the Spice Girls were like the female counter-part of the Backstreet Boys

A good question now is who are the BSB big rivals for 2009
'cause this year is going to be kinda hard like in 2007
if the radio and tv stations do not play their songs on heavy rotation in the different each respective countries......
Like in Canada Unbreakable went Gold, without the heavy rotation
but it wasn't like Never Gone ....

I think every other band/artist is for them now since their label doesn't care about their band like they use to. I mean for this cd their doing a lot more for bsb but I honestly think thats because this is the make or break of the band if they do good Jive will keep them on but f not Jive will dump them.

That's kinda true, but doubt that Jive would ever give up the Backstreet Boys. I mean they still have NSync 'even though they had disbanded' but still have a contract over their heads. Jive will just keep 'em cause they are 90's power house that made records which no one not even Jonas Brother and Miley Cyrus (It's kinda sad I know these two .... b surpised how many people at my university talks about them ... ) were or ever will be able to dublicate.
Yeah, it is true really is the make or break for this album, hense why it comes out I'm buying two xd right on the release date I really don't care if I got class on that day ... well I do if I have test or impotant lab that would make or break me lol

It's not sad, it's dedication! I wish that I could end up doing that but I don't know any die hard BSB fans that would go for something like that with me. And I never had the budget to buy two. It's always my dad that was in charge of my purchases so I really wasn't aloud to get duplicates.How on earth can I find really BSB die hards in my area ... most of my friends when it comes to bsb are okay ......

That's okay none of my friends like them and being I guy I get picked on for liking them all the time and for having the name tattooed to my arm but I don't care cuz if it wasn't for their music I would be dead.

I've been thinking about one along with some others but haven't made up my mind yet .... and I get the same .. but more of the shock then okay and from my guy friends made fun of .... black backstreet fan...even tho back when in 96 even the now gangsta boys were singing and dancing to bsb .......
Without their music I would truly been dead or in an aslyum or jail somewhere
Their music only had such a great affect on me

I think the BSB have become such a massive "brand name" now that no record label will be able to ditch them. They have such a massive following worldwide that there would be serious hue and cry if...such a thing occurred.
They have no rival now...they're a class of their own - for better or for worse. But back in the day, definitely N*Sync...but look...they totally bombed out as a group.
EDIT: "bombed". After some years.

I have to say that NSYNC was the biggest, but I hadn't heard of the Spice Girls when I started to listen to the Backstreet Boys, so my opinion might not be as valid.
