((Anything Raieth says in her native language (which pokemon understand) will be like < This> )) About 20 minutes from the ocean is a small freshwater spring in a clearing. It has a small pool aprox. 10 feet across and 5 feet deep. There are some small fish and frogs and such. As a very reliable water source there are many creatures who visit this location. At the moment there are two larger creatures here. A vulpix and a very large, very naked humanoid creature. To a human, it's painfully obvious that this is a female. Although, with her smooth horned head, double jointed legs, long tail and blue skin she will never be mistaken as a human. However, any human would be able to recognize the large purplish splotches on her lean frame as bruises. Slowly wading into the water she gasped. <Oh it's so cold!> deciding to get it over with quickly she ducked under the water.Tick made a disgusted face and quenched her thirst at the edge.Surfacing Raieth had a contented look on her face. <It feels so nice. You should come in!> She hadn't been with the little fire poke for long but she already knew what the answer would be. Instead of waiting for a response she also drank the cool clear liquid. The way that she drank suggested that she hadn't had water in quite some time.Tick merely rolled her eyes, and moved a little farther from the water so as not to get splashed and curled up. She knew her companion needed this rest so she busied herself with grooming.((I'm going to be doing house work most of today so I'll be here just not continuously))

After drinking as much as she could hold, Raieth started to scrub the salt off her body. <I wish I had grabbed some sand. Oh well. At least I can get the salt off with just water.> As she scrubbed she splashed. Forgetting that other creatures are in the forest.

Not far from the spring, a pokemon trainer was walking through the forest, doing what she did best; explore. At the moment, all her pokemon had been recalled into their pokeballs, save for a blue egg which she had kept in a backpack that she had altered in order to house it.
"What is it with me and forests lately..." For now she was content to wander the forest, but she noted that her drink bottle was empty. Up ahead, she could hear the splashing of water. "There must be a pond up ahead" she mused out loud. "Might as well go check it out"

Tick's ear twitched and she looked up from her bath, one leg still in the air. "Did you..?"
Unfortunately for Raieth she was still rinsing and didn't hear Ticks question, or the sound that spawned it. <There is just nothing like feeling clean.>

Coming towards the spring, poke could see that a vulpix was sitting on the edge, giving it;self a good clean. Well that was expected, since it was a fire pokemon, but what she didn't expect was to see something in the water. She blanched, her eyes wide and took a few steps back in a defensive posture.
What is that thing?? is that a new kind of pokemon I haven't heard about? she thought, her hand going towards her back pocket.

As soon as the human entered the clearing Tick went into a defensive posture and hissed. Loudly.
Now that got Raieth's attention. <Tick what's the mat-> She turned to where Tick was looking. <-ter. Oh.> She stood up, so the water was around her hips. <I thought you said pokemon don't usually wear coverings?> She cocked her head to the side. Looking at the intruder with a curious glance. <Are you here for water?>
((just a note, you'd probably understand Raieth about as well as someone else's pokemon. A word here or there but not the whole thing.))

Poke was quite good at listening to what pokemon said. Having been around them for so long, she could hear most poekon as if they were speaking in plain english. However she was having trouble making out a few words here. Something about clothing, and water. Her monkey tail uncurled from her waist in order to give her some extra balance, Her hand still inher back pocket.
She stayed in this posture for a few more seconds, trying to eye up the other's strengths and weakness by the physical appearence alone, befor her arm suddenly whipped around, unleasing a pokeball.
"POKEBALL, GO!" She shouted.

"NO!!" Tick ran as hard as she could. "Dirty human!" She knew she wasn't going to make it in time.
Raieth noted the tail before she threw the ball. Because she was a little ways away, Raieth had no trouble catching it in her clawed hands. "Poke ball?" She mimicked.
Tick nearly fainted with relief. "Humans are violent and tricky. She just tried to catch you!" The venom in Ticks voice was clear as day.
Walking out of the water, <Catch? Human? Why does? OH!> Forming her tounge very carefully Raieth looked at Poke and slowly said, "Speak trade talk?" She crouched down near Tick still holding the pokeball.
((lol I kinda expect her to have to fend off trainers a lot!))

((lol no prob. I was just doing it for the humour anyways XD))
"....Huh..." poke looked at the smaller pokemon, and then at the the blue creature. Normaly she wouldn't have just thrown a pokeball out at a pokemon she didn't even know, but on this occasion she didn't know how the other was going to act. It could of been violent and tried to attack, so if she chose to try catch it before it could have done anything. However...she was now having doubts as to if this thing was even a pokemon, as it simply cought the pokeball, as if they were playing a game of catch.
It was also obvious the vulpix had a connection to the blue thing; It looked like it wanted to eat her for breakfast.
Her attention went back to the creture as it asked her a question. Poke wasn't exactly sure what it was asking her.
"I...speak english..." she said slowly. Mabye she should ask it to go back to it's original lanuage, as it knew how to speak that better, judging how it communicated with the vulpix. "You...speak pokemon?"

Seeing as how the threat had apparently passed Raieth shook off the last of the water, tiny droplets hissing when they hit the fire poke.
<My new friend, Tick tells me that this is what I speak.> She pointed at the vulpix. Who was still all fluffed up and angry.
<I am called Raieth.> She sat and motioned to the ground next to her. "Come, sit, talk." While Raieth waited she turned the pokeball in her hands, feeling every curve.
Tick was still very leery of the human. When Raieth sat down, Tick curled up next to her. One eye on the human, one on the pokeball.

Nodding, poke moved towards the creature and sat down on the grass that the Raieth indicated to, noting that the vulpix was still watching her every move.
"Raieth huh..." she mumbled back. "My Name is poke. I'm a pokemon trainer. And...would you mind telling me...er, what you are? I don't beliee I have encountered someone like you before"

Although Raieth didn't understand every word Poke said she did understand the question. She laughed <I was going to ask you the same thing. I am a Drakth'n. I washed up here in this strange land during the tsunami a few days ago.> She looked at the ball she still held. <What is this? Tick said you were trying to 'catch' me?>
((Drack-thin just without the i sound.))

"drak-th'n?" she repeated. "that sounds alot like dragon to me, although you do look sorta lika one... " "As for me, I'm a human...for the most part." Her tail seemed to move around a little as she spoke. "Although, most humans don't have one of these" she indicated to her extra appendage. "There are plenty of humans around, so I'd be careful of them if I were you."
When the question of what the pokeball was for, poke visuably blanched, and then placed a hand on her head while laughing nervously. "Well...you see, There are lots of pokemon about that are either very hard to find, or they can be really vicious and, since I didn't know who you were or what you were gonna do I kinda, threw a pokeball at you by accident. I'm sorry..."
Placing her hand in her back pocket, she brought out another pokeball to help her explain. "These things are called poke'balls. Pokemon trainers carry these around, and when they find a wild pokemon they want to train, they throw it at it. Depending on the strength of the wild pokemon, or how healthy it is, or perhaps by blind luck, the pokeball can trap them inside, and then this allows the trainer to train them in order to....to..."
She paused, frowning a bit and folding her arms together. She could tell Raieth didn't have a clue about pokemon and the other stuff, but she was sure that the things she was describing would make her sound like a barbarian.

<I am most flattered, the great dragons of the water are very graceful.> She gestured to the curled up and more relaxed Vulpix. <Tick also thought that I was a pokemon when she found me.>
She looked at the ball and said almost to herself, <All pokemon fit in here?> Looking back at poke she came to a conclusion, using what Tick had told her already and this new information. <Pokemon are caught, then trained. They are like tools. Tools you have to teach?> She frowned. An impressive sight as her whole face wrinkled slightly.
"You fight." She spat, her hatred not lessened at all. She glared at Poke, as if to say, I dare you to contradict me. <But the men make the pinching insects fight and they have no use for these.> Now she was really confused. She shook her head. <I'm afraid I am more confused than when we started. I am missing something?> She turned the ball in her hands knowing that somehow it held the answer.

"pokemon are by no means tools" poke quickly said, and then waited as Tick told her what she believed the function was for pokemon. "er..but most pokemon are trained to fight, yes... But, it also depends on the trainer..."
poke wondered what Raieth meant by "pinching insects", before trying to continue on with explainging things, without giving her the wrong idea.
"There are many trainers out there, like myself, who take the greatest of care when they train their pokemon. And pokemon battles, which is when they fight, are also controlled to make sure the pokemon aren't serisouly hurt. There are even special places, called pokemon centers, they have the primary function of healing pokemon when they have been injured."
"However, there are also people who like to mistreat pokemon..." she looked at Tick now, whom she guessed must knew of humans more evil side. "I take it you have had a run in with these kinds of people?"
