So recently I was informed by a friend of mine that our band instructor had intentions to let me into jazz band. As an upper classman I was on the top of his list and given first consideration. Unfortunatly we have little music for jazz flute, so I am going to be playing trombone. I think...
Anyways, I'm a woodwind addict, so when it comes to brass I'm in foreign territory. I need to know what brand of trombone is the best. Note I'm going to be playing jazz, so one that's jazz orientated ((Because I know different brands are good for different styles)) would be nice. I'm not looking for a student trombone, just to make that clear. I'm a firm beleiver in challanging myself by starting with higher level instruments so that way I don't get lazy... that's what I did with my flute and now ((I'm not conceited, I promise)) I'm actually a really amazing flute player.
So plleeeeassseee... can any of you wonderous trombone players out ther help me?

I recommend a Bach or Yamaha, I use a Bach Stradivarius with an open trigger, mines a bit old though. Just go for an open trigger if you are looking for a drier more airy sound it takes buckets of air but, it sounds great and Im only in 9th grade and I can play an instrument thats made for upper classmen imagine what itll sound like in a few years.

Well you could go for a horn with an F attachment trigger. Yamaha, Conn and Getzen make pretty cool jazz horns.
Oh and i'm moving this to the brass/woodwind forum.

if yuor going for a deeper lower sound go for a bass trombone with a pedal attachment. You can blast a low sound with that

Personally I love my Bundy. It was a hand me down from my dad, but they last a long time, and they give a full, brassy sound. They stay in tune good, and the metal is light, but durable! :]
