For every rule about which Sun Signs are compatible, there’s an exception to be found out there in the world living happily – or unhappily -- ever after. What some call mismatches, others accept as part of the crucible that is human relationships. Look at the Sun signs of family, friends, and you'll likely see the full spectrum.
Some Sun signs do mesh better at the outset than others. Take note, however, that the other planets, especially the Moon, Venus and Mars, are just as involved in the relationship. But since the Sun Signs are central to a person’s astrological make-up, it’s worth reading up on a possible love connection.
Aries ignites around the other Fire signs Leo and Sagittarius. If egos are kept in check the Aries-Leo match can grow into mutual adoration and encouragement. The Aries-Sadge couple hits the ground running as a pair of bon vivants. The Aries-Gemini match starts on a high note, but may never come down from the mania into a settled relationship. When Aries meets its polar opposite Libra, it can be like the Mt. Everest of relationships, but worth the journey. Love is a battlefield for Aries-Scorpio, both being Mars-ruled, but you can't match this pair's intensity.
Taurus can take it slow and easy with the other Earth signs Capricorn and Virgo. But Capricorn would be wise not to get bossy with the Bull. Same goes for Virgo with the tendency to critique. The Taurus-Scorpio match has emotional depth and if there is maturity there, a comfortable stability. A Taurus-Cancer pair could sink into domesticity together, but should watch that they don't become inert on the couch. For some reason, Leo and Taurus fair well, if the wandering eyes are kept in check.
Gemini finds the mental stimulation it needs from the other Air signs Libra and Aquarius. But Libra might get exasperated with the flighty Geminian ways. A Gemini-Aries match won't be boring but may not last since these two have short attention spans. Pisces understand the Gemini's changeability, making this a kindred spirit. The equally flexible and intellectually adventurous Sagittarius could also win the Gemini heart.
Cancer feels emotionally understood with the other Water signs Scorpio and Pisces. This holds true as long as the Scorpio is not too secretive and wounding, and the Pisces has balancing elements to give shape to their sense of self. A Cancer-Virgo connection can cause these two to drop their legendary defenses since they know how to reassure each other. Aries and Libra match Cancer’s intensity, but may not be ready for the sensitivity. A Cancer-Capricorn alliance brings Mommy and Daddy together for a serious, loyal family feeling.
Leo rises to the challenge of winning the hearts of the other Fire signs Aries and Sagittarius. But the Leo pride could be deflated if Aries loses interest and Sadge takes a too casual approach. A Leo-Aquarius match makes sense and throws the door wide to a lifetime of growth. Leo-Taurus has friction, but I've seen this combo thrive -- there is shared sensuality and enjoyment of the finer things.
Virgo’s focus is on the details of daily life and other Earth signs Capricorn and Taurus support this trait. Virgo doesn't mind playing helpmate to Capricorn, or working alongside Taurus. But Virgo needs to keep from being weighted down, a danger of being with another earth sign. The Virgo-Cancer combo brings two worriers together, but both cherish the little habits that come with life together. Many a Virgo ends up with Pisces for a match that draws them into the emotional depths.
Libra veers toward other active minds including Air signs Gemini and Aquarius. But Libra may think Gemini untrustworthy, and Aquarius too rigid in their own views. When a Libra meets the other Cardinal signs Aries, Cancer and Capricorn, they'll be faced with frictions that make them giddy with relationship challenges. For these pairs to work, you'll have to understand the different ways you take charge. There are Libra-Libra pairs in abundance, since both are peacemakers.
Scorpio can merge swimmingly with other Water signs Cancer and Pisces. But Scorpio will need to learn true emotional revelation to win the heart of either of these two sensitive souls. The Scorpio-Taurus match creates a duo with the power to build an empire. The Scorpio-Scorpio couple has to fight (literally) to keep from imploding, but they can work out most things in the bedroom.
Sagittarius is on the move and admires the other Fire signs Aries and Leo. The Sagittarius-Gemini couple star in their own action adventure and are best friends, as well as lovers. Aquarius understands Sadge independence. The physical Sagittarius can find an unspoken understanding with any of the Earth signs Capricorn, Virgo or Taurus. Sagittarius is known as the “friend of the Zodiac” in more ways than one.
Capricorn is drawn to the other Earth signs Virgo and Taurus. But Capricorn could get restless with these two, and seek out relationships with more edge. Like in life, Capricorn is an achiever in romance, and other Cardinal signs Cancer, Libra and Aries offer that coveted brass ring. The Capricorn-Aquarius match has a cool dignity that gives each plenty of emotional space.
Aquarius wants to be loved at a distance, and the other Air signs Gemini and Libra are good prospects. But the rebel Aquarius could balk at Libra's people-pleasing ways, and might find Gemini too all over the place. The Aquarius-Leo match foretells many interesting puzzles to unravel over time. A Virgo or Capricorn can bring the Aquarius down to Earth, but without forcing too much togetherness. True to form, Aquarians will likely surprise everyone with the mate they choose.
Pisces is allowed to remain an enigma with the other Water signs Cancer and Scorpio. The Pisces-Virgo allows the drifter to find a piece of land to settle on, and lifts Virgo up from the mundane to see life from more lofty perspective. A Pisces-Pisces affair could lead to total oneness, but they should make sure they have a separate life, too.
