Name: Saraket
Age: 15
Sex: Female
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual
Craft: Former Baker apprentice candidate
Rank: Candidate

Physical Description: Short, stocky, and overall, rather plain. Her best features (according to her) are her eyes, and her soft, wavy hair. Her worst features are her wide nose, and large hands and feet. She exercises in order to prevent herself from getting fat, but isn't athletic by a long shot.

Personality: Painfully shy. Partly because she's self conscious of her appearance, and partly because she hates confrontation. She doesn't talk much at all, except when asked specific questions. However, she is very observant, and likes to watch everything that happens around her. She has a very good memory, but will oftentimes take notes and even draw things that she doesn't want to forget.
Saraket has no initiative, except in things in which she's keenly interested. She won't complain about being given a chore, but she'll do it to the letter, and not one mark more. If she wants something from someone, instead of approaching them, she usually stalks them until they take notice of her, and ask her what she wants.

History: Saraket was born to a low-ranking Baker and Tanner in the Ista Hold. She had hearing problems at an early age, caused by an infection that the Hold Healer managed to cure. While she no longer has hearing problems, they contributed to her being unwilling to talk when she was young.
The Hold being a busy place, Saraket's Mother, the Baker, expected her to help out in the kitchens, and to eventually travel to a Baker Hall to learn the craft. While her Mother was overbearing, Saraket's Father was more indulgent. He asked the resident Harper to teach her the basics of reading and writing. When she showed an interest in practicing those skills, he showed her how to use scraps of animal hide and ashes as writing implements.
Saraket was a dutiful daughter, afraid of disappointing her Mother, she fully intended to enter the Baker craft, right up until her Mother died after being scalded by a carelessly handled pot of boiling water.
Both Saraket and her Father grieved, and Saraket found herself at a loss as to what to do, her Mother having been the driving force in her life. Her Father, while loving, had also depended upon his wife to make the decisions, and without her presence, became more and more immersed in his work. With no real ambitions, and few connections except for the people she knew in the kitchens, Saraket found herself in limbo. So, she eventually returned to helping in the kitchens, and has remained there to this day.

Other/Talents: Makes a mean cup of Klah. Cooks fairly well. Makes her own (crude) implements with which she writes.
