Ok, I came back after a couple of days to find my AprilFools topic had alot of angry responses. I'm really not sure what you're all so angry about at all, but there seems to be alot of unlabeled anger towards me and I don't like that, especially when I don't know where its coming from. Rather than rant about it over in a topic which was made as a joke, we should calmly talk about it. (and really, if you guys hate my posts so much, I can stop posting outside of this thread, and if you want, I'm perfectly willing to leave altogether, it's not like this is the only place to talk to people...)
Anyway, I guess I should respond to some things some people said when they started exploding...
Fumeiyo-chan Obviously. I'm wondering when all the animosity started, exactly. And why. I feel like I'm missing something here.
That's exactly what I'm thinking... I mean, it's not like I'm going out of my way to attack people, I'm just making my usual laid back posts...
Grian-Faol You exentric and flamboyant. And you always rub me the wrong way.
Is that really so bad? Really, that doesn't sound like a reason to hate someone, I have plenty of strange friends (granted I think the ones on the sports teams are as strange as the stamp-collectors), but we get along fine... I don't know what I've done to really mess with you though, I don't think I've ever even acknowledged one of your posts...
Ounces of Ashes youve treated Grian like s**t and he has been nothing but nice.
Now hold on here, when have I said one word to him? Now really, I can't possibly remember all the things I say to people, but what could I have said to Grian that was so offensive? (and was it here or somewhere else?)

I'm actually not sure why I'm vice-captain, I think Fumeyo needed someone to replace warsniper, and when I came along, she'd seen me elsewhere so she grabbed me. But hold on, when have I even mentioned the fact that I'm vice-captain? All I've ever done as VC was invite a couple people who didn't do much.

RockstarRaccoon They're good, considering the fact that Gaia could use alot more and alot more diversity of items, and that it's extremely hard to find items that you want. you totally disregarded that fumeiyo gave you gifts and never thanked her. hmmm.... I said that because he seemed to be saying that "everything was fine until Sherlawk showed up!", but in truth, everything was fine until he showed up. Now I'm not saying that it's his fault (I don't think it is), but Fumeyo has not expressed anything but confusion to me over this whole scandal, and until recently, you didn't say you had a problem either. no acctually i think this is quite rediculous. if your just going to justify everything even when your quite wrong then i can tell your not really qualified for your position, because you cant even tell when you bother someone. but that is not my decission. i will not be discussing anything more with you because like i said, you arnt going to think you are wrong. i know alot more than you think.
plus your quoting thing is kind of childish.

Have you ever really been wrong in your mind before someone actually came out, with proof, and proved that what you did was wrong? Do you think that you are some god that deserves better treatment than the rest of us, that we shouldn't be treated with the same respect as every other person/animal in this wonderful world? I would even go as far as to say that your also a habitual lair. That you try to get out of every thing wrong you have ever done without people seeing what your like. You don't want anyone to know that your a complete and total a*****e. And as for the squirrel jokes. Why in the HELL would you even crack a joke about someone's Inner animal? That is just plain rude man.

I'll admit that it did hurt my feelings when you blatantly disregarded my gifts. You say you PMed me so I checked and I didn't find it. I spend hard-earned gold to buy gifts for my guild members, just like I do for my friends in real life. I look for things on their wish lists and if they don't have a list set up I look for something to go along with their Theriotype. My resources are very limited, and I was excited when I actually had something exact for a guild member, i.e. the raccoon tail, the eye tattoo, and the dragon tail you're currently wearing. It's not easy and I stress over it when I can't find what I'm looking for, so to have you basically tell me it was pointless and it sucked, it made me feel like I shouldn't even bother. But I let that go.
The way you treated WildBoy in the "Need Help to Learn Shifting" thread wasn't great either. I was surprised that he actually stuck with the guild after the little ego-bashing number you did on him. I tried to smooth that over, and I think I succeeded, at least a little, and I let that go too. The goal is to understand and help each other, not tear each other down. And before you go on a rant about how others are tearing you down, too, let me say that I clearly stated that it was against the ideals of the guild to continue in this manner. I've tried talking to the others involved and I've tried being diplomatic without involving my own feelings like a good leader should, but this has apparently gone too far for that to work.
You've also stated that Grian-Faol's angst toward you is unjustified. Let me go out on a limb here and say that I think to a certain extent it is completely justified. You belittled him when he had a new shifting experience, and it seems like you go out of your way to antagonize him. Since this first came up I've been going through all the posts that have been made by you to the others involved, and I don't like the level of disdain and disregard for the feelings of others that you show. I'm sick of preaching tolerance to people when no one listens. Besides, I have a strong level of dislike for preachers. The way I see it, there's no use in continuing to try to teach someone who refuses to learn. I let the situation with Grian go, too, when I probably shouldn't have.
You seem to pick on Ounces of Ashes for no reason as well. I'll be the first to admit that I'm biased on this subject because he's my best friend, I've known him for a very long time, and subsequently I'm very protective of him. He's been polite to you and until recently has never said anything to you to cause this antagonism, and only then because you pushed him until he snapped. He's got enough on his plate as it is without having to deal with this kind of bullshit from people who should be, if not his friends, then his confidants. Messing with him was the one thing I couldn't let go.
So here's my thoughts on all of this: unless I'm not getting the full story, I think that these statements are justified. If I'm wrong on this please feel free to correct me. However, something has to change. I feel like I hold a lot of the fault on this because I didn't step in sooner; my problem was that I kept letting things go, writing it off to something else and ignoring it. Instead of the problem going away it grew, just like most problems do when you pretend they don't exist. I spoke to everyone involved directly, including you, in the hopes that it would help, but it didn't, so here we are. One of the things you told me was that sometimes people don't understand your sense of humor, and maybe that's true, so I can see both sides of this issue. And by the way, you said:

This says to me that you're not serious about the guild and your position in it. If that's the case, why did you step up as VC when I offered it? If you didn't want the position you should have told me and I'd have found another person for the job, or none at all. It doesn't matter to me that there are other places out there to talk to people; it's not like you really came to the forum much anyway. What matters to me is that the guild is active and the members are happy. I'm dedicated to that happiness most of all.
