A friendly girl with a serene smile, Korin is an optimistic hard-worker who makes up for a slightly clumsy edge with her willingness to practice until she achieves success. A perfectionist by nature, she puts memorizing the lines of that song, or getting that particular dance step down, or reciting that line of poetry just wonderfully, over sleeping or eating. Unfortunately, Korin doesn't have much of a creative streak and therefore must rely on the complete perfection of traditional things - she hates being forced to deviate from the norm, and is rather terrified of being humiliated in front of people for her own faults. This is most of the reason she practices everything so diligently and is so set on doing things the traditional way - not her, possibly wrong, new way. This may make her conservative, or easily scandalized by improvisation of any sort. Her fear of humiliation over her own creativity also makes her timid in trying new things or putting a well-deserved toe out of line. This conservative edge does not ally her with everyone, and she can end up clinging to a traditional method whether or not she actually supports it. This timidity about new things, however, does not make her timid socially, and she is outgoing and cheerful. Maybe a little too cheerful, in fact, as she can be a bit oblivious, or optimistic to the point of blinding herself to insults or faults in others, so dearly does she want to think the best of other people. Despite this, Korin is not dumb, and when the proper time to perform comes, her well-practiced skills speak for themselves. In other words, Korin is something of a Heian period goody-two-shoes.
