(OOC: This RP takes place before the diseased Hlessil arrive) She had been flattered, that was it, U'tuhlroo thought as she stalked through the burrows. The black and white buck had been absolutely charming and... we'll it wasn't only bucks who had certain needs. If their tryst should have certain consequences he might even be nice enough to help out. Now, a few days later, she wasn't as impressed anymore. There were apparently others who had also been charmed by Buster, according to the rumours. While it had been little more than a fling to U'tuhlroo at the time, she was working up a right temper about not being the only one falling for Buster's charm.
"Must have been temporary insanity," she huffed as she made her way towards the closest exit. "That's it. Nothing more."
She sniffed the air for a few heartbeats before getting out to take the shortest way to her unsuspecting victim. Silflaying rabbits moved aside but U'tuhlroo gave them little thought.
"Buster," she growled, standing at the mouth of the burrow she knew for a fact he usually slept in, "Get your furry butt out here!"

The mating season had seemed to control the younger buck these days. He had been so into everything with legs, that he was happy that none of the females he had bred with, had actually taken. He was alone again, and that was how he liked it.
He wasnt one to go around with all girls, but his first breeding season had proven to be quite a strain on his will power.
He had met a charming number of females, and they had all been looking for exactly what his need needed. He had thought himself lucky.. Until he heard her voice.
'Buster get your furry butt out here!" Came echoing through his den. His ears lowered against his head, and he crouched against the dirt of his home with a shudder. Oh he remembered her alright. She had been one of his favorites. She had the most personality. But now, it seemed U'tuhlroo was angry, and he had tried to make sure to stay on her good side.
He slowly edged out of his den, blue eyes peering this way and that as he finally exited the den. Standing a bit tall, he stretched, yawned, and then blinked a bit, before looking at her.
"U'tuhlroo!" He smiled. "How have you been?"

Buster's friendly greeting only served to agitate the brown doe further. How dare he smile and act as if nothing had happened. She might be pregnant here! It was too early to hear any heartbeats and know for sure, but there was a possibility that she might be. It scared her, and she really hated being afraid. She blatantly ignored that she hadn't exactly been unwilling and instead decided that this was all his fault.
"How do you think I've been," she asked in a low dangerous voice, before it rose to a high pitched shout, "Did you have to court half the warren you Embleer flirt?! Didn't your Marli tell you to try to stick to one doe at the time?"
Sure, a lot of bucks took any opportunity to get some, and it was only expected that stronger bucks would father many kittens. And sure, she hadn't exactly expected him to stick around... But the fact that he had apparently been juggling several does at once really irked her for some reason. It might just be something hormonal because of... Great Frith, let it not be hormonal.

Buster backed away a bit, his eyes ticking around him for any kind of escape route, should he need one. He wouldnt run, unless he felt he was in immediate danger. Which he was sure wouldnt be too far off.
"It all just happened so fast, U'ruhlroo.. I felt like I had no control. I was beside myself, watching. It was just instinct. I didn't feel anything for any of 'em.. " Which was true. She had been the only one he had been truly excited over. She would make a good female, a good mother, and a strong doe. He had hoped that she would concieve, but he had not expected to mate with have the court either..
"Im just younger, and I have a hard time stopping it." He said, as if it was explanation. He had no one that really liked him, stopping him.. He felt sure this doe had felt nothing for him, astheir fling had been quite unexpected.

Both U'tuhlroo's ears were facing backward and her whole body language made it obvious that she was very angry indeed. Angry enough to attack? Probably not, but she might get there so Buster was right to be nervous. The female was currently trying to block his escape route, but if he really wanted to he could try to bowl her over and make a run for it.
"You're just another pathetic male," she hissed and lowered her ears just a fraction, following Buster as he backed away. "What do you plan to do when all those females start popping out miniature Busters? Hmm? Hope a Homba eats them before they ask you to get involved?"
Was this coward of a buck going to be the father of her kittens? They better take after her.

He stood up taller at that, his features growing dark as he narrowed his eyes. He wasnt angry, but he was going to let her know exactly how he felt about possible children.
"Same as I would want ours to survive, I would want all of them to survive, should I actualy have impregnated more than one..." He said, voice strong.
"I would be in every life's life.. So long as they should want me there.. Doesnt mean the females means anything to me." He said, nodding a bit, his features softening.
He felt better now.

U'tuhlroo rose on her haunches, mirroring Buster as he stood up taller. Finally some kind of reaction, and if he was going to fight her she would make sure that he wouldn't forget it. She had never been in any serious fights, just the usual squabble among outskirters, but there was no doubt in her mind that she would be good at it. When it became obvious that Buster just wanted to talk and not attack her she relaxed a bit, and actually turned one ear towards him.
"Good for you," she said with an aloof sniff, "It almost sounds as if you are mature enough to..."
"Doesnt mean the females means anything to me."
She froze and lowered her ears again. Had he just said what she thought he had said? That she and the other females didn't mean a thing? The nerve!
"Fine!" she said and started to back away, "I hope you have a very happy life with all your babies. I'm going to go dig a burrow!"

Buster sighed, wrinkling his nose a bit.
"I said the other ones.. If they were to confront me, Id wave to them as a friend. The only one Im caring enough to explain to, is you."
He said, looking at her with a c**k of his head. He had grown fond of the female, and now that she was upset with him, he didn't know what to say.
Yes, he knew NOW that he had been another cheesy male. But he had been driven by instinct, and it was right to do at the time.. or so he had thought.
"Please do not be mad at me.. If you are caring our babies, I will be there. So we must get along.. Because our babies would be different.." He said with a nod. He hadnt wanted babies with others, they had been weak, senseless females, but they had been willing and he couldnt help it.
U'thulroo had been a quest of his. He thought her a gorgeous intelligent female. He wondered if everything was over for the two now, that his hormones [and his mouth] kept seeming ot get him in trouble.

Perhaps she should have just turned around and left, but something made her hesitate. Later, she would hate herself for not simply running away then and there. Why listen when it could only add to her anger and confusion? U'tuhlroo was conflicted, frustrated and couldn't make any sense of her own emotions. In the end it was simply easier to be furious at Buster. She shook her head, but it did nothing to help the chaos inside.
"You and me and all your kittens," she said, not knowing if she should laugh or bite him. "I'm 'special', huh?"
If Buster had hoped that she'd be happy about this new development he was mistaken. Perhaps she would be able to take a more rational approach to this whole mess later, but she was not ready to forgive yet. All U'tuhlroo knew was that she wanted to get away from this situation she had gotten herself into. She had almost managed to forget that she had sought him out in the first place.
"Not now..." she pleaded, "I can't. I can't make any sense of all this. I'll go dig that burrow."
She took a few uncertain hops away from him, desperately hoping he wouldn't try to follow. If her suspicion was right, and she was going to be a Marli, she would need a safe place for her kittens.

He looked defeated, and wanted nothing more than to make her feel better. But he was beginning to think he was fighting a losing battle. Maybe she wouldnt forgive him.. and if she didnt.. Then maybe she never would.
His voice was soft, as if he was truly was trying to not let her leave angry.
"Can..Can I help?" He asked.
He had no tmade the offer to any other female. He had not cared to. And it was alot of work, he wouldnt ask anyone else. But he hoped she said yes. He truly wanted to help the femme.

She stopped her half hearted escape and pondered for a brief moment if it would be better to dig a burrow and hide, there and then. Buster sounded so sincere, and if he was just faking to stay on her good side he was good enough to be a storyteller. A male who just tried to dodge all responsibility would have let her go without any fuss, right?
Why did I have to find a nice and sensitive one?
Her usual approach when things didn't go her way was aggression, and it wasn't doing her much good this time. She made a digging motion and mauled the grass with one paw but didn't break the turf. No.
"I..." she said, tensing up her shoulders and refusing to turn to look at him this time, "Not right now. I need some time alone."
That was perfectly reasonable, right? See, now he had made her become all reasonable. She barely managed to stop herself from going off on another angry rant.
"We'll talk about this later," she said, trying to keep her voice calm and level, "Come look for... No, I'll come find you in a few days."

He truly did mean his words. He had always been an honest buck, even though he was younger. He wanted to comfort her. She seemed so upset, and for him to have caused it all..
"Okay, I can understand. I shall wait for you then, as you know where I stay." He said, motioning to his burrow with a nod of his head.
"I am sorry, and I hope you feel better." He said, lowering his ears a bit, and trying to smile for her.

Busters kind words didn't make U'tuhlroo's decision any easier, and she slunk off, feeling more than a little bit guilty. See, she had no intention to actually go look for Buster later, and she hoped he wouldn't seek her out when he realised. For now she just wanted to find a nice deep place in the warren and start to dig a safe burrow for the kittens she was sure she carried. Anything to keep her occupied and forget about this argument. In time she would realise that she was wrong about the kittens, and that she had exploded at Buster for no good reason. This, however, would not make her any more inclined to seek him out for another talk.
