Name: Genevieve Ariet
Gender: Female
Age: 19
Physical description:
Genevieve is the sort of person who doesn't make much of an impression on the world. If anything, her appearance seems to beg the world to overlook her, to take her less then seriously. She's not unattractive, that would allow her to make some impact. But she's cute instead of beautiful, and gives the impression that she's younger than her 19 years.

A plump 5'1" Genevieve looks as if she might still have some growing to do. She's fairly flat chested despite her rounded hips, and her shoulders are narrow and delicate. She has a round face with chubby cheeks that dimple when she smiles. Her pale green eyes are inquisitive and thoughtful, though she's likely to lower them if someone unfamiliar is in the room. She wears her curly brown hair loose and long, waist-length and wild it often seems to be in the act of hiding her away. Naturally olive skinned, she's lighter than most with a similar skin tone, quite simply because she almost never sees the sun.

History/Backstory:
Born a member of the powerful Ariet crime family Genevieve had her every want and need catered to from birth. The apple of her mother's eye and doted on by her older brother Alexander, Genevieve never knew a moment of fear or difficulty. The Ariet family structure was patriarchal in nature, and thus the expectations on Genevieve were minimal. She certainly wasn't expected to be involved in the 'family business'. Instead she was allowed to pursue her own interests, given the best possible tuitors in all subjects, and allowed to develop at her own pace.

As a child Genevieve excelled in the study of magic and literature, with a particular interest in historical literature. She became something of a bookworm, a habit only encouraged by her solitary lifestyle. Her father was a busy man, and he often had Alexander in tow. Her mother kept Genevieve's social contacts to a minimum with a handful of approved 'safe' friends (mostly cousins). Her tutors kept her from needing to attend school with other children. She was, perhaps, lonely, but she was mostly unaware of that loneliness. She had nothing to compare it with.

Sheltered as she was from the majority of the details about the 'family business' she was taken rather by surprise when violence between the Ariets and another prominent crime family escalated. The culmination of the altercation was reached late one night while Genevieve and her brother were visiting with their maternal grandmother. They returned to discover their parents and the majority of their paternal extended family dead, with details emerging that a number of their own guards had been turned against them. Genevieve was fifteen, her brother, twenty.

Since that time, Genevieve has spent the majority of her time under the extraordinarily wary eye of her older brother. Many of the family's well hidden assets still remain at Alexander's disposal and a good percentage of that money has been spent on locking Genevieve up in the safest house that money can buy. Terrified of losing his only remaining close family and unwilling to trust bodyguards (it certainly didn't work out well in the past), Alexander only allows Genevieve out when he's at her side. Unfortunately for Genevieve, Alexander isn't home very often, busy as he is with attempting to resurrect the family business and gaining revenge. Genevieve, for her part, would just like to move beyond he past, so that perhaps she and her brother can both try really living for once.

Personality:
Genevieve has been raised to be a gentle, passive soul. Strong emotional outbursts were always frowned on in her family, and now her brother relies on her to create an aura of peace when he returns home. As Genevieve does her best to be a good person, she conforms to this stereotype as best as she is able. She doesn't raise her voice, talk back, or even imply that her desires might run counter to what's being asked about her.

That said, Genevieve is neither a robot nor an idiot. Extremely intelligent and well educated, she's capable of critically examining situations and could, if asked, give a fairly decent dissertation on crisis era literature. She's a capable, if not outstanding mage, though her talents are focused in relatively harmless areas including the creation of illusions and the encouragement of growth in plants. There's a deep hunger in Genevieve to be intellectually engaged and challenged, but the best she's allowed is access to just about any text money can buy.

Out in the 'real world' Genevieve does not fare as well as she'd like. Sheltered as she is, she has difficulty interacting with strangers. She's never been taught how to navigate social niceties like small talk as she's never spent time around someone she hasn't known her entire life. As a result, she can come off as either quite odd or terribly shy depending on whether or not her curiosity has been engaged.

Other important notes, quirks? I believe I've said everything I wanted to say.
