The day was rather dull, yet beautiful. The sun was out, but with a few clouds here and there. It threatened to rain in a few days, or at least that's what Urza figured. He lashed his tail as he watched the sky for a moment, debating when exactly it would rain. It was always hard to predicted what would happen, but it was still fun to try. He shook his mane and decided he'd have to wait a day before telling. He scanned the land lazily before moving in a direction he was sure he hadn't gone before. A flick of his tail with each step he took. His ears flickered as well. A deep sigh came out to tell anyone who could hear it that he was very bored. He hadn't ran into anyone in a long time. It was sad, yet it happened a lot. Urza mostly traveled at night, since that's when he hunted. He decided to change things up a bit. The day was warm, and nice, and it begged for him to do a little bit of exploring in different lighting. Even though he could see better at night.

Amanzi gazed up at the cloudy sky and figured it would rain soon. Since clouds, especially these dark-colored ones, generally meant that water would soon be falling from the sky. Lovely. Oh, she definitely thought it would be great fun. She loved the water, even if her twin didn't. Amanzi made a face at the thought of Taku. He was so difficult, sometimes! Even if they had both left the Bahari'mtoto because of his fear of water, it wasn't fair that he was so bossy all the time.
So she had to get away; her paws had made her get up and wander a bit and had found her here.
She sighed, and found herself oddly echoed by the sound. Except the echo was...deeper, masculine...and coming from nearby? Her ears pricked forward and she went into a slight crouch, creeping forward until she could see a large white and brown lion walking around.
"Hello," she called out hesitantly, softly, not wanting to startle him.

A light hello came into his ears. Which made them flicker, and he stopped. Odd, he swore he heard someone. He blinked a bit, then looked about, He thought he had already looked around, but apparently not good enough. He spotted green, which was on some brown, then some lighter brown. It could be easily mistaken for dirt with grass, but as he looked closer it was clearly not that. It had moved, or rather, she had moved. He raised a brow. He should probably look around with a little more effort, He shrugged, and turned his body fully towards the female. She was crouched down, and almost hidden as well. "Hello." he said with a slight questionable look.
"Who are you hiding from?" He asked her. He hadn't realized it was him she was hiding from. He didn't know his sigh was over heard, nor did he know she was close near. Plus, if it was him, why would she say hello? He raised a brow again and eyed her for a moment. His icy blue eyes seemed to be warm and gentle despite the color.

Amanzi blushed and quickly straightened her posture. She hadn't realized she had still been crouching down to the ground when she had offered the light greeting. Silly her. Her tail flicked from side to side as she stood.
"No one," she stammered slightly, embarrassed at being caught in such a silly fashion."I heard a noise, before, from over this direction and wasn't sure of what it was, so I crouched down just in case it was something dangerous. I didn't know I was still like that when I said hello. I'm sorry." Amanzi took a few steps forward and stopped, tilting her head at him. Her bright blue eyes met his lighter shaded ones, and she smiled. "I'm Amanzi. I live nearby, or we're staying nearby. My brother and I just left the ocean and are on our way...somewhere," she offered as a small conversation starter.
Boy, would Taku be mad if he found out about this. They had already had "the talk," when discussing Amanzi and boys. Her twin insisted on being with her whenever she met a new "friend," or whatever. Which was ridiculous because he had gone off with that Firekin lioness only days before, and had gotten scars out of it! When would he listen to her?

Urza couldn't help but to grin. "Sorry about that then." he said. So it was him after all, or at least he figured that since he was the only one here other then her. Some birds in the distance, but they never got too close to Urza. He loved to hunt them, but only at night. He lashed his tail and smiled at her. "I'm Urza, and er.... I'm heading in no direction at all." He spoke. How else was he suppose to answer back? He had no direction in mind, no destination to reach. At least not yet.
Urza had no one to listen to, or get bossed around. It was a simple life, but would it be better with someone to boss him around? He didn't know, nor did he care right now. He smiled. "I'm also alone, at least for the most part. Nice to have a sibling with you though, right?" He asked her trying to keep a small conversation going.

Amanzi smiled and nodded.
"Nice to meet you, Urza," she replied, stepping forward again. There she goes, being too 'into' the conversation again. No wonder lions didn't like to talk to her. She just wanted to take control.
Which wasn't true, really. She just wanted to feel more personal to the lion/creature she was currently having a conversation with. Was that such a bad thing?
She looked up at the sky and smiled."It's going to rain soon. I love the rain, and the ocean, and the watering pools. I love water," Amanzi shared with him. Her gaze dropped back down from the overhanging clouds and back to meet his "Sometimes siblings are alright, but other times, not really so much. My twin brother (his name is Taku, by the way) can be horribly bossy and overbearing. That's why I had to get away today, in the first place."
She made a face at the mention of Taku. Even though ever since they had left the ocean, he had been growing steadily and steadily happier, it would still be a while before he completely healed. From that, and the scars on his back and leg.

Urza didn't notice anything. He didn't care if someone got into a conversation or not. Unless they were some creepy creature who knew everything about him before they even met. "Yeah, I noticed that too. " He started to reply. "It's alright, but I wouldn't be one to go swimming." He said with a laugh. Unless of course fish was involved. "that's what brothers are for, or at least that's what I've heard." Urza had three other siblings that he couldn't remember. He was separated from them at a young age. "They just want to make sure your safe." He said with a nod.
He knew if he had any sisters or children he knew about, he'd protect them and probably seem a little bossy, but he'd try to not be too bad. It was hard when protecting someone you cared about, he supposed. "I'm sure he means well."

Amanzi tilted her head back up to the sky and closed her eyes as thunder startled to rumble on the horizon. It was going to rain soon. She wanted to stay outside and dance in it, leaping and bouncing and twirling in all directions. She had never felt as free as she did when she danced in the rain by herself, with no one watching.
"You're not a big swimmer?" she repeated, sympathizing with him as she pulled her head back down to respond politely."It's not for everyone, I'll admit. My brother loathes any kind of water with a passion. Even drinking water, or a few sprinkles."
She nodded at his small explanation, knowing that that was exactly true. It didn't matter who was the oldest, between them: either way, Taku would always be the one trying to protect her from the big, bad world. "I know. It's just hard, sometimes," Amanzi allowed, grinning half-heartedly.
And then the thunder was getting louder, closer to them where they stood on the plain. It was coming! There was no lightning; it wasn't that big of a storm. But big enough for rain. She could smell it in the air. Any second now.

"I can't say I know how to swim." He laughed. He wasn't ashamed at the fact that he couldn't swim. Most lions couldn't, he thought. Plus, it was a work cleaning ones fur after enduring lots of water. He wasn't much on cleaning himself, unless there was nothing better to do. But it did make him look better when he had a nice clean, shiny white set of fur.
"Nothings easy. If it were, then it wouldn't be worth living." He winked at her. Of course he didn't know how much of that was true. Surely, if it was easy, you wouldn't know about it, and think life was just naturally grand. But moving from a hard life to an easy life would make it rather dull. At least in the eyes of Urza.
Urza didn't care about the thunder rolling closer, in fact, it was a pleasant sound. The only thing he didn't enjoy was the light works that went with it. Of course, he wasn't an expert about when or how the lights came. He eyed the sky with a glare, as to say he'd be angry at the gods for releasing any type of light that went with the sound. The light smell of rain filled his noise, yet, no rain was falling. It was the beauty of it all. the best smell in the world was right before rain touched down upon the cold earth below.

She laughed as well. It was true, cats usually did not spend an excessive amount of their lives in the water, like fish and other sea creatures. Big masses of water just wasn't the same entertainment for others as it was for Amanzi, and she knew it. But that didn't make her love it any less.
"I see. I'm sorry, then, but I understand." Amanzi grinned lopsidedly at him."I would offer to teach you, or to help you learn, but that's up to you. Although I am a pretty good teacher. Some lions are just content to drink it instead of play in it."
A little gasp escaped her as the first raindrop of many fell on her back, quickly sliding down her spine to rest in her thick fur. She tilted her head back up to the sky in glee and watched the clouds rumble and move quickly. A louder thunder of sound echoed in the empty savannah and then the rain started coming down. Lightly, at first, in a slight sprinkle. Then it started to get harder.
"If you're not a fan of water, I would suggest that we get out of this rain!" she shouted over the rumbles and the rainfall to Urza. There should be some thick trees with enough coverage somewhere nearby, or perhaps a large, overhanging rock they could crouch under. She didn't mind.

"Maybe another day, as when it's not raining. I hear the rain makes waters worse to go into. Though, I'm no expert. " He spoke. Though, he also heard right before it rained was the best time to catch tasty fish. Storms made fish crazy, and when they could feel them come. They'd eat as much as they could right before the great storm, then go and hide until it was over. Fish did sound good, though the storm had already started, so their chances of getting any fish had gone. A shame, but another day would come.
Urza only felt the weight of each drop hit his fur. Being slightly thick, made it hard to get threw to him to do anything. Unless, of course, it hit his nose. But even then, it was nothing his tongue couldn't fix. A quick easy lick to it, and taking any water off of it. Though, not a drop hit his nose, at least yet it hadn't.
"Rain won't hurt me, so I can stay in it any day. As long as those clouds don't bring a flashing light, that is." Urza wasn't afraid to say when he wasn't comfortable with something, or in other words afraid of something. Though, all creatures should be afraid of that. He'd seen it in action before. Hitting a dry spot of grass could cause a nice fire. And that wasn't fun for anyone at all. "No, it's really not a problem." He said with a chuckle. "Not like I'm too worried about how my fur looks.

Mm, that was true. She hadn't thought about that. Especially in a storm with lightning, it was dangerous to go swimming. The fiery bolts liked the liquid, for some reason, and her mother had always told her siblings not to be near water when it was storming outside. Although now, it wasn't a lightning storm. It was just rain and a bunch of thunder.
"Right, that's true," Amanzi agreed, a bit embarrassed now for not thinking straight."Well, I'm good with staying out too. Though if it starts to rain harder to the point where it hurts, I might have to back out and go hide under something," she giggled. Sometimes, rain felt good. It cleansed you, all the while being a light rainfall that lifted your spirits and made you want to go and play in the rain some more. Other times, not so much. Rain had fallen hard before, so hard that it hurt to go out into it. And then sometimes, even rarer, to see little white balls fall from the sky. And they weren't soft, either. They were hard, tough, and of all things, light. They hurt really badly. But it had been a while since they had come down to the ground, so Amanzi wasn't worried about them popping up in this storm.
"I like the smell, even though it's hard to pick up while it's raining." The rumbles had quieted for a moment, and then the rain started falling down at a more steady pace, quickly drenching both lions. It felt like she had just walked out of the ocean, but there was a lack of salt in the air, and no sand to walk upon.

"I'm sure hail won't happen, though I've been wrong before" he chucked. He was thankful of his thick fur, that when it did hail, he hardly felt it. Unless it was bigger then a very small rock. Water had it's ups and downs. For one, it was good for you to drink, as well it could help you clean your fur... Though it could also help make it a mess too. He flicked his tail as he smiled at her.
Urza shook his body, which didn't help much, but to only make his hair stick up in every direction possible. "The smell of rain to soon to come is a smell anyone can enjoy." He nodded in agreement. That was probably what most only liked about the rain. Though, if it didn't rain, they'd all be dead.

She doubted it would hail. It was the wrong time of storm and the wrong season for hail. At least, she hoped so, and hoped that he was right for once. She had to laugh, though, when his fur stuck up for a moment when he shook it out.
"I don't think I've ever seen or met a lion with such thick fur," Amanzi said, shouting the last part over a rather loud rumble of thunder. The rain, for now, was going at a somewhat-steady pace, falling down on the two of them. She shook her head to keep her hair out of her bright eyes. A third of her wanted it to keep raining, another third wanted it to start raining harder, and yet another third of her kind of wanted it to stop raining. It was tough to choose which third to listen to the most and which to hope for the most.
She loved water, but perhaps it wasn't the most pleasant thing to have an introduction in the rain, however light the rainfall ended up being.

He didn't notice before on how thick his fur was until she said something. "Surely you've met other male lion adults?" He asked her. Though he really hadn't run into many. He supposed it was mostly his winter coat. Though he was a bit of a fluff ball.
He shook his body again, as a sad attempt to try to get him to look not so fluffy, but it failed. It just mad things worse. He laughed. "I guess shaking in the rain just makes it worse"
