Almas looked in on the boys, watching them closely... they looked like they were sleeping but he knew they could have easily been faking it. They were good boys but at the same time they liked to stay up after their assigned bed times. He chewed on his lower lip for a moment before shaking his head, they would be alright for now he was sure.
He closed the door to the rooms he shared with them and started down the hallway.
He'd had a couple of parent meetings today and he'd missed lunch and dinner both, now was the time to raid the vending machine. He gave a grin at the key he had to the machines. While the workers had to pay for things inside he was able to use his key to steal things... yet another bad habit he'd picked up from being around humans to long but... eh. The stuff wasn't worth the money it asked for.
He looked back and forth down the hallway before he used his key to open the machine and set to taking out what he wanted.
When he appeared he was clothes in white, habit mainly as the robes draped over his form he looked somewhat like an angel of long ago. Old stories of Arch angels were held some truth to them, and Raael use to be one of them. His blond hair cascaded around his shoulders , his eyes an ice blue surveyed the other fallen who had begun rummaging from the vending machine. He took a moment to look around taking in his surroundings as well the aura's he felt within the strange confines. Just what had this demon been trying to do? It seemed keeping everyone out had been the goal. Too bad for him Raael knew just about every single defense spell and knew the way around them. He studied Almas again, sensing that broken soul had brought him here...he was always recruiting new fallen into his ranks.
"I don't mean to disturb you." He started in a soft tone, he didn't move from where he was standing, and if he hadn't spoken at all Almas probably wouldn't of known he was there. He was masking his aura to the point it seemed like he was nonexistent. "But I hear the Cheetos are pretty good." He continued after a moment the smile on his face seemed genuine.
Almas gave a jump at the sound of the voice, juggling what he was holding, and spun around to see who was there a guilty look on his face, "Ahhh..." He blinked a couple times, seeing who was standing there. He didn't look like any of the workers here that he'd ever seen. He almost looked like one of the angels but he didn't have that sort of feel to him.
"Cheetos? Would you like some since I have this open?" He asked, turning to reach into the machine to take it.
He hoped a treat of Cheetos would keep... whoever this was from ratting him out to Vampy for taking snacks.
He shook his head slowly, giving a soft laugh that sounded like bells. "No thank you, I am a vegen..I don't eat things like that." He said as he shifted a bit on the spot but didn't move otherwise.
"I am sorry how rude of me, I am Darkhan Raael." He said after a moment and gave the man before him a sweeping bow. He seemed..definately not of this world of man and when he stood up he waited as if wondering if Almas had heard of him before or not. It had been many hundreds of years since he had been one of the faith though demons knew of him very well he wasn't so sure about the celestial community.
Almas gave a laugh, "I used to be on a rather strick diet myself but of late I find myself eating a lot of junk food since I am so busy." He said, grabbing a few other things from the machine and closed it up. He turned in time to see the man bow down in front of him and his eyes went a bit wide, "Ahhh... it is nice to meet you. My name is Almas Gamaliel." He said, introducing himself.
He looked the man over, trying to place the name... it sounded familiar though he wasn't sure why that was.
He continued to smile as he then looked around curiously, "my but this place has so many...unique and interesting aura's. I cannot say I have even seen such a collection before in my life time." He continued as if actually awed by it, though in a sense he found the place quite pointless he didn't voice his opinion on the matter. He then looked to Almas,
"Though the most powerful of all doesn't seem to notice my presence." He gave a soft chuckle.
"May I walk with you? I fear standing so long will make my legs go numb." He lied he couldn't feel the blood pumping through his veins anymore...a lack of heart did that to a person.
Almas looked him over closely, "That's... odd. You can sense them?" He murmured, why couldn't he sense this guy? Was he so strong as that? The idea caused a shiver to go up his spine, worried the guy was here to cause problems, "Well... he doesn't come around often unless there is someone to yell at." He said finally, probably good Vampy didn't notice, he didn't want him fighting it out with this guy. He wasn't sure why the idea just made him nervous.
Raael gave a chuckle, "It doesn't sound like you care for him very much." He said as he moved to walk with Almas, even his foot steps seemed light he barely made a sound. "Of course I can sense them..all of them...quite an off jumble of creatures you have here.." He paused thinking he felt something off and it only fueled his smile to grow a bit. There was another about to fall..not just yet.. but soon.
"Of course....I was drawn here because of one particular aura I sensed." He said after a moment. "Can you guess who's?"
Almas gave a bit of a laugh, "I am getting over my heartbreak well enough. Its easier to be mad at him I guess." He told the guy then flushed a bit, wondering why he was telling the man such a thing. He looked over at him, seeming to be thinking on the question for a long time before giving shake of his head, "One of the demons? Maybe an angel... or perhaps one of the babies."
He only continued to smile though his smile turned into a frown as he shook his head giving a tsking sound. "Dear me...you are wrong. I am actually hear to see you." He said calmly as he turned to face the fallen squarely.
"Though I am not sure why you did not include yourself in that list, surely you see yourself as a valuable asset here..?" he ended it off as a question as he then moved to stand in front of Almas.
Almas looked... quite confused that the guy was here to see him, "Me?" He murmured, as though he'd heard that wrong. He looked almost hurt at the next thing said to him and his gaze dropped to the floor, "No... I am not valuable. Any human here could replace me easily enough." He told him, giving a bit of a shrug before he opened up a candy bar to take a bit, a way of distracting himself.
Seeing his opening the strange being dove in. "A shame truly it is. You see, you and I are rather the same. I was once like you...but now here I am. You too can be set back on a path, if you so choose..." he let the words hang in the air before he continued. "You see, I have a ..quest of sorts I am doing...no..more like a crusade. And I am gathering fallen like yourself to aid me..." He spoke easily with the flare of a singer, his voice showed his passion when it came to his quest and there was no doubt in his telling the truth of this.
Almas's eyes went wide, seeming to be fascinated in the manner that he spoke. He was on a crusade? Gathering Fallen? He gave a bit of a smile before looking away, "I wish you luck with your crusade but its not something that I can go along for." He explained. It was a shame, to hear that he was someone that was... wanted. It was a strange idea, to be more then a grunt worker.
"Oh? And why ever not? You said yourself you are not wanted here...why not come where you would be wanted?" He inquired softly it seemed the fish was not quite in the net yet...but perhaps he could coax it.
"I have children." He told the man finding himself looking in the direction of where they were staying, "They need to me to stay here and look after them, I can't think of myself it would be selfish."
He nodded his head a look of sadness crossing his features."Then I will not force your hand, for I too am on this quest for a child." He spoke though he sounded disappointed in which he was he knew there would be others he could gain. He would rather recruit someone who wasn't attached already to another burden. "Though it seems I shall take my leave...though I will be back soon.." He sounded distracted as if he was sensing something.
"I thank you for the offer, that I was needed somewhere... its a nice feeling." He told the man before he gave a little bow of his head when the man said he had to go, "It was nice talking with you and your welcome back if you wish to visit, just be careful to avoid Vampy." He wasn't sure which he worried about this man getting hurt or Vampy getting hurt...
He nodded his head, he didn't even seem angry at his offer being declined he just seemed understanding. "It is alright. I will know if you change your mind..." He said and then he did something unimaginable, he summoned his great wings. They ...seemed...so magical for the breif second he held them aloft so they formed a sort of halo around his body and then he was gone. No fallen should of been able to do that. And yet...Raael had but there was something...strange about it...like the wings..were tainted.
Almas gave a gasping sound at the appearance of the wings, feeling for a moment he was in the presence of someone great and next thing he knew he was on his knees. It was almost a reverent manner and he was frozen there for a long moment, even as after the man was gone. He was... someone special and the wings had the Fallen so dazzled he missed the taint the wings held.
There was the soft sound of footsteps coming from behind him they paused a few moments before proceeding again."....and what...are you doing?" came an icy voice that belong to non-other than Mr. Vampy. He did not sound impressed to find Almas in such a devote position.
Almas turned slowly to look at Vampy, looking strangely dazed, "I... saw him... one of Gods Archangels, he asked me on a crusade." He whispered, as though he were afraid to ruin the feeling that had overcome him.
Vampy appraised the man before him wondering vaguely if stress had caused the fallen to crack. "You are hallucinating, I sensed no godly creature as such in my compound. My defense is flawless." He snapped as it poking a needle into the Fallen's dream bubble.
The Fallen looked almost flushed from the run in, as though he had a fever... another thing that might have been brought on by stress and he gave a shake of his head, "I thought he would have turned his back on me completely by now, after all I have done... but he sent one of them to me..." He murmured, talking to himself. He left his post and committed so many crimes after that... he thought he would be on the list of those God disowned by now.
Vampy's face was one that seemed to stay a constant calm but even now that mask was starting to crack around the edges.
"Stop rambling nonsense." He ordered, "There is no going back after you have fallen, you know that." He continued his tone actually sounding a bit annoyed and angry. "get back to the kids before I am forced to kick some sense into you."
Almas lifted a hand to his shoulder, the tips of his fingers moving against the edge of one of his scars, "I know... I can't go back, I told him I couldn't go with him." He murmured before he pushed up to his feet, his food forgotten.
Vampy looked close to being exasperated, "Do what you want, but I suggest you go sleep. An stop muttering about 'him'." He hissed the last word as if it was bitter in his mouth before he continued walking down the hallway seriously thinking that Almas had indeed lost his mind.
Almas watched him go before giving him a dark look, "Be happy for my children Vampy. They are why I stayed." He snapped, before turning on his heel to head back toward his rooms.
