The talk of Texas seceding from the union has been underway for a long time now. The Texas Constitution, while it does not say Texas has the right to secede, it does say in Article 1, Section 1 that "Texas is a free and independent State, subject only to the Constitution of the United States..." (note that it does not state "...subject to the President of the United States..." or "...subject to the Congress of the United States..." or "...subject to the collective will of one or more of the other States...")

I do not want another civil war. But I can understand how upset people are over what is going on - upset enough to demonstrate by secession. What do you guys think about this? Should Texas secede? Will other states join in? If so, how will our government respond?
