The rain had come on so suddenly that Teppy was caught unaware. She was roaming in the younger area of the forest when she heard the first boom indicating the oncoming downpour. There had been many booms following that one, each bringing more rain along with it. The trees were still small here, the thickest one barely the width of a two-legger. It didn't offer much cover from the wet so Teppy traveled with her head down, the water pattering down her back and sending a chill through her despite the warmth of that day. It was hard for her to see through her long mane, which stubbornly stuck to her face.
"Hello?" she called out, wondering if anyone found themselves in the same predicament. She scanned the area as best as she could for shelter or a sign of life, but it was quiet where she stood. As much as it was uncomfortable, Teppy didn't mind the rain, but she didn't want to be caught without cover if it started to hail. The area where she stood was rather still so she continued on, blinking rain from her eyes.

This is a first, Esme thought to herself. The drops of water were facinating. They began to fall faster, and as they reached the ground, she could hear the little drops bounce. "Odd." She was lucky enough to already be deep in the forest, to where most believed was the center. Years ago, the two-leggeds made a shelter out of an enormous tree. It wasn't very large, but it was cosy, allowing her to remain dry. Esme finally decided she liked the rain, as she'd heard her parents refer to it.. It was change...change is good.

Deeper and deeper Teppy went, glad that the tree cover was increasing. Though she wouldn't stop until she found a solid shelter that was more reliable than just some leafy branches. She was thoroughly drenched already, but the slowing of the droplets on her back was already making her feel warmer.
The wet leaves deadened her hoof falls, and all she could hear was the rain. She squinted at a very large tree in front of her, noticing an opening in it's trunk. She couldn't tell if it was occupied or not from where she was, but it looked like shelter, so she went towards it.
"Hello?" Teppy called out, trying to shake her mane off her face for what seemed like the hundredth time.

Hm. Was that a mare in front of her? The mare honestly couldn't tell thanks to the blur the rain caused in her vision. All she could see was a faint glow of white, with a red stripe. Hello. She heard a faint call. As she stood up, to step slightly out, she squinted taking in the mare. "Hello. Are you okay? You should come under here to dry off." Esme was always worried for everyone's safety, even if they were trying to kill her. She must have inherited it from her father..maybe her mother? Anyone had to admit...her genes were pretty crazy. Shaking away the thought, she waited as the mare approached.

A mare peeked through the tree. Just what she expected... was everyone better at finding shelter that she was? Teppy laughed at herself a little, squinting and blinking to see her. Was that a glint of white against her dark mane? Grateful for being invited in, she hurried into the tree.
"Ick..." Teppy long mane weighed her down and she noticed her usually well-groomed tail was full of muck from dragging it along. "Thank you! I'm soaked," she laughed, knowing she must be quite a sight. "I hope I didn't drip on you." Then she blinked at Esme. A beautiful spiral horn sparkled from her forehead. She didn't mean to stare but she had never seen an uni before. Or a mare with such interesting adornments... Teppy looked away when she realized what she was doing, hoping that Esme hadn't noticed.

"Oh no, no, it's all fine..I actually enjoy the rain. I suppose you could call it..my happy place?" Laughing, she looked at the mare. What a long mane.. So far, Esme had only met soquili's with beautiful patterns...none as plain as herself..but she had also never met one with two-legger clothes...that must count for something, right? Turning her head towards the downpour, she smiled. "It's raining quite harshly, wouldn't you say?"

At Esme's question, Teppy couldn't help but laugh too. "Yes I would say so! I walked quite a ways out there, before I found you." She grinned, then stood back with a sigh. "I wonder when this will stop... I do have to get back home eventually. I like the rain too, I just hope my two-legger got out of the rain before it really started to pour. She's so cranky, she'd stand there and yell at the clouds until they went away."
"Do you have a two-legger somewhere?" It occurred to Teppy that it might be a silly question considering what Esme was wearing. "And, well if you don't mind me asking.... What are you?" She asked it kind of quietly, embarrassed that she had to ask at all.
