Killswitch was formed from the death of two band, AfterShock and OverCast. Adam Dutkiewicz, Mike D'Antonio, and Joel Stroetzel. The band enlisted the help of Jesse Leach on lead vocals. The band released two albums before Jesse would leave the band.
1. Killswitch Engage (Feret Records)
2. Alive or Just Breathing (Roadrunner)
In 2003 on tour Jesse left the band due to personal depression issues and the band asked vocalist Howard Jones from Blood Has Been Shed to fill in. Soon after the tour the band held auditions and choose Jones to permanently fill in as the new lead singer. With the Jones the band released two more albums and is currently working on a new album expected to be released sometime this year.

The band has a total of eight singles:
