Maybe if you're a freshman and haven't lettered maybe you'd letter in band later on or something else. I would probably have lettered in swimming in the 2nd year if I had stayed.. xp
What's your grade and what instrument do you play? How many years did it take you to earn your letterman? <3

I lettered! A lot of people didnt! I got over 200 points more then I needed! lol! mostly cuz I'm in Jazz Band!

That's awesome!! I realized I had more points than I needed so I said "hey, why not get it now?" My other friends are getting them soon too. <3 Yay me and my friends are all going to have letter jackets!! ^ ^

i got lettered! we need 10 points for a letter.
we have : 4points if u make region/freshman region
3points if you make area
2points if you make state
3points if you get division 1 on LISD solo
3points if you get division 1 on LISD ensemble.
Solo and ensemble should by class 1 to get a point. which sucks:[

here, in band and in all the sports you get your letter after your first year lol

I lettered last year and will probably letter this year. I did WIBC, honor band, solo/ensemble, state solo, pit (for Annie), plus more games than I needed to. I got my jacket at homecoming and I wear it every day. I use it for a purse I keep so much crap in the pockets >.<

niutiu wait... you have to do stuff to get your letters? @______@ here, in band and in all the sports you get your letter after your first year lol oh yeah i have to do it 2. but on top of all the points we have to write a paragraph on WHY we deserve to have that letter. It's no big deal most of all the people who applied to get one got it.

Lettering is when you get the jacket that represents your achievements in what you lettered in at school. In my band, you have to get 24 points to letter, and yes, you can get it in 1 year, but it's highly unlikely.
Like you get 2 points for being in Symphonic 1 and 3 for being in WS, 2 points for marching in the fall semester and performing in the spring semester, something like that. <3 You can also get points for Solo/Ensemble, making state... and the big one if you get the "outstanding musician award" you automatically letter. XD

Ahh, okay. Thanks. xd I've seen some people around with them, mainly juniors and such, I just wasn't sure how they got them.

I'm in college now, but I got my letter in my Junior year in high school due to the fact that Katrina hit and everything got screwed up because of that. We got ours based upon how long we have been in band and attendance when I was still in high school.

At my school, you automatically letter after completing your second year of band. I was in guard. Past tense being used because I'm now almost done my sophomore year of college. Graduating after four years of marching band is sad, folks. You'll miss the band a lot.

I did. We can only letter once we are in marching band for 2 years. We can not get it just for being in band classes.

OMG, it's been so long since high school...^_^ I think I my sophomore year, and I think I also lettered in powerlifting as well, but I could be wrong ^_^ Both were and still are my passions, but classes and work and bills have delayed that for a bit crying

I would have lettered my freshman year but I moved and couldn't go to the very last performance at the graduation but I got my sophomore year.
This year I don't think I will be getting a letter because I just transferred to the Union band around January.
But I did letter in it!
