Old times, old times. Ahhh, how nice it was! If only Melody could be here to share in the nostalgia, but leaving three little girls all alone in the house would be disastrous. Especially after the whipped cheese incident. What was whipped cheese? Even to this day, Boyan did not know. But it was EVERYWHERE.
And that was the last time Boyan was left home alone while the girls went grocery shopping.
--Wasn't he reminiscing about something else? Bah; like it mattered! All that mattered was that he wished there was something; ANYTHING that wouldn't TEASE him so. For there to be a house that smelled so familiar, for there to be other Porcelain, but for it not to be the same...
He'd use the word "Cocktease", but the last time he did, he ended up with a bar of Irish Spring in his mouth. So he'll just. Not use the word.
--Not that he saw anything dirty about teasing roosters.

It probably isn't possible for Nusumu to walk any slower, but she nevertheless tries to slow down when the udon-ya enters into view. It isn't that she doesn't want to get there, of course not. But she is nervous and antsy and maybe she should go home-
No. Nusumu will stand firm! She has come this far in the name of seeing her friends, and that is what she intends to do! And look, someone is there! Her timing is perfect!
So why do her feet refuse to move?
This is silly, she tells herself. Nusumu will not be defeated by feet! So telling herself, she puts the handle of her basket in the crook of her elbow and positively sprints the last of the way, so she cannot stop herself...
... before barreling into someone.

That... might not have been the best idea, Nusumu speculates from her position, which is not a very comfortable one.
And the cookies! They must be all over the ground. gonk
Nusumu is very sorry, she hopes no one is hurt she will be more careful, et cerera. She slowly goes about picking herself up, mourning the loss of the cookies more than anything else. There is something bothering her, perhaps something she is overlooking, but she continues to overlook it.

Eh? Yousei blinks, and peers down the street. She readjusts one of the shopping bags hanging off her shoulder and turns toward the commotion. She wasn't planning on stopping by the udon-ya today, but she can feel a distinct, very familiar confusion even from where she is. She starts walking toward the shop, breaking into a run when she recognizes one of the people on the ground.
Ah! "Nusumu!" What happened he--
Yousei's thoughts cut off as she is in the middle of holding out her hand to the other girl. Her head cocks to the side, and her eyes narrow as she looks at whom Nusumu bumped into.

Boyan stayed right where he was, thank you very much. With one bare foot pointing off in the distance, and the other leg, bare and angled skyward, Boyan was quite a sight indeed. And thankfully for all involved, his robes still, somehow, managed to cover the, ah. important areas.
Now. Back to the matter of these cookies on the ground? BOYAN WOULD HAPPILY EAT THEM. blaugh

Her precious cookies! Even though they are not the best, Nusumu still hates to go anywhere without something to offer.
And see, here is Yousei, and the cookies are a mess, and and Youseeeeeeeeei! Nusumu nearly crashes into her, but has learned her lesson and stops short. Nusumu has missed Yousei so much! crying
As for eating cookies off the ground, Nusumu would not permit it! She turns, ready to tell the interloper off-
... wait a second Nusumu knows that doofy grin.

Now, Nusumu must not be too upset. Nusumu has fed them all wonderful cookies baked with love so many times -- she must not worry so! And besides, Yousei solemnly promises that she will help Nusumu make a fresh batch. 3nodding She actually does have some flour and sugar and things in her bag here...
Ah, wait! Yousei was almost distracted from the matter at hand. Which is...
She swings around to look at the blissful Porcelain sprawled on the ground, her long braid whipping after her. Yousei DEFINITELY knows that doofy grin. She bends down and levels a glare at him.
"BO-YAN!"

Wait, WAIT. What did Boyan do? Certainly, he now recognized Nusumu (Slayer of Squeekyduck Sr.), and Yousei, and while this made him happy beyond belief, here he was being told that he couldn't have a cookie DESPITE DIRT MAKING THEM EXTRA CRUNCHY, and Yousei glaring at him like... well... like! Like someone who glared at him!
And he would respond in kind, dagnabbit.

Nusumu completely forgets about the tragedy of the cookies for a moment, and looms over the tangled Boyan. Is that all Nusumu is, huh? Nusumu thought they had moved past that. If he insists on holding onto a dead duck, she does not have to share. There will be fresh cookies for Nusumu and Yousei, but none for Boyan!
Really, she means it!
... there might be some that didn't fall out of the basket though.
Is it even possible to stay angry at him? gonk

Yousei screws up her face and, taking in his appearance, crouches down next to him. ...
...
Boyan is taller than she is! How can this be? If Yousei doesn't grow some more, "I'll have a complex forever!" Yousei's eyebrows draw together. Boyan looks so different and he's been gone for so long and... !
Can she give him a hug? The projected request is so meek that it occurs to her she'd never felt the need to ask permission before, with him. It's fairly clear that this is what is upsetting her more than anything else.

That was the strangest part about it all, Boyan realized. For him to be Grandpa Boyan in name, and to be Grandpa Boyan for REAL one day VERY SOON (His lovelybeautiful daughter! Having a lovelybeautiful child of her own! Just the very thought of it sent him into gooey, cooing projections! 4laugh ), and all the friends he'd grown up with... still small.
But that just meant Boyan could give them piggyback rides and horseyback rides and reach things on high shelves and give them BIG SQUISHY HUGS (Which he was now pulling Yousei down into) and then make "Nyah nyah" faces when they acted like brats! (Like he was now doing to Nusumu. razz )
His lovelypretty Melody was going to be SO JEALOUS! Which just means she'll have to be the one to come next time. 4laugh

Gah, now he is rubbing size into it! If Boyan asks Nusumu, he is the one acting like a brat. xp
But despite that, Nusumu is terribly glad to see him, and gets in line for her hug. That is, if Boyan is willing to act his age (their age, really) and not focus on silly matters. Which she rather hopes he is, because HUG.
Grandpa whatnow? Nusumu attempts to sort through the projections, which feels similar to wading through a pool of marshmallow sauce.
... what? WHAT? WHAT? eek

"Foo! Ffoooo!" Yousei attempts in vain to blow Boyan's hair out of her eyes (good grief, since when did he have so much of it?), but she gives it up as a lost cause after only a moment. All the same, she wraps one arm around him and looks up at his happy face. She reaches up with the other arm and gives him a few pokes on the cheek.
Yousei agrees with Nusumu. Boyan may be an extra-big brother now, but he'd better not let it get to his head! whee
It takes Yousei an extra moment or two to catch onto what Nusumu has pointed out. She splutters, and ceases her poking. Wait. Melody? Little Melo? Little, tiny, baby Melody is having a baby!?
... Boyan let someone marry his daughter? :XP:
