It wasn't a long trip Hewa was out on. Just outside the pride's area, he'd walked for a day so far, and was planing to go on for one more before turning back. There'd been some odd rumors gong around about a family passing through the area, and he wanted to be sure. With the new 'neighbors' one couldn't be too sure.
It was around noon when he'd stumbled on the two smallish lions resting in the shade. Was this the 'family'? He looked around but had seen no one. If they were alone, he might as well take them, right? Still, he didn't like the idea of catching slaves, but to tell he'd need to wake them.
"Hey...Hey! Get up, you two! What're you doing here, huh? Don't you know where you are, who's pride you're near to? Huh?" Might as well play the part of big scary lion...if they were demons they'd resist, be explosive back. If not, they'd run, right? "The Aikanaro'Hini own the land near here. It is a pride of deadly warriors and fierce hunters. You would do well to mind their borders and leave the area while you can, little ones."

Nobody liked being waken up, especially Loki. As the adolescent stirred, his ears moved back, red eyes slowly opening in a glare. There was hardly any hesitation as the deep mud-brown male got up, snarling at the larger lion. "Beat it, freak-face, we're SLEEPIN' here!" Eyes narrowed, his claws flexed out. Behind him, his brother stirred, awakened as well by the strange lion. When he looked up, Krishna promptly shrank down. While Loki had always been the bold, agressive twin, Krishna was more the shy, calm type. As such, he bore the brunt of his brother's anger with a smile and a 'It's just his nature' comment on his tongue. Watching this new lion, he swallowed. "Who are you...?"

Hewa let a faint smile quirk his lips at the first to stir's antics. Certainly bold enough, and fine colors...that was one for sure. With a flash of motion he'd cuffed the lad across the face. No claws, but the paw itself was heavy enough (and not to mention attached to a leg that was easily as big around as the adol's neck) to bowl the boy over. "Clearly you didn't hear me," He snarled back. "This is private property. You can sleep here if you want, but then you might wake up dead."
With a last huff at the first of the duo he turned to Krishna. Hmm, very different..."I am Mahewa. A demon warrior of the Aikanaro'Hini. And YOU are?" While he waited for a reply for the more timid male he seemed to disregard Loki. Of course, he knew better than to completely ignore him and was ready should he spring to attack. He was sure of his skills. His scars (the number of them combined with his robust heath besides them) spoke of his battling history. A lone adol wouldn't be hard to put down...Though who could say if the second one would join the fight. That might be just a bit more of an effort to deal with.

Tumbling, Loki snarled. As he slowly picked himself up, he glared at the adult. "Who are you to tell us we can't sleep here?! This ain't nobody's property!" He crouched, ready to charge. A look from Krishna, though, had him stand back up, claws flexing and digging into the ground. Oh, he wasn't happy, oh no... "What's an Aikanaro, anyway? And what's it to us?"
Swallowing, Krishna crept around his brother, peeking at Mahewa. "I.. I am Krishna... This is my brother... Loki..." Of course... This made sense now. His dreams... Scattered as they were... A great shadow of a lion, with blood rivulets on him, burning yellow eyes... Was this the lion from his dreams? Would this end like his dreams, with them following him?

The look Hewa gave to Loki as he snarled was one of barely masked contempt. It wasn't an emotion he felt often, and he was surprised with how...almost delicious it felt. Still, it was unsettling, it made him want to do things he normally might not, and he fought it down with a smirk. "Mind your brother, cub, or you won't live to have your questions answered."
He turned his attention to the meeker twin. He felt much more like for this one. Something about his posture, his face, said he'd already divined what was happening and accepted it. A smart lad. "Krishna and Loki..." He chuckled a bit and nodded to himself. "I am Mahewa, neumar for the Aikanaro'hini." His eyes flicked to Loki a moment. "Should you like to know more of what we are, then I suggest you come along quietly. If you do not care to know, then either turn tail and pray you can outrun me, or fight me and come along in pieces to be fed to my compatriots." Threatening perhaps...Maybe he would just let them go if they ran. Somehow he knew they would go with him, and that was why he made such a show. After a beat he winked one eye at Krishna, being sure Loki could not see it.

Loki snarled, glaring at the dark lion. "What, you're THREATENING me?" He started towards the other, stopping suddenly at a tug on his tail. Looking back, he found himself staring at Krishna, eyes large and begging. Snorting, he went back over, grabbing his twin by the cheek with his claws. "Krishna... Brother... I told you to never... Ever... Do that.." He dug his claws in, scraping at the green-haired lions face before turning back to glare at the adult.
Krishna whimpered a bit, fighting back any other signs of pain from his brother's claws. When Loki had settled a bit to where he wasn't trying to fight, the black-pelted twin looked up at the lion, watching him. "If we follow you... Can you guarantee we won't be killed...?" He paused, eying his brother. "Well... Barring Loki doing something stupid..."

Hewa stared Loki down, his eyes full of fire and an almost twisted darkness seemingly out of place. "Oh I am, cub. You going to make something of it?" He snorted and turned, seemingly at ease with showing his back to the pair. He looked back over his shoulder nonchalantly and tilted his head that they should follow him.
"As far as you not dying, I would never promise that. Especially when the cub does something stupid." He emphasized 'when', implying just what he thought of the more wild of the pair. "You might get into a fight with one of our more...excitable members, and then you'd die. The great gate-mountain might erupt and raid fire on your heads, and then you'd die. Someone might just decide that you're not strong enough, and then you'd die." He shrugged, as if this sort of thing was of no consequence. "I'd never say you won't die...But. If you come along and mind yourselves well, you'll have one less death to worry about." He flexed his claws, the thick pearly blades knifing through the dirt as easily as air. "And that's something of a plus for you, I suppose."
