OH GOD.

OH MY GOD.

THEY ROCKED SO HARD.

WHICH ONE WAS YOUR FAVORITE AND WHY TELL ME NOW.

Both entries had me shaking in anticipation as I watched Lillian's heartbreaking tragedy and renewal, Karl finally being forced to drop the smile and succumbing to a frightening rage in Unknown's piece, and the hopelessness he eventually confronts in both stories. Both are so good- and in fact so different- that it's near impossible to say which is my favorite.

But if I were forced to pick a side, then.... I have to admit, BlackLillian's God of the Machine would be my choice. Weaving together stories from several of the LoT entrants, she unfolds a heartrending tale of loss, hope, and courage, and manages to finish things with a more or less happy ride off into the sunset.

It was wonderful how she had Climber of all people take out Lilith's rampage, and even little Chimbley gets his moment of heroism, albeit with some characteristic mouthing off. Lillian's art is stunning, and her Karl is evil and remorseless, which makes his descent into hollow insanity all the more powerful and terrifying. That blank, horrified look he had in his eyes in the climax is one that I will not soon forget.

Unknown's entry, on the other hand, is no less than what we'd expect from him/her. The animation is excellent, the humor is punchy and clever, the voice acting was terrific, and I just loved how the Professor quotes Edgar Allen Poe upon seeing Arma.

Seeing Karl's enraged expression during the battle with Ginger was chilling, not least because in previous entries, Karl had never so much as scowled. Here, we could see the layers of charm and deceit stripped away, with nothing between the viewer's eye and the cold killer that he truly is.

The ending came as a surprise to me, since Karl never actually won the battle, and his wish remains unfulfilled. Then again, maybe Unknown knew that if Karl won, the whole city would die, and so took action to ensure that his/her character would never reach his twisted goal.

I was blown away by the sheer epicness delivered in both entries. I was literally speechless.

BlackLillain's had a great story, seemlessly entiwining all the OC's within the plot. Making Karl feel the emotions of a human was pure brillance. Having Eric and Chimbley use the Taitle robot to fight the robot army was excellent, as was having Mizuno there for the fight with Karl. From the get-go this entry was serious; Karl getting right to the kill before starting in with the "hate talk" on humans, but the ending was on a light note. Turning Karl human was an odd twist in the end, but overall the entry was great!

Unknown's, however, was the best entry in my opinion. Beginning on a somewhat light note within the church, in which I simply love the scenes there. Having the Law itself manifest in order to get its own wish was a nice plot device. I, too, love the Poe ref that leads up to the action scenes. The flashbacks were incredibly intriguing and when Karl stopped smiling I was shaken. Climber was as adorable and loveable as ever and I simply adored the whole part with him squeaking when he's grabbed and flung up to the Taitle robot. Climber vs Karl was the best thing I have ever seen in my life, hands-down. Then, the fall of the Law in a spectacular blend of music and animation. At the end, my heart strings were tugged as I watched Karl fall apart emotionally before his broken frame was struck the final blow by Annie. The ending, or should I say lack-of, is still driving me insane. I want to know what happened to everybody! The whole entry was a mix of beautifully fabricated comics and some of the best animation I have ever seen between the camera angles and movements to the lipsynching and even the steam appears more realistic. I reiterate, is the best entry in my opinion.

My brain was shattered by the sheer awesomeness of both these entries. . .

I'd have to say I agree with much of what Bloomblitz said. . . So. . . yeah. . .

I really hope Karl is alright. . . =x='
