It was one of those outdoors concerts set up with teens and pre-teens in mind. No parents allowed and no alcohol or drugs. This was to be a clean event and it was meant to be kept that way. Several responsible young adult chaperones milled about and mingled with the younger crowd as various types of music played through the air. Most of the songs were upbeat and held a strong positive message to them but there were a few bits of music played where it was a little sad and solemn. All-in-all it was a good mix. Food, drink, and games were also provided by various sponsors in the surrounding area.
Lanterns had long been lit as the skies were now a clear and star filled affair with a crescent moon in the midst of the stars. Wynni was currently wandering around and simply enjoying the people and the exuberant feel of the moment. She was glad that the event had taken place in a previously empty field with no cities nearby because you could actually see the stars here despite some of the lighting from the stage and surrounding area.
She hefted her shawl up a little higher on her shoulders as she gazed about for a familiar face. At least it wasn't very cold out.

Slythor was doing what he could to enjoy himself. He was wearing a simply black silk vest with formal pants. He had no shoes, for he had hooves. He looked quite presentable and had even charmed his way into a few women's hearts already. He had a bit of dancing done, and what he was doing now was lounging near the food bar, sipping some punch. He was the only one to have brought a different sort of guest along, it seemed.
Blue say at his friend's scaly shoulder, dressed up in a little vest and a small top hat himself. He was busy munching politely on some of the snacks. Unlike other birds, he seemed to be able to digest anything humans could digest. He was currently eating some sort of biscuit. He didn't need any water though. He was still a bird, and his mouth was usually dry, unlike human's.
Slythor noticed a familiar face. Wynni. I had been too long since he had met with her. He walked confidently up to her through the crowds. "Hello." He spoke, smiling softly. "Long time no see, Wynni."

She wore a simple yellow dress with a matching shawl and her usual butterfly wing pendant. Nothing much had changed about Wynni other than the fact that she was now older and much taller and had a couple of ear piercings upon her ears. Wynni also seemed a lot less of a crybaby as she greeted Slythor with a cheerful grin and a wave, "Slythor? Hi!" her tail twitched side-to-side happily. She hadn't seen the boy in ages and he had certainly grown himself!
He looked very nice and what a darling little creature he had with him. She was certain that the bird-like animal was perhaps a slightly new (to her) addition to Slythor's characteristics as it seemed as if the pair was inseparable.
"How have you been?" She queried in a bid to keep the conversation moving. Wynni had obviously been surprised to see him here of all places.

The prideful patience smile softly. "I'm here to celebrate my coming of a job." He murmured to the other, happy and content beyond anything. He sipped his punch casually. "Oh, I forgot. You haven't met Blue. Apparently I was born with him. He's a little strange, but he means well always." He smiled as the bird made a head-bob and whistled as if pleased with her clothing."Apparently he likes what you wear today." He commented.
Blue continued to nibble on his cracker gently, making sure to leave no crumbs. After all, how unsightly was it to leave crumbs on the vest of his partner? He flapped his wings a few times once he was done and stretched. Hmm, how lovely this whole party was. He hopped on over to the girl's shoulder carefully. His talons were sharp and he didn't want to hurt anyone.
"So, what are you doing here?" He asked sweetly.

Wynni gave a small giggle, "What kind of job?" she asked genuinely curious about what the older boy could possibly be doing in his life. When her attention was drawn back to the bird she grinned lightly as she watched the creature head-bob and whistle pleasantly and Slythor made note of the bird's approval of her clothes she chuckled and blushed lightly, "Thank you, Blue~," she spoke directly to the bird.
When the bird-creature moved to her shoulder and dug his talons into the flesh there she seemed unbothered other than the initial pinch of talons there was no real pain just the feel of pressure. Her skin was tough enough to withstand the talons and not get clawed and pierced immediately. "Such a fine being you are, Blue," she praised the bird gently reaching up to shyly pet at the feathery blue crest on top of his head.
"Oh? Nothing just enjoying the music and such," Wynni said honestly with a small smile, "it was a little lonely just wandering around on my own so I am glad to have found someone that I know."

"A service job. I'm old enough to serve a few people at a shop for people who believe they're not human. We have werewolves, vampires and the like. It's a place I can go to without anyone blinking an eyelash." Slythor replied calmly. "They liked how I looked too, says it really shows the concept of the club." He smiled charismatically and whistled gently for Blue to hop onto his shoulder, despite how the bird seemed to enjoy the patting Wynni gave him.
"Well, would you like to dance?" He asked, holding out one scaled hand politely. It was not a pushing question, not the way he said it. It was gentlemanly and soft, almost sensitive. He gave another flash of a smile.

The pre-teen allowed the bird to go toward his companion not seeming to mind, she liked watching the creature move, it was so pretty! Wynni's tail twitched from side to side in time to the music as she listened to Slythor described his job and thought it sounded pretty fun! She canted her head to the side and commented, "It sounds wonderful! Good luck to you on your new job then!"
Her hands went up to her chest a bit as she looked at his hand. The pre-teen blushed only a little, she had never been asked to dance before! At least not as far as Wynni could recall, her own pale hand landed upon his and she nodded enthusiastically, "Sure, I'd love to dance with you, Slythor!"
